so i noticed you can literally find anyones PTR on LP using the hand history, by looking up their opponent and looking up their biggest pots. |

I look up dogmeat's hands on LP and pick a big one. Then I find the opponent on PTR and dig up the same hand and find dogmeat's screen name, then I look up dogmeat's screen name on PTR and find his inside leg measurement and how many sugars he ahs in his tea. Seems like a lot of work for some stalking but it's a good point. |

PTR is the right direction for online poker , i thinks, leaderboards like a videogame , in 50 years the whole fucking world will be addicted to videogames...... |
Maybe too much time behind the screen, i thinks.
Dude, there will be other activities that people do that does not include computers or any nintendos...
PTR is maybe EV+ for a while but it just will not do good in the long run.
Dont we have a lot of warning examples allready in poker and irl?
PTR makes competition tougher and makes losing players stop poker.
So which is more important: To see names on leaderboard or keep games running?
I would not bee too happy about losing 3000$ a month if all the people close to me knew about it eh?
The thing that would benefit everybody would be that ratings would start from say 5kNL.
This would make a good leaderboard for the top level, as in others sports, but would keep the
lower limit games running, which are vital to the whole functionality of poker.
When there is low limit action, there will be games at higher stakes aswell.
This system is working pretty well in other sports, practicly any sport in fact. The amateurs play for
the enjoyment without the leaderboards and the pro-levels are the ones with the competion and the leaderboards.
Poker does not differ much from any business actually. The customer is still the king. If the customer is not satisfied,
everybody knows what will happen. The money to the system is not falling from the skies.

oh, so you belive it hurts pro players, but those in NL5k should suffer anyway. They've made enough.

yes, every fish knows PTR, every fish brags about his PTR graphs to others - cause loosing is such a desirable thing and they all know they loose and check their PTR graphs daily - that's obv why they play. to keep track of their loses
