I still visit TL every day.
However all i do is watching streams. I think my last post on TL was in 2006 or something

Pretty much most things about the site's community have gone downhill after the release of SC2 and going mainstream. However, they do have an amazing writing/graphics team now and the quality of their articles is pretty good.

yes, TL.net is too gay. Mostly the moderation and political correctness and such. All kids taking games too seriously.

TL content is still decent but there's no denying the huge influx of young hipster children

tl sucks now.

The amount of BM I receive in an SC2 game are as follows per 10 game sample

When you win @ the end this is the results per 10 games:

6 don't type gg and leave
3 people leave with some bullshit cliche rant about imbalance death ball protoss or just insults you period
1 types gg and leaves

its incredible, if you fast exp as a zerg you will get cannon rushed 89% of the times, its ridiculous

What do you mean "now"? The whole demeanor changed after LP opened up in late 2005.

Props to all of the volunteers helping it grow over the years though.

i don't gg very often in starcraft, but i hardly BM either. i don't see why there should be a need to say gg every game.

However i get bm'd when i use certain strategies which an average person would call cheese. i don't really get why i get bm'd for this. Most of the time im cheesing someone it's because i find it to be the optimal strategy.

The amount of money that is looking to be invested into the sport of SC2 is huge. While I like the old Teamliquid better as well, I understand their reasoning. They are looking to run as a business, and businesses have to play accordingly when under sponsorship by companies.

personally, I don't think TL sucks at all. Actually I think it's better than ever for information. As a community though, its way harder to be friends with anyone there because there are 800 replies/thread which means no one will read your post if it's not on the last page

Yes i may need to clarify what I personally meant with TL not being good anymore. As a information page it's great, liquidpedia is awesome and the writers are really devoted. But in the beginning TL was a community just like LP is now, you recognize people and you can discuss things on a reasonable high level and have inside jokes. Thats not the fact on TL, i NEVER read more than OP because i know the threads ALWAYS get infested with totally utterly retards =)

so TL is nowdays a source for information and not a community imo.

TL has improved their news coverage and stuff over time for sure.. personally I stopped visiting for two reasons: community too big for a standard message board format (IMO), and I surpassed the overall age of the community. as an adult I don't feel comfortable bullshitting and cursing in front of/with teenagers. just how it is for me.


so I went and took a look at TL cuz of this blog and it isn't like there are gay sex banners.. there are like 3 or 4 gay topics out of 100000.

after reading this thread one would think LP is a pretty friendly and mature forum but if you compare it to other types of forums (not gaming) you will see LP is pretty immature/untolerant. Not speaking about me and my threads but overall. Flaming, trolling, spamming, hating - that's mostly what I see when I open random threads here. It's like people are constantly pissed off here or just trying to act cool. So I guess it's the perspective from which you look at it and with what you compare that gives LP a good image.
