I was hoping there would be more news coverage about this but it seems nobody cares. The population that is hurt by this (winning poker players) is very very small.

In other news: Obama is trying to increase oversight of the internet by the department of homeland security

/sigh

Well honestly, people are only getting boned because they were stupid enough to do something so blatantly illegal about it. Meh...

Yes I am still playing right now lol. The only possible unique scenario here is the fact that I never close the FTP client until they force a software update. So it's been running for a week straight on my pc and I havent logged off yet. Perhaps if I reconnect suddenly I'll be banned.

yes, ofc that's it. a lot of people have confirmed this. was confused because you said you just logged in. Just never close it Lol

Never close the client and you can play as American on FTP as long as you want. Problem US govt?

Gambling/Casino's are legal in like half the states of the US, so clearly it's not some moral agenda.

I think there's an argument that since Casino's and gambling is NOT legal in half the states of the US, that there's clearly some moral agenda.

Well, considering Bear Sterns and Lehman Brothers, two giants of wall street worth well more than any of these poker sites, went bust two years ago, I'd say anything is possible. After all, they weren't called "to big to fail" for no reason.

a totally different situation, this is more like chrysler getting bail outs.

haha this.
I wouldn't be surprised if the government has a plan in the works to make a US only site.. easy ways for ppl to deposit online (rake), easy ways to tell who makes how much money (and tax 50% of profits) etc.

Baalim   Mexico. Apr 16 2011 18:22. Posts 34305

It would be retarded to play in a pokersite that would allow USA players unless they get a gambling license, its asking for trouble after this has happened.

People chill out with your balances ffs... europeans cashing out their $400 bucks in Stars... facepalm.

Americans souldnt be that concerned about their funds, i think they should be more concerned on what they will do for a living now, im guessing the most common option will be playing live, then using proxies (could be risky), and the last common but best, moving overseas.
