just played a pvp where a guy went mast void rays? i had never seen the unit before and they just decimated by nexus and really ripped up my stalkers, counter?

A crack came out yesterday that allows you to load a single player map with any race but there's no opponent yet. It's still nice to check out the units etc. I played wc3 so I'm a bit clueless with SC but the SC2 engine feels similar to wc3.

hotkeys are effed up lol but yeah its better than nothing you can try out a little timings and sh!t

yeah. btw someone reported that changing hotkeys is possible. but editing em with winmpq kinda corrupted the file :/

the game is fun i guess for a while but it has no chance as a real esport. using 1 hotkey in max 15 minute games while one big blob attacks into another big blob is the worst thing ive ever wasted my time playing. and talk about hard counters? holy shit it's like an expansion to dawn of war.

chess players wont enjoy checker tournaments.

fingers are crossed they change a tonnnnnn of the mechanics and i dunno, make a new fucking game or something.

The hard counters are complete bullshit. They are taking a page out of the age of empires handbook (isn't ensemble defunct now?). Starcraft had soft counters. Lurkers countered marines/medics but it depended on player skill in positioning and use (For example 4 lurkers vs 12 medics 4 marines). It was exciting to watch because you didn't know how or who would win each battle. Now its "oh he has X and that beats Y." BORING.

I think its a result of the designers really wanting to make a next gen competitive game but really failing to understand why players enjoyed starcraft.

This game will still be very popular because it is very well polished and programmed... something very few games are nowadays.

isnt sc2 the most waited game of all time?

well hopefully isn't it just possible that it seems like they are leaning so much towards hard counters largely because the game is so far from being balanced?

Looking to sell my beta, study and commitment to other games means i can not dedicate myself to it as much as I would like and i really really need to purge some of my gaming habits if i am to pass this year of university. I have already registered it with my battle.net account so essentially you would be buying ownership of my b.net account for the full entirety of the beta period.

Only other game i have registered on the account is sc broodwar. I'm not sure about whether you can create a new account but its possible//probable you would not be and as such would have to use the tag "XeliN" (a super awesome special tag im sure all would agree). I bought the beta somewhat impulsively from ebay for $340

If you would like to make a bid plz PM or post here or hire a plane to pass my house and write it in smoke or something.

Hopefully I can be taken at my word although given the abundance of scammers about I would be perfectly content with having any money paid transferred initialy to a reliable Escrow who would then xfer it at the end of the beta period assuming everything has gone as planned.

I think Fayth uses a lot more infantry than me, but my typical games look like:

Wall - > Tech to Banshees -> Expo + Adapt

Banshees allow me to put a lot of pressure on and then I'm able to get a safe expo up and then just adapt based on what my opponent is doing. If a protoss sticks with stalkers you can just mass banshees and rape him. If he throws down a stargate like he should then you shouldn't make more than your initial two banshees. You can then throw down an expo and just wreck him.


Going to play some poker for a few hours and then grind out a bunch of Sc2 games, I'll try to get a replay pack posted sometime tonight.

protoss is getting so fucked wtf why did i pick protoss to play, i don't even know how the other races work.
