yeah that's the intention - literally moving to canada, using a canadian address+bank, etc. i don't see why it wouldn't work either, but i'm wondering if anyone has read posts about people discussing / trying this, and whether anyone knows that it's confirmed possible or confirmed impossible.

I know yomers been actively researching and actually planning on moving/going soon so shoot him a PM and I think he can help you.

Also here's the thread on it

On the 15th I requested to cashout my BR at PS. Normally I go with an e-check. This time, a check. This morning, on the Pending Cashouts window, the option to cancel the transaction was replaced by the message,

" **These transactions require your attention. Please contact security@pokerstars.com. "

I emailed them about 7 hours ago. Still no response. Is this a standard message for a check cashout?

i got the same thing and just cancelled when it let me. would rather have my money in the stars account than some black hole fucking frozen payment processor accounts

Pretty sure Stars officially mentioned that you could move out of USA and as long as you provide a new bank account + legitimate proof of new address they'll give you access back to your account. So unless you want to permanently relocate, you could probably just open a Canadian bank account and rent an apartment for a single month to get your moniez. Cashout and come back home, play live, play bodog, wait it out, etc.

The new UB site is http://www.ubpoker.eu/

When I logged onto UB today, I received a software update that gave a popup announcement that essentially said that "real money activity has been suspended for US players." I wasn't able to copy/paste the message but it was very similar/along the lines of the PS/FTP announcements.

The interesting thing is that US players can still play on UB real money tables so I'm assuming that the term "real money activity" in the announcement is referring to deposits/withdrawals. I went onto UB Live Help and spoke with a representative who said that updates/information about withdrawal should be forthcoming in the next couple of days. Furthermore, he clarified that the funds are safe and that "sooner or later" the funds will be sent to their owners, but there isn't an estimable time frame.

It looks like UB's trying to do their part, just a tad bit slower with updates than PS/FTP. Also, if their allowing US players to keep playing on their site is an indicator of anything, I think they're just planning to find new processors and keep operating in the US.

want to propbet about it?, what odds do you lay on pokerstars not paying and on pokerstars dissapearing

Why in the world do I wanna prop bet about this? Im not gonna get paid either way!

But on a more serious note, the chance of pokerstars and FTP still being around is probably high. AltaVista which was once the most popular and reliable internet search engine is STILL "around". http://www.altavista.com/

The whole moral of my post was that it is NOT wise to take sides in this game. USGoverment nor PokerStars do NOT give a shit about you and your bank-roll and your life. So why anyone wants to bet their money against the US government or PS for anymatter? Just move to a site that there is no fighting. There are many sites that are reputable enough and are not about to get raped by the biggest swinging dick in the entire world. Why are you taking side in this game like as if PokerStars is part of your identity?

Good news. But the bad news is that now Americans will go back to complacency instead of raising hell about legalizing online poker.

@Baal i am so disappointed. You were way more observant few years ago when I was visiting here often.
-Do you really think this has ANYTHING to do with what I posted about the future business of PokerStars and FTP?

You are either a total idiot or you are just not capable of understanding written English. Why do you even mention stuff like "putting your money where you mouth is" or "lets make a bet on this" Grow the fuck up and stop your internet dick sizing match.

If you would have read any of my post while you had your brain turnd on you would understand the whole point of my post is NOT to bet in such events.

But you can put all your money on Stars or wherever the fuck you wanna put it and I wish you best of luck.

Jesus fucking Christ you are acting like a child. Its very irritating. Makes me regret even checking this forum after two years.

How (un)wise is it to try other sites that accept US players at the moment? I'm think of trying Cake Poker again.
