In December 2023, I met up with LemOn[5thF] in Las Vegas - he was in town for a poker event, and I was in town to bet on UFC 296 - and we decided to do a quick interview for our millions of fans and supporters at LiquidPoker.
During the interview, we talked about Team Liquid, people switching from StarCraft to poker, my time in the Korean eSports scene, Artosis and Tasteless, my brief stint in poker, MMA/UFC betting, and my quick thoughts about past and current LiquidPoker community members.
Note: I forgot to mention Grrrr... and FroZ in the video. Grrrr... for his past StarCraft and poker accomplishments, and FroZ for his StarCraft and WCG accomplishments. That being said, I haven't thought about eSports in 14 years, and the two aforementioned guys retired from eSports two decades ago, so yeah...

When mentioning Proct, I meant to say FroZ, since FroZ was the best Terran player. Proct was decent when he played StarCraft as well, and if I remember correctly, he is doing well in the poker scene nowadays.
Edit: RaSZi is someone else who I forgot. I still watch his YouTube videos and follow him on Twitter. You become forgetful as you get older...

This took me back! These two communities have been such a big part of my life - thank you all for the memories
I was in Vegas by a fluke at a very short notice covering WPT, it was all very off the cuff, sorry for all the cool folks we forgot about. There have been literally hundreds we hung with over the years over TL and LP.
93% Sure!

What a walk down memory lane! Thanks for sharing, PuertoRican.
I echo how impressive FroZ was at Starcraft at his peak - beating Boxer multiple times in the same WCG (the absolute biggest tournament)? That was absolutely unheard of for anybody, but especially someone who wasn't a professional player in Korea. He also is a great guy that has been a great friend to me over the years.
I'll also share a story about ElkY that I've never told anyone before. When I started out with my own transition from Starcraft to poker, I sent ElkY a message on this site asking if he wouldn't mind me reviewing his personal PokerStars hand histories to help me learn. I don't think he even knew who I was, but he was generous enough to send me a big folder which helped me a lot. I'm forever grateful for that act of kindness. He's a true legend.
Even though I barely post here anymore, it still brings a smile to my face seeing old friends make comments here. Hope you're all doing well!

Hey bud!
Good to see you comment here. I miss the old days of StarCraft 1... ...times were simpler back then, before we were all forced to grow up and become adults...
Do you travel to Las Vegas at all?

Amen, those were the days.
I'll be in Vegas for a long weekend this Spring since my wife is going for a work trip (I'd have to check when exactly that is - but I'd be happy to meet if you're out there regularly). I don't travel there regularly anymore since I quit being a poker pro.
I hardly played poker for years after I got my current job but I've recently picked up playing 1/3 and 2/5 games near me in Chicago on weekends. I just recently started playing around with poker solvers so I clearly have a lot of ground to make up! I wish I could play online but there don't seem to be any good options that my bank would let me deposit on. I'm not buying crypto just to play small stakes online... heh.

I needed to watch this. I've always loved this site and still visit for all the pointless political debates. This and the old joerogan.net forum back when the JRE wasn't even created yet. Crazy how time flies.

Sounds good. Let me know whenever.
I have weekend trips already booked for March 8-10 (UFC 299) and April 12-14 (UFC 300). I'll also be out there for day trips throughout each month, but I won't have much time to do anything aside from watch UFC fights since I arrive around 8am and leave around 10pm that same day.
