Wow I couda written this. I also quitted medicine studies to live on poker ; I also had huge fights w my fatha bcuz of that ; I also went busto a few times at 25/50 . I didnt won a 1k$ mtt tho Im glad things worked out well for you GL ; Don't tilt too much baby

I'm like you in a way but to a lesser extent and without the same level of sickness. I don't participate in hand discussions too much, I can't tell you if a certain play is +ev..but if I'm sitting at the table and can feel the game flow, I can make a good judgment call.
I hope things keep going well for you! you're definitely my type of player, even the tilt stuff I can relate to.. we both need to work on it.
