Rakeback pro... fuck off. by SmokingDough, June 02

The last two days Ive been a serious rakeback pro! Ive put in two of the biggest sessions Ive played in a while and have been dead breakeven. Its gross. I get up and coolered time and time again

Today I put in the largest session I have ever played and it was just a swingy ass day. Im still down for bi's but I dont think I got any gas left for today so Im gonna crash and get back at it.

Jealous by Sicks Macks, June 02

Reading this thread makes me incredibly jealous. It's amazing how far poker has progressed in only a few years. Judging by some of the posts, 3/6 was roughly equivalent to 0.05/0.10 now. Microgrinders take note, even some LP legends were saying things like "I hate players who chase gutshots" and "I'm grinding 3/6 on a $5000 roll". Fun stuff, wish I played then.

Month 5 graph by vegable, June 01

Well, I attempted NL100 at the beginning of the month and was pretty comfortable. Lasted about 8k hands before having to drop back down to get my bearings on.

I played some more NL50 and gained enough momentum in the middle of May to try again. Since then I've been more or less treading water (or slowly sinking depending on how you look at it). Its great that I'm lasting longer this time around but its pretty obvious I have some evaluating to do with my game. For the month of June I will beat NL100 for 3pt/bb with solid skillz. I'm gonna barf if I have to take aNOTHER 6 months to beat this limit lol. Starting -2bi under EV for June, w00000t

May + Bump [check last blog :-) ] by killThemDonks, June 01

May was decent. Near the end I lost pace on my goal of playing 100k+ hands so I'll try to do that this month. Played around 60k hands of NL20 and the rest NL50. I feel I have a decent edge on each of these limits so hopefully I'll be able to take some NL100 shots in a week or so.

For June, I have no expectations money wise...just goinna grind and try to play good poker

Day 1 by Stageus, June 01

Day 1: 1.6.09

First day of my two month long session wasn’t exactly how I planned, but it doesn’t mean that something bad happened. I have continued watching Brystmar’s series on CR and I have started reading Justin Zee’s post on 2+2 forum. It’s really interesting and I recommend read it to all players!(here is the link).
In the afternoon I played two satellites on CakePoker. First was 5$ rebuy to daily 10k GTD freezout with 50+5$ buy-in and second was 6$ rebuy to weekly 50k GTD freezout with 100+9$ buy-in. In first tournament I was doing well but I stacked out in one hand where I had ATo on CO and BB was blind all-in. Player on UTG limped in and because of large side pot I decided to push it (my stack was above average). But UTG player called me and showed AKo and his hand hold up. In the second tournament only first player won the ticket and try guess how I finished :-). In very last hand of HU I had pocket nines and reraise all- in my opponent, who had raised from button. He called and showed pocket tens and won the ticket. I took 50$ for second place.
Other plans which I had for today and wrote yesterday I haven’t done yet. It’s because my roommate and very good friend has come and he told me about some problems he has now. So we were talking and then also started drinking...
Tomorrow I have volleyball tournament. It will be all day so I hope I will at least read some articles in the evening or finally set up my Holdem Manager and prepare it for my first on-line session.

Good night

May + WSOP by remember87, June 01

May was bad or nonexistent or w/e you call it. I had a couple of bad days in the beginning of the month and then decided to study and do other stuff instead of trying to grind it back. So I only managed to play 6k hands and ended up with a few BI loss.. Guess May has never been an inspiring month for my poker..

BUT!

Right after my final exame now on thursday this will change!
I will try and kick the summer off with a lot of grinding. Hopefully I can get a bet in with a friend who can get the most hands in during week 24. That would boost my grindingmode and my pokermood tremendously!

Then hopefully its Vegas baby! I have dreamed about it for a while now and it would be so much fun to go there! If its on I guess I will go at the end of week 25 to somewhere in week 29. No exact dates decided yet though.

Guess most of it depends on where I´m going to stay. I want to sleep in a nice house etc, cant do it 3-4 weeks at an hotel!
I talked with pinball if I could sleep at their place but I havnt gotten an answer yet. That would be sick fun since I know atleast Sakii too will be staying there!

If that doesnt work out, do you guys have any suggestions? Do any of you want to rent a house or does anyone has a room/bed etc to spare?

I will be deciding my Vegas-plans sometime in week 24. I´ll keep you posted!

Cheers!

May Recap etc. by Fayth, June 01

Well I was fairly busy during May, I think I probably played no more than 40k hands total, I had a few days off due to helping my uncle doing the renovations in my new house and preparing the 25th anniversary of my parents.... I still managed to play enough and despite not living up to my goal It is still a decent month of +95 000$ here's my graph on party for the month
http://img12.imageshack.us/img12/4082/swingymay.jpg

as for WSOP, well I'm not showing up in vegas at all this year, new house, 25th anniversary of my parents, my dad's turning 50 yrs old on july 7th as well... so yeah kind sucks but I'll see a bunch of you at the next PCA I guess, I definitely don't plan to miss next year's WSOP. Good luck to all those who are participating.

Some bad news here, I got told 1 week ago that my mother had breast cancer, she's starting chimo in 2 weeks, we're all still pretty positive and hope It's all going to be fine, I have a friend who I have been friend with for 10 yrs who lost his mother from the same cancer about 9 years ago.... he told me he hopes for the best and to spend the most possible time with my mother while she's alive or else I might regret it, I will definitely follow this advice. I still really hope she's going to heal.

Anyways, I'll be kinda busy in June too, I'll still try my best to make a 6 figures month.

GL guys, thx for reading

NL25 Again by LemOn[5thF], June 01

http://www.liquidpoker.net/user_pictures/e4e8675bba6fd359e352c830373dc629.png

So I tried to return to NL25 Today and it went good. I was even above EV, which is surreal really.

http://www.liquidpoker.net/user_pictures/bd6291bf6fe797b4eee38d26f14d4b21.jpg
The changes
As you can see above, I abandoned my attempts to play LAG at NL25.

It was just too much variance and people are much bigger stations than I ever acknowledged.
I will cut back on Cbets a little bit, and prefer to have at least some gutshot when attempting them, or a very obvious board. I will not double barrel without at least 8 outs.

I cut tables to 6, raise 4BB+XBB again and apply brutal table-selecting methods (45tables in 3 hours total today-one fish minimum).

From now on, I am also completely Ignoring Results and judge a hand only by my line and EV prior to shoves.

You will not see me posting results unless I want to brag.

Life and Stuff
I am moving in with my girlfriend on Friday for the first time. We got ourselves a nice £430 per month flat.

Fairly big Bedroom, open plan Kitchen/lounge and a friendly private landlord, meaning no fees or extensive paper work.

Looking forward to it really, my life was such a mess when I was living alone past 3 years.

I still don't have the intern ship so my main goal after I move will be finding a job.

I also hope to achieve Supernova before I get it, as poker is much more pleasant when you have a decent rakeback and you have those sexy red stars at NL25.

LemOn out.

Vegas and stuff by SakiSaki, June 01

So I have finally planned out my trip to vegas for the wsop. Basicly I feel sick motivated to play a bunch of donkaments and I am planning on taking this trip pretty seriously. I mean, last time I was in vegas I woke up at 3pm everyday and played 5/10 at the wynn all night and/or got drunk somewhere. Not saying it wasnt awesome but I just feel like taking the poker a bit more seriously this time around. Ive also been working out alot lately trying to lose some weight and I definitely dont wanna ruin all of that by degening it up completely in vegas so Im probably gonna try and find a good gym where I can blow of some steam and stay in shape.

Looks like I will be staying with milkman, mezmerizeplz and their entourage in their house so this trip cant not be awesome

I will be arriving to vegas on the evening of the 14th of june, and here are the events i plan on playing:

Mon, Jun 15th No-Limit Hold’em (Event 32)$2,000

Tue, Jun 16th No-Limit Hold’em (Event 34)$1,500

Thu, Jun 18th No-Limit Hold’em (Event 36)$2,000

Sat, Jun 20th No-Limit Hold’em (Event 39)$1,500

Sat, Jun 27th No-Limit Hold’em (Event 51)$1,500

Mon, Jun 29th No-Limit Hold’em (Event 54)$1,500

Tue, Jun 30th No-Limit Hold'em / Six Handed (Event 56)$5,000

Fri, Jul 3rd World Championship No-Limit Texas Hold'em (Event 57)$10,000

Total buyins: $25,000

Obviously(or rather hopefully) I wont be able to play all of these as they are 3 day events and im really hoping to get deep in some of em. I played pretty poorly in ept copehagen and it became very obvious how uncomfortable I am with playing live compared to online so I am definitely going to focus on not being such a nit/retard.

Gogo one time imo, see you all in vegas!

shameless plug by leiabrother, June 01

my dad's company just came out with a media box that is 12381723 times better than that 100$ crap Western Digital is selling.

it's on newegg for 219.99$.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16882591001&Tpk=kaifa

it's a pretty sick device and i think it's definately more than 2.2x better than the western digital.

time for all to gogogogoogo and buy!

Day 5 - For the struggling. by edzwoo, June 01

I only played about 1k hands today, but I ran really good and played really well. One thing that annoyed me a bit is that I missed a river shove for about half a buy-in. Other than that.

One thing that regulars never do at these limits is overbet the pot. I post a ton of hands where I overbet vs fish and get paid off by worse, but I don't think I've ever seen anyone else at my limit do this yet. There are also a ton of great overbetting spots vs regs for value or as a bluff; and the great part is, you don't have to balance it at small stakes. Once someone gets their ABC game down really well, they have to seriously stop limiting themselves to things that were once unheard of.

Two things people have to do:
1. Take the word, "standard," out of their poker diction.
2. Stop doing things robotically. Just because you ran a bluff at one table doesn't mean you're not playing robotically. Every single time you miss a +EV spot, it directly affects your winrate. Nitty 24-tablers have marginal winrates because it's impossible to keep track of every single +EV situation. There are so many that they just grab the biggest +EV opportunities and ditch all the marginal ones that require more attention. This means a low winrate.

These two articles on LP are extremely important for people in the small-med stakes area (not microstakes)
http://www.liquidpoker.net/pokerartic...84/The_Exploitive_vs_Optimal_Approach
http://www.liquidpoker.net/pokerarticle/365045/Advanced_Fundamentals

The second article is essentially blueprints on how you can go about exploiting people.

Anyways, this post was originally intended to just post today's session, but I just ended up spewing my thoughts. Here's a fun hand and the results for today:
