i respect people who truly dont give a fuck about what others think. even when im expressing my own opinions im still striving for some sort of "i want people to like me" and looking for acceptance. nick diaz just doesnt give any fucks, says exactly what he feels/thinks and everyone loves him for it.

Well thats pretty obvious, only way of literally not giving a fuck is if you were a sociopath which he s not. He just grew up in the ghetto and society had its pressure on him hence the anger and disrespect towards any authority. I do like the way he acts to a certain point, but he s probably doing it for the wrong reasons as well. I'd say he s the way he is because of fear mainly, but thats pretty understandable
Also you re pretty fast on jumping the gun Baal, some people just dont have as open mindsets as yours that doesn't instantly mean they are pathetic cause of the way they are. I m as narcissistic as you are but that's a problem and it should be fixed |

I think he's more fun than most to watch and listen to, since it's all out there, you can notice when he's lost in thought, when he's lying, when he's trying to sound smart, when his mind is just grabbing whatever floats into his consciousness "let's say this!", and even though that sounds quite stupid, he kinda rolls with it lol.
Fighters that turn me off the most are the ones who go all biblical after a fight, and start screaming "Thank you Jesus, Thanks to GOD I won!". I start tossing and turning so much, scrambling to get out of the couch and turn that shit off, or fast forward through lol. |

One is a dick to his fighting opponents (and almost never after the actual fight) and his bosses...while his most serious actual trouble with the law has been a DUI for weed. The other is a wild looking bear of a russian...who's actually killed an actual bear by stabbing it in the heart apparently...and someone who went to jail for several years in gdamn russia over shady circumstances. Solid relate-able comparison in this 'no fucks given' talk.

The part where maybe he's sometimes trying to sound smart...I think sometimes it just seems like the wheels in his head are trying to turn but he doesn't know how to express what he wants to say properly. So it comes out uneducated, borderline retarded sometimes and shit. Which he is (uneducated) and he even admits to it.
140% agreed with your second part. God helped me bash another human being's skull in because he loves me so much more than that other guy. Such an inherently mind bogglingly stupid way of thinking that I can never even root for one second for fighters who are like that.
Taking away other stuff...in terms of why any of us here, watching this sport, talking about it..etc. What's the one reason? Entertainment no? People who seem to hate on Nick so much...I really don't get it. You'd really rather watch someone who does the above? Or someone who talks a bunch of shit then goes out and doesn't show up on fight night...stalling rounds...laying and praying....running around the octagon....or basically just gives up trying to win after a couple of rounds? Or maybe someone like Phil Davis who's trash talk stems purely from someone else's idea that it'd be good for his business...then goes out and tries to hug a guy all night. To each his own I guess.

Something interesting about this weigh-in is that Lineker missed weight by 4 pounds, Brandao came in 3 pounds underweight, and Gastelum missed weight by 9 pounds.
Lineker seemed like he was full of energy, so he'll probably go hard in round 1 tomorrow. Lineker hasn't missed weight by this much before, so I'm not sure what his deal was.
Brandao has had problems with making weight in the past, and he's never came in underweight, so I'm not sure what's wrong.
News came out before the weigh-in that Gastelum had a tough time making weight, so he was expected to miss weight. It's unclear whether the original news about him being hospitalized is true or not. Either way, his body didn't look great, and he looked like a puppy that was scolded by its owner.
