Mayor of Chicago, sick with an irreversible illness similar to alzheimers/parkinsons, decides to try and hide it
from everyone to keep running the show. I found it similar to breaking bad as an individual tries to cope with
the idea of slowly dying and Grammer really does a great job.
Watched a couple episodes. Really great acting and story. Politicians lives etc.
Damages season 4 (season 5 running couple episodes)
Very underrated show. Season 3 was not as great but still ok, this season kinda picks up a bit from the past season and hopefully turns it around this season 5
i started watching a show called white collar since everyone on TL was raving about it. man its so shit. characters dont have any substance - it might be due to the terrible acting. if the show had john malkovich or someone similar playing the lead part it would be much better considering the story lines aren't all that bad

suits is not terrible but its certainly not good. no more than 6/10
its basically people waltzing around hash tag winning. character development is poor - nothing raw or real.
that being said the best character is louis by far.

'The thick of it' Is basically a tv show that has turned swearing into an artform. It's a comedy that follows the members of british government and it's filmed in documentary style kind of like the office. It's also very re-watchable because it's hard to take in everything in one viewing.
Aparrently they tried to remake a US version but it was really bad so it never got past a pilot episode.
the house of cards looks cool, tried checking tvtorrents and only 2 episodes out of the new show here, am I missing something? You wrote 13, is the 13 some old episodes ?
Show's gritty, violent plus some sexxing. One of the year's sleeper gems on tv.
(update: not too sure about this one now, its not that it's a terrible show after 2 episodes, its just that, i dunno, i feel the dialogues are kinda cheesy and the fight scenarios a bit too unrealistic. well you guys be the judge)

Just watched first episode of Narcos on Netflix. Really good, looking forward to watching the rest
rick and morty.. it's soooo brilliant. it's kinda like a darker and less inhibited futurama, but with the same genius story telling you see in the best futurama episodes.
don't judge based on the pilot though, but get through the first three episodes and hopefully you are hooked. I don't think there's ever been a show where I've been equally looking forward to new episodes.

A couple I've been watching lately, so many shows out there I can't catch up
I notice shows start off great and promising but lose steam and completely devolve to crap (heroes, limitless, last kingdom,etc)

im not so bothered about the lack of innovation, theres a reason its super popular and thats because its easy to make and its enjoyable (the genre), I enjoyed White Collar even though its not innovative.
However limitless is a pile of shit, I like Jennifer Carpenter alot and I so wanted it to be good, but I could not force myself to watch the 7th episode, kinda shocked I lasted that long.

If SYFY just started hiring great writers and get investors to ramp up budgets they could probably skyrocket to top 5 just because they can get away with anything.

it's a t.v version of this american life (Adnan Syed). the show is quite good although i wouldn't describe it as pleasurable or leisurely.
i still think mr robot and stranger things are amongst the best current television. transparent season 2 was amazing as well (even if you ignore the pc undertones the show is just the human experience distilled).

There was also a movie version back in 2008, just look for ENG Subs version. I'm sure it was worth a watch since iirc it was nominated

If you guys haven't seen Handmaiden's Tale - just do it now. This show is amazing... the director is perfect, the way how it is shot is perfect, the effects, the actors, the script (even though season 1 isn't going by the book and I really hate when people do that as they usually fail - this one I'd say is much better). It's just the most brutal drama I've ever seen
Handmaiden's Tail and Westworld best two shows out there right now.

They basically made a series about the karate kids-kids 34 years after, with the same actors involved. What I like the most about it is how they managed to modernize 80s cheesiness, like, they brought characters from 80s movies, placed them in a modern context, and made their surroundings relate to them like if it actually is 2018. It's not really brilliant, but light hearted and fun, and just 10 episodes of ~25 minutes each.

Watched the first couple episodes. Not HBO or AMC quality but was really interesting. It's about Jack Parsons, father of american rocketry and disciple of Aleister Crowley, another strange and infamous American figure who is like the MJ of occultists and heretics to this day.
I usually really hate sitcoms, the laugh at the back feels like someone is inserting a needle in my brain, that is so fuckin retarded. Friends is the only sitcom which uses that technique that I managed to go through and only cause of the superb script, jokes etc... The big bang theory I gave a shot but was ultimately super disappointed, Chuck Lorre was pure shit there, so I was quite skeptical when I heard about Young Sheldon.
Young Sheldon is about the story of Jim Parson's character from the Big Bang Theory as a young kid, it doesn't have any background laugh and the actors are doing a good job - especiially the kid playing Sheldon. It's a pretty decent sitcom if you just wanna turn your brain off at the end of the day and laugh at dumbass shit and absurd situations which could only happen in the head of some junkie script writer in Hollywood. Don't expect another "Friends" though , that aint gonna happen
Watched episode 1, got hooked, downloaded book, read it in a single go.
This is the type of thing that is so fucking good but yet so disturbing that you wouldn't recommend to anyone as it will leave them more fucked up... and the series are going into a much DARKER path than the book. Imagine True Detective Season 1 except more realistic, couldn't describe Sharp Objects better
Amy Adams is also legit one of the best actresses out there and I'm still kinda annoyed she didnt get the oscar for Arrival.

Both amazing shows Barry and Killing Eve returning for season 2 now. Also this strange Bruce Lee fictional adaptation looks good for a martial arts series, watched episode 1 so far so good.
Please watch Gomorrah season 1 to 4 if you haven't yet. It's just a masterpiece. The show is just so unbelievably good they decided to make a movie for Ciro the immortal. I just can't shut up about it and let some of you guys miss out on this. Go to the reddit sub of "gomorra" and ask around for s4 episodes but season 1 to 3 is out on tpb

Well some of the changes the writers are forced to do. I mean GoT was under attack at the beginning because of the lack of racial diversity in the main characters. Then the rape of Sansa happened and some women got offended that such scene was on screen(even some senator woman made statement). But Red Wedding was such a cool scene and nobody gave a fuck when a preggo woman got stabbed to death.
I imagine that if it was so easy to create an adaptation of a book written in polish by a polish author with slavic mythology so the world can enjoy it they would not have changed one bit from the text. But its not - this show is going to be distributed worldwide and you have to sell it so... they changed Yennefer and so on...
And dont start about GoT... its another story - im still salty :D
P.s Anyway The Witcher trailer looks good so far. Lets hope for the best.

This story should be told. The movie version (The Golden Compass) was subject of an attack by some Catholic religious civil rights league which scared Newline off from making more movies based on the other books.
"Atheism for kids" they say. And I don't know who the pope was during that time, probably Gollum, but he too with the Catholic church condemned the making of The Golden Compass.

Nothing is like The Shield level :O Its a shame The Shield its not that popular
^ I agree it's so layered and has enough action to keep you interested. Gomorrah is like the Shield in that it's the opposite of The Wire. It's insanely fast-paced with a lot of action. You get to know the characters very well by the time the season is over. Foreign shows don't follow typical Hollywood tropes which is something I enjoy
Terror Season 2 looks interesting but since it's an anthology type series I miss the creepiness of the first season and it awfully feels like watching "The Ring". This thing still has potential but I dont think it'll ever hold up to the first season/story
Succession Season 2 though is fantastic. Just like the first season. Casting and screenplay is just so on point with this one. HBO level quality shit
Started rewatching Mcmafia (what a stupid ass name for a show) and I really want to watch the second season because it's going to be awesome. I highly recommend this one guys. Location shoots from Prague, London, Mumbai, France. Cast is a bunch of unknowns but is really criminally underrated.
Peaky Blinders and The Terror turned out to be terrible this season but Succession really pulled through. What an amazing show and I recommend people look it up. This thing really surprised me a lot since I'm not really into family dramas and shit but jesus christ this series is too good. Screenplay writer loosely bases this on his previous script on the Murdoch/Redstone family which never materialized so he tweaked it a bit into this marvelous show.
