hey LP.
i'll try not to be too sentimental, but my party is over.
i'm out.
if poker gets legalized in the US, theres ~5% chance I play again, but for now I'm out. I did my time and I'm done.
I know most of you won't care, and you shouldn't!, regardless this site was a major factor in me being a 25nl noob to a supernova MSNL grinder for YEARS.
to be honest this was never the lifestyle I set out for, that being said it was an experience I will be forever grateful for. I will be pursuing higher education moving forward and trying to enjoy my time spinning on the rock.
There are far too many people I owe thanks to, and regretfully I am a fair bit too lazy to list them individually. I sincerely wish you all the best of luck in your pursuits regarding poker and life in general. You are all a good lot and brimming with potential in all corners of life. Our time on Earth is short and wild, and hopefully we will all do our best to make the most of it. I am incredibly fortunate to simply have been born in an age where I had the ability to communicate with people from such varied backgrounds as are present here and I'd like to thank anyone who contributed in any way major or minor for simply helping me to better understand humanity and the world as a whole. To think if we were born 60 years prior to now being in communication with people 200km away let alone 2,000 would be rare if not impossible is fascinating to me.
I'll probably still check up on the ROFL thread from time to time, and if anyone has any questions or comments about anything whatsoever feel free to drop me a line.
Take care, best of luck.

Since I can ask anything, I was zenyangah on stars 400-600nl back in 2009 and 2010. I knew you were you but knew you did not know who I was. Nevertheless, we played a little bit together but not too much, but enough to trade a few stacks. Do you remember the ID and if so, your general impressions of me whether good/bad? |

I will be sad if I can no longer communicate with you to better understand humanity and the world (and ourselves) as a whole.
Which gets me thinking. I miss the days of all the open insight sharing and roundtable discussion on this site. What if we started a forum category titled "Life" or something like that where people posed questions on anything curious, fascinating, w/e? We could potentially make it invite only if anyone is worried about trolls, etc. |

I know you're leaving behind the game, is there anyway you can do one big blog post with a bunch of useful poker tips for the rest of us who are still trying to reach MSNL? Game theory, goals, how to effectively get better, etc? I know a bunch of us would really appreciate it. |

Not an insult, I just try and get anyone I can to take part in the MMA threads here.
I'm actually surprised more people at LP don't follow MMA, it's really a great sport to watch when you're not playing poker or working. You get to see people beat each other up in various ways, which is a great stress reliever for those hard days at work or at the poker table. |

Just curious how you are able to turn down your future hourly earn rate in exchange for significantly less?
Every time I think to myself "it's time for me to move on from poker," i look at my hourly earn and compare it to anything else I could possibly do then decide I'd be nuts to quit.
Regardless, GL with whatever you choose to do. You've definitely been one of the few dudes who's game I've had a ton of respect for right from the start. |

You'd probably be surprised how little I truly care about money. Easy to say I guess cause I have a lot at the moment, but I was never a big materialist. Money wasn't my motivator in poker, it was just that I realized pwning noobs at poker would probably provide an easier life than pwning noobs at Counter Strike.
It was also nice that by pwning noobs at poker it actually provided me with more time to improve my ability to pwn noobs at poker since I generated money through it. It would be harder to get to the best of my possible ability at pwning noobs in NHL 12 or Counter Strike because I would still need to have a real job in order to eat food and live in a home etc.
I guess it's sorta cheesy and a lot of people would call BS on it but I really enjoyed the competition more than the results. |
