from my own point of view, i think ptr is very interesting
but you cant really disagree with ket's point if you think about it objectively

It'll probably become a pay site sooner or later..for better or worse. I guess I have mixed feelings about it. When I first started using the buddy list I thought it was the nuts, but now I could live w/o it. I'm pretty sure I'd survive, anyway. Maybe they really can add some type of privacy feature.... but the whole hand history/data mining business they have going...now that seems to be crossing the line...but I"m guessing this sort of thing has been going on for years, no?

ptr didn't exist until they had the image recognition software necessary to perform the datamining; before players could datamine on sites like FTP/party/UB but they had to actively be on the site, usually logged in, so the site could monitor their behavior. of course, TOS changed and popular software changed with it and, in turn, so did typical user behavior.

enter ptr. ptr is just a couple dozen machines running multiple spawned virtual machines, endlessly screenscraping everything, selling hands, printing money. oh, and they let u know when someone is on, exactly what tables they're on, how much they're up or down today, and u can even buy their hands and put them in ur software. it's a hack. the shit makes me want to open 8 smurf accounts.

PTR is the right direction for online poker , i thinks, leaderboards like a videogame , in 50 years the whole fucking world will be addicted to videogames......

This a pretty neat representation of the games but it does seem awfully bad for getting action

PTR is by far the site i visit most often. Before LP, good, youtube and wikipedia ^_^

PTR lets me know if im playing a hit-n-runner so i dont have a prob with it

so i noticed you can literally find anyones PTR on LP using the hand history, by looking up their opponent and looking up their biggest pots.
