i have no clue what a vpn is so i google'd it, dunno if i'm understanding right but you need access to another computer outside the US and you access it remotely? i assume it's not that simple though otherwise it would be more common, someone educate me pls !

"btw part of the bet was that i cant get any coach i wouldnt have normally gotten some large % of the time. So for example asking phil galfond's advice on a few stud hands is obviously fine- paying doyle to coach me in horse is obviously not (galfond and i discuss poker sometimes- dont think doyle and i ever have). If there was a close situation i'd obviously tell ivey n make sure he ws ok w/ it etc. Also if he fell on his head n got rly dumb for 6mnths i obv wouldnt exercise option (altho id make him give me like 70k for rly sweet interest). Its a dog to happen but i like the option =)"
-durrrr, everyone's online hero that has been playing (and losing) in mixed games for years on the 100k horse challenge v ivey

durrrr hasnt taken mixed games seriosly or even NLHE or PLO for a while now, what are you saying, that the online pros (galfond, jungle etc) wouldnt be able to learn the mixed games and beat doyle at them? |

doyle is a greedy old man that has hustled ppl for a living all his life.
what makes you guys think doyle would play a game he is an underdog in? unfortunately for JM and urnotindanger they don't have the option to play online hu nl/plo atm. i saw an interview w/ jm where he said himself he is more or less socially retarded and naive. good luck showing up in bobby's room and having an edge. |
i don't think he'd play a game he's a dog in, that's why his tweet is meaningless other than some minor publicity or the slight possibility of antagonizing someone into playing 8-game (which seems unlikely unless they were going to anyway, but he loses nothing if they don't come so why not). it's just a passive-aggressive comment made purposefully vague so that it would be a nonstarter. i don't think JM being socially retarded would have anything to do with how he would fare in bobby's room though. like if they were offering to play x amount of NLHE and y amount of 8game or whatever, i think he would be exceptionally good at deciding whether it was an overall + or -EV spot for him.
with that said i don't really think it has to do with ego, doyle doesn't seem like the insecure type and i think he knows pretty well where he stands skillwise in most games. |

Doyle is probably better than most online pros @ Stud & 2-7draw but if he theoretically goes on a 50k hands challenge with any online pro he would be huge underdog by the end of it
Other than that i dont see him winning @ horse vs any of the guys above
Also what you guys seem to forget is that there was( still is i dont know? ) an online doyles room in prima network so basically the guy invested in online poker site and now says online poker is for teh suckerz
Thats like saying see guys im investing in something that i know is unprofitable or in other words im a complete moron |

GOOD NEW GUYS. PS just gave me a call. they are calling up SNEs and supernovas right now to let them know that their money is fine(talking about US players, i was assured that other countries its business as usual). And that apparently there will be means for cashing out when the week starts again. Thats pretty much the jist of it but it was very reassuring also proving why PS has always been the best poker site by a mile. Ask any long time SN or SNE and you will hear about how well they have been treated. |
yeah i got called 12 hours ago from PS and they said the same thing.
they also talked about giving info to others about relocating and such, probably in a future email |

UIGEA made it more difficult for the sites to process financial transactions. It is alleged that some sites - given the gross volume of transactions required to conduct business operations - had the parties under indictment do some stuff, stuff that ain't no thang really, more a terms of service violation with banks. Just so we're clear, is not illegal to form a corporation that does nothing and to fund it's account which you operate as the sole shareholder of that corporation, it is not illegal to lie on a bank form as to your intended usage of that account.
Alright, so it is alleged that some guys did some stuff, stuff like form corporate entities and use these corporations to move money around and suchlike. Big fucking deal, some guys formed corporations and moved money around. So what's the problem?
DOJ/FBI and suchlike were, I guess, able to (cough) acquire information that enabled them to resolve the chain of association related to approx 50 accounts holding billions which are alleged to have been used by those under indictment to directly enable the business operations of Stars, Fulltilt, ABS, etc..
And for an individual to do so would, I guess, be a violation of interstate commerce as defined under UIGEA.
And they charged so they can probably prove it. And since they seized accounts worldwide, they can probably prove the associations between the accounts.
The big problem is that the named parties actually have their real names and suchlike linked, associated with these accounts.
If, as alleged, the indicated poker sites used these people as intermediaries to perform financial transactions in order to facilitate business operations, then, basically, the sites just lost access to alot of their operating capital.

what? so durrrr is just playing all these hands for what reason?
galfond is the 2nd biggest loser in horse and has been playing for a while. i guess he's not taking it seriously either. instead of buying another NYC condo or a million other things he decided to just chunk off 2mil for fun.
i'm guessing they can eventually learn the mixed games and beat doyle. how much do they lose before they can though?

Anyway back to the topic:
Americans literally have no online room to play in now true/false ? Merge and Cake will probably shut down americans any minute - would be stupid not to. It feels like the situation is perfectly set up for Zynga poker to arrive with awesome client/offers/ real money etc. |

id be really worried if i had money on Cereus and thats about it, coz theres a legit chance they just close their doors and fuck off.
I dont think theres any chance of losing your roll on FTP or Stars, only difference is Stars will deal with it efficiently and professionally, and FTP will flounder around like retards for a while before getting their shit together. |
