btw, he's almost 2Xing the side pot on the river, would he do that with a straight? Does he expect to be ahead more than 50% of hte time when he gets called if he has straight?

checkraise turn imo, if he bets the flop 15 way with a shortie in he'll bet the turn a whole lot of the time

ship river as played - tho if you check it should probably be to check/fold

His line doesn't make sense for many hands he'd shove for value.
He could've had something like a pair or a draw on flop if even that.
On the turn, his hand isn't strong enough to bet, since he doesn't want to get raised off it. Plus, he might have equity if he can push you off a hand.
If he had like midpair or top pair on flop, he might've turned a draw like a flushdraw with or without a gutshot or maybe double belly with 56 or so. Plus, he might've had A4s of diamonds (maybe offsoot too but I think he might fold that).
He can't call getting 3-to-1 if he gives up on the river without a hit. Plus, he can't really put you on anything super strong here either imo.

I think I fistpump call this river and watch him muck his A4s of diamonds.

It should also be noticed that you guys aren't playing for the sidepot alone here. You have to consider your hand winning the sidepot too. Therefore his bet isn't necessarily targeted at the sidepot alone, but he's doing what you're doing - ignoring the shortie. (Altho your wording would suggest that you folded and he ended up winning the sidepot only with hand such as the one I described above, but I guess I could just be leveling myself here)

one thing i definitely disagree with Muhwelli is that he can't put us on a strong hand
how can't he, we bet strong into a side pot of 0$

That just means you have a hand, not a hand you'd call a shove with, afterall, you just called the flop in that spot, you could have stuff like 7x, imo. When you donk the turn and check the river, you're not representing straight+ so it should be a snap call in my opinion, esp. since besides missed draws, he can have 9x he's betting for val.

no offense, this is why i don't post hands here

if i didn't know u muhweli, i would assume ur a breakeven 10nl reg that is always taking about balancing and polarizing their ranges and that crap but has no idea. I'm guessing ur a reg who has a great feel for the game but doesn't know why he does the moves he does. cause this 'analysis' is pathetic/disgraceful

/no offense tho, seriously

does villain think that we can fold 86? Villain has to have 4x or 6x of diamonds turned into a bluff here to even have a bluff. (assuming he doesnt turn 88 87s and 66 into a bluff) So how often is this a bluff? Now very often imo.

How often does villain has a 9 other than 97... 89 is just as unlikely as 88 and 66.

So folding makes a lot of sense (after thinking about the hand for 15 minutes).

But I've never played 25-50 fullring on stars before and I'm a station so I would call here knowing it's probably not a good call.

Righto, so you folded and he showed a missed draw and you're angry cuz I got to the right conclusion with the wrong trail of thought or you called and he showed a boat and thus, you can say my thought process is faulty?

It's true thought, that I don't play NL5k nor could beat it, but last I checked, neither do you. And yea, I'm probably more of a feel player.

back in the day when I played full ring, against a conventional reg this was a easy check fold

I saw the hand as it happened so I'm guessing that HERO in the hand is NOT Steal city... Hero used someone else's id to post here to protect his identity?_?

AndrewSong    United States. Apr 02 2009 14:31. Posts 2355

I like the way you played it but you screwed up on the betsize and made the hand alot harder for you to play. If your going to donk out the turn you have to bet bigger to protect ur hand against set. Your not folding out hands that'll call on turn by betting bigger. Then river would've played it self and gave you no room to fold. as played river is fold > call

AndrewSong    United States. Apr 02 2009 14:47. Posts 2355

Btw your letting him play perfect by betting 2/5 pot on turn. Any set will get there 1.5/5 of the time and if you call here and he shows a boat you just self owned your self

There are 3 46s combos that you beat and they're not 100% in the playing range preflop and also he's more likely to check 46 than a set imo. The flop bet is crucial to determine his range. There is no 9x in it as bluffing is beyond retarded. 33 55 77 99 are 10 combos. 97s is close to impossible. Easy fold imo.
