yeah i was just giving my read no the thread. im in awe its lasted 40ish pages already.

i don't really have any personal opinion on the matter. my feelings on the subject can be summed up in 3 words: the free market.

i'm not really intelligent and stuff like tomson and cant really figure out all these moral philosophical stuff i'm just a grinder.

people can sell anything they want and if people pay and are happy or pay and are unhappy i don't really see how its worthy of debate, but this might be because i'm a little more simple than most people here. i think morals get in the way of protecting the free market

smoking bans for example. i find these terribly confusing. most states in the US and a ton of euro nations are making laws banning indoor smoking just about everywhere now. i don't understand why they simply can't let the free market decide this. if people don't like businesses where you can smoke, then people will not go and eventually the businesses should have to go smoke-free to stay in business. right? this just seems more democratic than electing rep's who make laws. in fact, due to the smoking ban in some states i know you cant even smoke cigars in cigar shops despite their whole business revolving around smoking. bizarre imo.

so why doesn't everyone just relax and let the free market run its course and let any ego or moral whateverness slide.

You're not really advocating the free market when you advocate against open discussion.

Are you saying that it's ok for car companies to lie about including safety features that they actually haven't (or ones that don't work properly) to charge a higher price or sell more cars and then blame the people who buy the cars for not doing proper research when they get fucked up because of the lie? Screw them, don't let morals get in the way right?

Even in a free market like Milton Friedman styles he mentions that we do need laws to prevent false information before people can decide what they want to buy.

The smoking ban example isn't really what's going on here; it's more like the car company example. As in, Myth had outdated information on his profile (which he has corrected) and according to what has been said in this thread, according to his PTR he is a losing player at the stakes he makes videos for and/or coaches.

If people looking for coaching have this correct info about Myth and still decide to get coaching from him then that would be fine in terms of having a free market imo. What I think the issue is/was that people might not actually have had this info before getting coaching.

This thread is disastrous because of very poor moderation seriously some good points were made by both sides, Myth provided (a very poor) example of a sucess story that has not been proprely adressed because some random idiot who sees the thread for the first time posts "oh Myth can charge whatever the fuck he wants this is amerika FUK YE!" -_-

Basically I'm gonna sum up the entire 40 pages for you:

We have several main players in the thread. Mostly Baal, Myth, and Wobbly. Myth makes decent coin overcharging for poker lessons. Wobbly is jealous of all the money Myth is making and attention he's getting and wants people to pay attention to him. He keeps pointing out that Myth is overcharging and that he (wobbly) is good at poker. Baal is being Baal and trolling one side of an issue ad naseum.

We also have minor players. Sawseech has shown that he has gone absolutely batshit insane and needs some medical help. Rekrul made an appearance and trolled a little. Others have also added their two cents but its mostly a rehash of shit said before.
