I'm quite sure whoever joins this will get decent cash from both the television station and sponsors. Of course nothing near the full buyin, but every million helps!

This is certainly sick. I would put my money on Ivey just b/c he does not give a shit about the money and he is the best NLHE tourney player in the world. He has said many times that there is no amount of money he would not play for.

Mig I wish you had read my short yet clear post properly =( I didn't say Hellmuth had played for that, I read him speak of the biggest pot he'd ever seen/heard lost/won. I never mentioned anything about him playing in it, I severely doubt he'd want to even if he could.

not all who wander are lost

Soah, the biggest pot ever lost 'most likely' is the biggest one won as well

i dont see how this is possible though
i doubt this will happen

10 million buyin? thats more than 1st in last wsop with 6000 players ~_~
it would make wsop 2006 prizes seem like pocket change

and theres no way any poker pro has enough money for this or would get sponsors or backings for that much money

Phil Ivey, the most successful pro with announced earn of 30 million dollars a year can hardly afford this game. Think about it, if you earn 100k a year, which isn't bad at all, would you dedicate 1/3 of that, 30-35k on a chance to sextuple up that has less than a 50% chance of working?

The difference is the person with 100k is still balancing the checkbook, clipping cupons, etc. I'm almost positive Ivey earns more then 30 million a year (apparell, marketing for fulltilt), and even if he did, having 20 million left is still a huge amount of money. Todd Brunson won 16 million in one night; I bet Ivey comes close to that many nights.

I'd put my money on Ivey winning anyways.

When todd brunson won that he didnt pocket the entire 16 million, he was playing for the corporation so he only got his share of it.

10 Million dollar buy in. Now that's a ridiculous no matter how I look at it. Wow, I wonder how many people will actually sign up except for stupid billionares.

Ivey will put that up easily. Ted Forrest is one of the richest players actually, I remember reading about him, that when the other pros were struggling against Andy Beal, playing him with their combined roll one at a time, Ted juts joined in the game with his bankroll.
Doyle and Reese surely have more than enough to play, but I doubt they will do it, except if they get a really nice deal from the sponsors. Most of the other big pros got the money, but I doubt they will be willing to put it in there..

Actually, I really doubt this game will be played.. Maybe if they make some huuuuge qualifiers for 1-2 seats or some pros divide the fee 3-4way or something.
But now that I think of it, quite a lot of the big players are real gamblers... For example I wouldn't be surprised if Sammy Farha, Gus Hansen or Daniel Negreanu decided to join, not really caring that they've put a huge part of their bankroll..

One very suspicious player

Jennifer Harman is noted to of won the biggest cash pot ever, i think it was like 1.6mil. One of those random facts they post during the WSOP.

a mans character is stripped bare at the poker table; if the other players read him better than he does, he has only himself to blame. Unless he is both able and prepared to see himself as others do, flaws and all, he will be a loser in cards, as in lifeLast edit: 13/12/2005 19:08

Where did this info come from, what source?

I imagine 6 players will sign up, as it's a 6-player tournament
