Personally something dies. But as long as you can move past that, it can work. Totally differs from couple to couple.

I guess it depends on the level of cheating and even what you consider cheating? Like a drunk kiss/make out is something that's obviously easier to get past then full on sleeping with someone?

Personally I don't think I'd be able to go forward with a girl who cheated on me. But that's just me.

Depends on you. I would not tolerate that for myself unless the agreement was to be an open couple. Trust just goes away and that's just so important.

way too dependent on circumstances to give a black and white answer imo, there's just a billion variables between different couples. i'd say usually no, but sometimes yes/maybe.

When a man cheats he is usually just horny/drunk, and will even be more loving of his partner afterwards out of guilt.
When a woman cheats, she will never be able to respect his partner again.

You can forgive them, but that doesnt mean you can go back to having the same relationship afterward. There needs to be mutual respect as well as trust/love and for me the respect was never regained. Ofc your situation is different than mine, make your own judgement. Are you proud shes your girl still?

Odd timing, I just found out yesterday my long term live in g/f of the last 8 years cheated on me about 4 years ago. She had a one-night stand with some guy at a bar. I also found out she's made out with several other guys under similar conditions. An old coworker told me he hit it twice several years ago, but she says he's lying and he is rather ugly, kinda hard to believe. But the timing of it all and his absolutely confident nonchalant manner in telling me about it seemed genuine. And to top it all off, I'm actually the guy who she was cheating with on her previous boyfriend. Sooooooo.... there's that.
