I decided to give Death Note a go. It has me hooked after about 7 episodes. Well before 7 but the last ep was extra good. |

I rewatched it after many years to see how it holds up. It's pretty good, you have to suspend your disbelief in many occasions though. At some point, + Show Spoiler +
after a main character dies, around episode 25 I believe, the show becomes realllyyy bad and I had to stop watching soon after.
I also rewatched Monster. It's very good.

I thought it starts going a bit downhill with all the Yotsube stuff but it is hard to keep a story like that going. How great is L though? Seriously, such a great character. I may continue watching to see how this N and the ginger stuff develops but it's not like they are going to replace L. Impossible.
I can watch Monster on youtube so that is cool.

My Summer of Love was good. There is a scene where they are smoking cigarettes, drinking cognac, and dancing to Edith Piaf. That is my shit! They are just generally doing awesome things, getting into things. Mona is a bit naive but a bit fun and crazy. Tamsin is the cultured provocateur who is a little bit fucked up. Mona's brother is the formerly jailed violent criminal who is now a born again douche. It's all a lot of fun. |

I see you're still wading through my ratings list. A new addition as of yesterday: Bicycle Thieves. My first Italian neorealism film. Fairly short movie about a guy who can't find a job in post-WW2 Rome. He has two kids and a wife to his charge. He ends up being lucky getting a job posting advertisements around the city. Many other people want the job but he ends up getting it first. The one requirement is that you need a bike. He gets his bike back from the pawn shop, starts working, but his bike is stolen after the first day of work and so he has to find it or his family will starve. It's a harsh movie about the tragedy and unfairness of life, executed masterfully.

No. Looks like a polarizing one. I like Jennifer Lawrence and Javier Bardem. I don't really go out to the movies though. I don't really know why not. I would rather see a movie in a theatre and don't mind if I have to go alone. I think it is mostly that I don't like a lot of movies. I would have loved to watch Manchester by the Sea in theaters for example but I just would not have known about it. I don't keep track of those things.
The fact that a lot of people really don't like it I don't know exactly what that means. It could be a good thing. |

Well the "progressive propaganda " (lol Baal) is that the movie is a metaphor of us destroying earth
But IMO is mostly irrelevant as it's extremely vague metaphor that I only knew about after the fact.
It's like watching a demolition of a building and saying it symbolizes death and old age. "Ah ok. Cool. Nice demolition though". |

@rkid
I go to the movies 1-2 times a week, mostly alone because I prefer too. I like my back corners in theaters, crappy cinema that no one goes to (being alone in a theater room is the nuts). I have one buddy I go with a good chunk of the time with, since we share the same pleasures/rules. going with others is tidious, since they usually want to sit in the middle, usually next to other randomos. Ask stupid questions during movies, don't respect the comfort of an empty seat in between (think of the arm rests bruhs) and most importantly, if one doesn't enjoys the movie, it can ruin it for the other. |
