This is explained a whole lot more into detail in the books
Its explained why it worked that way and also why Bronn choose to stand up for the imp
In the movies it looks like everything developed by chance and he stands up for him cause he likes him when they did hang out earlier episodes in the nights watch.
In the books it becomes clear that Tyrion had a detailed masterplan to get out of prison( which included some gambels) right from the beginning when he called for mort to the end when the fight actually happend.
The TV Series is brilliant without knowing the books.
However the whole thing becomes incredible epic with getting detailed background knowledge of what the characters actually thought during the actions u see in the films
I recomment everyone who doesnt know the books to buy or pirate them and reread the chapter after every episode to get a nice " aha" thats why effect |

Yeha and i also watched episode 7 and it was incredible !
The outrage of -the Khal- was so sick
I actually had an urge to bow down in front of my computer and swore an oath to the Khal to take part in the killings and murder he will unleash upon the enemies of his khaleesi
Overal Game of Thrones TV Series is probably the best fantasy stuff ever brought to a screen |

lol i was able to stop myself from watching ep 7 for like 30 minutes.
gotta love the small references for the bookreaders (imo osha referred to rattlecage).
Dont really get/like the theon attention. he doesnt do anything special in book one.
The khalrage reminded me of the haka.
watch the review from http://www.youtube.com/user/OtakuASSEMBLE after seeing ep 7.
that guy is hilarious! |

You're confusing Bronn with Yoren there, although they indeed looked a bit similar on screen (Tyrion hung out with Yoren in the Night's Watch, joking around at the table at Benjen Stark's expense, etc.).
Bronn is one of the sellswords that answered Catelyn's call at the "Inn of the Crossroads" in hopes of getting some money out of it (well, he's a sellsword afterall). If you remember, he gave up his room for Tyrion in exchange for his money just mere minutes before...that's to portray how "loyal" sellswords can be
It is indeed explained better in the books, the whole idea of Bronn standing behind Tyrion is that he's expecting a lot of money in return - he's Tyrion's only chance to get out of that situation, and "a Lannister always pays his debts". He's unlikely to get the same amount of money out of Catelyn (most would be a few words of thank you, Starks and their honor's influence), that's why he changes sides again. |

Spoilers below for episode 7!

Fucking this was like the worst part of reading the book for me; when Ned gets backstabbed by Littlefinger I was like fuuuuuuu. He was by far my favorite character in the book. Hate the damn Lannisters .

ep 6 spoiler/question:
+ Show Spoiler +
In ep 6 when Ned was reading out of the baratheon lineage "... *name* black of hair.... Joffrey Baratheon golden head". Just want to be clear, he's Jaime + Cersei's son..? And what about the other children the king and Cersei are supposed to have?
I'll have to start reading the books =]

Yea, from what I understood, the kids parents are Jamie + Cersei. When Ned read the part about the hair color, I instantly thought about Jamie + Cersei boning in that room back at Ned's home. |

Sick episode.
3 more episodes left, I think we'll see episode 10 end with Khal Drogo's army crossing the river and seeing the land they're about to attack, or maybe his army will be setup right outside of the city wall of the kingdom he'll attack, but no major battle in season 1. |

Dunno when the next season is yet, they usually say when or give hints of the next season on the season finale of HBO shows.
From Wikipedia: "Game of Thrones has been extremely well received critically, and has already garnered a loyal fanbase. The series was picked up for a second season on April 19, 2011, just two days after its premiere."
Also, Sky Atlantic produces an extension series called Thronecast: The Official Guide to Game of Thrones, presented by Geoff Lloyd which is made available on the show's website as well as through the UK iTunes store. Each episode features episode analysis and a cast interview.

If you're talking about me, then no, I haven't read the books, and with the 2 replies that people made after I made my post, I'm apparently way off of what I thought was going to happen.
IMO, I think the perfect cliff hanger would be Khal Drogo to finally get his army across the sea, and then we see him about to attack Kings Landing or wherever, and then season 1 ends and we see a clip of season 2. Apparently the people who read the books think otherwise. |
