I'm a korean guy with a huge love for his own country food. but as well as cuisines from just about anywhere. Some of my top favorites were already posted (myth you have very good taste! And have proper knowledge as well!) but I'll post some others.
My favorite meat of all time I present you with Korean BBQ short ribs or more commonly called by koreans as "gal-bi"
Will taste heavily of garlic (the biggest herb/flavor enhancer used in korean foods), a touch of soy, salt, and a few others i forget. Don't forget to add in a bit of kiwi juice as a meat tenderizer. Can be very hard to chew!
There's a few different styles of gal-bi varying in thickness and sauces.
With a good amount of Americans visiting this site I thought i'd see more breakfast platters from the all american breakfast but I guess not. (maybe i just missed em)
Best for hangover mornings imo.
Here's a picture of an omelet from one of my local breakfast joints called "brails". They dubbed it "the best hangover food" for this area.
Be generous with the Tabasco!
When you're broke, rich, or just feel like getting a taste of home. As a korean when you feel like you want a homely meal you usually think of Kim-Chee Stew. Usually made when the Kim-chee at home is getting a bit too old and a bit too fermented to enjoy normally. Plus it gets real stinky around then and fucks up your refrigerator anyway. The ingredients vary wildly from place to place and what preferences people have. But generally includes Tofu, some kind of meat or substitute (usually pork, beef, spam, sausage.) Kim chee obviously, green onions, asian raddish, and some other according to preference. As for spices the usual touch of minced garlic, salt (if needed), and crushed peppers (preferably spicy but not over powering maybe like crushed chilies wouldn't be bad)
Usually served with steamed sticky rice. Rice enjoyed by koreans is usually short grains.
I'm gonna post some more when i think about it. I know there's a ton of others ;(
eZ Life.

Blendtecs are the best blenders out there along with VitaMix. If you do not own a blender and you are going to be using it daily, do not get any other blender than one of those.

chateaubriand is the nuts, had the best chateaubriand when i was in basel, switzerland + Show Spoiler +
The Chateaubriand steak is a recipe of a particular thick cut from the tenderloin, which, according to Larousse Gastronomique, was created by personal chef, Montmireil, for Vicomte François-René de Chateaubriand, (1768–1848), the author and diplomat who served Napoleon as an ambassador and Louis XVIII as Secretary of State for two years. This dish is usually only offered as a serving for two, as there is only enough meat in the center of the average fillet for two portions.
At the time of the Vicomte, the steak was cut from the more flavorful but less tender sirloin and served with a reduced sauce made from white wine and shallots moistened with demi-glace and mixed with butter, tarragon, and lemon juice. An alternative spelling of the statesman-author's name is 'Châteaubriant', and some maintain that the term refers to the quality of the cattle bred around the town of Châteaubriant in the Loire-Atlantique, France.

quite the opposite. in all the time i spent in macau and korea, i noticed that both cultures were FAR less concerned with general politeness and customer service than we are here in america. sometimes it rubbed me the wrong way but mostly i just looked around and everyone seemed to just not care about polite bs and it worked pretty well for them
in american restaurants, the servers are extremely knowledgeable and polite and try very hard to go out of their way to ask you if you need anything, tell you the specials, etc
in macau the chinese girls just stare at you until you say something and then they write it down. if you need more water they don't care.

The tortilla of tacos is never fried in an "U" shape, 90% of tacos have "soft" tortilla, some tacos like chiken ones which are more home made than eaten out, have fried tortilla and they are rolled in an "O" shape... as every taco is.
Tacos contain very little or no vegetables, never things like lettuce and that shit taco bells put in them.
The only vegetables they have is sometimes advocado or "guacamole" which is smashed advocado with a little of onion, tomato and chiles.

If you live in the states, try to find a "mexi-cart" sitting on the side of the road. They're usually busses or RVs converted into mobile-kitchens. While I'm not completely familiar with Mexican cuisine, they seem to offer a more authentic menu than you would find at a standard US Mexican Restaurant and make tacos like Ball outlined above.. Of the ~10 I have experienced, all but 1 were very enjoyable.

Seriously? That's pretty cool. Yea, Chipotle is a Mexican food chain here in the states (similar to the QDoba restaurants) where the food has been Americanized. It's not bad, it's way better than Taco Bell. Chipotle.com is the name of their site.

Maybe it'll get better over time ? I mean, i hated every sea food until just recently.
One day i saw sushi at the supermarket. Obv tasted so bad. And thought i'd not be able to eat it again.
However, i went to a restaurant not so long ago called "Ready Made Sushi" and never felt so good after eating all this up
It was such a relief because it'd have been like i'd say : "man if one day i'll come to asia, it will be hard to eat their sushi T_T"
There's still one thing i can't get along... I'm french, and i still don't like wine... Except maybe the white wine with "foie gras" and the likes...
Will probably tastes better when i'll get used to it.

It is served either grilled or fried(i prefer the less healthy way aka fried-which has to be with olive oil-)
By the way try gyro accompanied with yogurt dill and red pepper ftw

Yea, Pho soup is the bomb. But I gotta have some of that hoisin sauce with it, along with some sriracha hot sauce. I'll put a good amount of hoisin sauce directly in the soup and then have a separate little bowl of hoisin sauce with the sriracha hot sauce so I can dip the meat in it. The combination is sick, so good....

Haha, gyros, with fries (ofc) and coke, is just heaven. They're right up there with tacos for me. Give me a gyro or taco over a burger any day.
Posted this in my blog several months ago
Nice, but what's really nice is your dad was a sushi chef. Run good much? lol
I'm actually about to go grab a gyro right now, though they keep raising the price, WTF. It used to be $7 for a huge gyro, fries, and soda combo, just back in the summer. Now, it's $8.75. Getting a little too pricey for my broke microstakes ass.

That's exactly how I eat my pho... Lots of bean sprouts, LOTS of basil, drenched with hoisin + sriracha, and that little bowl for dipping teh meatz0rz in... Fuck, man. I'm in Kuwait right now and I'm fucking CRAVING THAT SHIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Seriously? That's pretty cool. Yea, Chipotle is a Mexican food chain here in the states (similar to the QDoba restaurants) where the food has been Americanized. It's not bad, it's way better than Taco Bell. Chipotle.com is the name of their site.
i used to love chipotle but the 3 or so around where i live have seemed to turn to garbage. i dunno if they've started getting cheap on the ingredients but its gone down the shitter. way to much fat in the steak too.

Goldfish Cake.. I guess.. it's a rather enjoyable light snack.
Seol-leong Tang. Or any of its variants that uses the soup that's been boiled for hours with bones. It's rich with nutrients, and pretty thick. Quality dishes of these kinds are served with stuff like cow's tongue, and all sorts of weird parts of a cow.
Ja Jang Myun. It's a Koreanized Black Bean sauce noodles. It's cheap, and kind of like pizza to Americans, this is arguably #1 casual takeout food of Korea. We even have a day dedicated to this dish. It's called Black Day, where single people get together two months after Valentines Day (and respectively, a month after White Day) to celebrate (foreveralone, jpg) their singleness...
Jok Bal. Literally, pig feet. Uh...yeah, it's really good. I know how it's prepared and all, but don't quite know how to explain it. It's drained of all the bad fat though and grease.
Bossam. It's like, pickled cabbage (that are tender, and not salty), wrapped with spicy and pickled white radish and beef.
Gae Jang. Crabs. But, it's not cooked. I don't really know how it's prepared, but it uses soy sauce heavily and is nicknamed as the "rice thief", as it's so damn salty that it makes you gulp down a lot of rice. But it's good, it's not just like salty.. there's texture and other flavours to go with it. The best of this dish is in a season when they're fat, and full of eggs. I know this sounds disgusting to newcomers, but it's a quality dish.
Pah Jeon. Green Onion Pancake. A lot of these variants of jeons exist in Korea. All of which are good as long as they're done right. Good snacks, and potentially the best food to go along with alcohol.
Ra-bokki. A mix of ramen and tteokbokki. Kind of a street food, but you can make a quality version and it's the nuts.
Seon Dae. It's like sausage, but instead of filling it with beef, it's filled with noodles and whatnot.
Nang Myun. Literally, cold noodles. One of the favoured foods of Korea during summer time for its coolness. The soup portion is supposed served a frozen a bit for added coolness. Also popular amongst those who are on diet because it's very low on calories. Served with boiled eggs, sliced cucumber, beef etc.. Whatever else veggies that adds a cool taste is also part of it.
Tonkatsu. Japanese dish actually. It's basically beef n chips. But gewd.
Soba. Another Japanese dish. Also a favourite during summer time for its cool taste. Very simple to prepare, but so damn delicious.
Tang Seu Yeok. Koreanized Chinese dish. It's like deep fried pork with a sauce I don't know. It's good tho.
Hwae Deop Bap. It's kind of like bibimbap (if you guys know what that is..), but with sashimi.
San Nakji. Literally, live squid. Hard to find a picture that's gonna make it look good. Often served with a sesame oil, sesame seeds, and sometimes, makjang. Fun of this food is not only within its taste, but obviously its texture. It squirms in your mouth and stick to your mouth. Reading this may disgust you, but it's food enjoyed by hundreds and thousands of people and it's obviously good..so..don't knock it till you try it.
Even a little Korean girl can eat it. You can't? Shame on you.
Beef Wellington. I've had this in a fancy restaurant I went with my mother for her birthday. And damn, this was.. like really good.
French Onion Soup. I like.

That food looks delicious. Where i live there aren't any korean restaurants. I've had some oportunities to try it on my previous job, where i used to attend oil tankers, and some of them had korean crew. I remember that cold soup, slightly spicy, so good!

Some pics from my Korea trip. Figured I'd post them here:
Some sashimi. On the side is puffer fish sprinked with gold dust
More sashimi.
Street vendor food. Dukbokki (spicy rice cake) with fried squid, sausage, shrimp, etc. If you dip the fried stuff in the spicy sauce it's amazing.
This is the best beef I've ever had in my entire life. The marbling on this thing was perfect, and the price is $100 for 250grams. It literally melts in your mouth like cotton candy. Pic doesn't do justice, sorry!
Not favorite foods material, but I had the double bulgogi burger at the Korean McDonalds. It was kinda nasty because of how greasy they make it, so I'm going to spoiler it. Posting it anyway! + Show Spoiler +
A sort of meat stew. It actually had this interesting milky texture to it, but the meat was really tender and peeled right off the bone. It's a local favorite so tourists generally never find this place.
My friend's favorite dumpling place. Fried on one side, steamed on the other.
Randomly took a video of a place we were eating when the meat was still grilling. MMMMMMMMM!!!
