Okay well I am a fucking idiot so I did it again. Was up 5.4k on the month before yesterday and after yesterday was down -80 dollars. How it is possible to do twice in the matter of weeks I do not know.

Words can't really describe how I felt after these 2 separate sessions. I basically played like 7k hands in the afternoon and lost 3k and was sad, hung out with a girl and then decided to give it another go and lost 2.5k more. After I finally quit I just layed in bed and contemplated what to do next. If there was ever a chance I was going to do suicide in my life, this was as close as I could have been. Luckily I didn't leave my apartment, didn't leave the bed, instead just loaded up a movie and tried to fall asleep. The feeling in my stomach was just an aching one and in my head was a feeling of doubt/wonder. Wondering if I could still win at poker again, wondering if poker was for me still, wondering if I should just quit and get a job and say fuck it. I really don't know If i can put myself through that again to be honest, and I am trying to figure out a way to fix this in the future. I have a bunch of bets still this month on me getting to 10k made at nl100 and I am still confident I can make it. After today I am up around 500 dollars total. The climb up will be harder now but it is one I think I can make and succeed at and ultimatly accomplish. I appreciate the many people posting kind words towards me through 2p2 and friends calling me to make sure I am okay. Defintly makes me feel better about the whole situation. I do thank the people that read and comment on my blog also! Until next time

Since I think you're a pretty nice guy joe and I don't have any $ bet against you I'll give you some advice: Use a fucking stop loss at like 10 buyins, then QUIT that day if you hit it.
I think you have some pretty sick potential if you kept a stoploss. Tough session but gl with hitting the 10k mark.

i definately could never ever handle this.

i lost 4 nl200 BI's 2 days ago and i felt like shit after that. No possible way i continue playing this game after 54 BI loss.

are you ever going to learn how to play well instead of playing a million hands? Nobody can really have a 54 buy ins downswing on these stakes unless you're making very obvious huge mistakes and/or have tilt issues

how does a stoploss matter. It doesnt matter when you play its the same EV. Not like you're going to run better in the next 10 hours.

yeah its retarded to think that it doesn't matter when you play. Let's also forget he won 46 buyins in his last blogpost, he obviously is making " obvious mistakes" and doesn't know how to play holdem after thousands of hands.

terrybunny19240   United States. Jul 07 2009 21:06. Posts 13829

are you like the sickest troll of all time?

I feel for ingram, but this kind of variance is not normal and is not attributable to variance at all.

street_hooker   Andorra. Jul 07 2009 21:09. Posts 505

lol so win money = good play
lose money = tilt /bad play

he wins 46 buyins and hes an amazing poker player then loses a lot of buyins and it's all because of mistakes.

open a bunch of nl100 tables. Whats the reg to fish ratio? Are you saying it's impossible to get coolered multiple times? You even posted a blog about your downswing where you said you always thought people who have it are just playing bad until the point where you had one of your own.

i think it would be difficult to play 100% on such a downswing. i def think a stop-loss would help.. at least then u can assure urself ur playing as level headed as possible

it doesnt matter when u r 100% mentally stable and dont care at all for money and losing like 20 buy ins won mess with ur head
otherwise stoploss is good coz most ppl get off their game once they lose 5-6 buy ins and start tilting spewing etc and im pretty sure this guy did the same thing

This swings are unreal sick

firat 17K hands breakeven -> 9K hands 46BI upswing woot ???? ( I really wonderd how nobody noticed how sick unreal that is) -> followed by a 13K hands 54BI downswing ????

U see what i did there with A8 ? He 4 bets and there we go insta jam A8 : ---booooom -- . hahahaha ( Krantz)

anyway Joe just stop playing when u know ur about to tilt off a lot of cash
also going to bed watching a movie wont really help u through ur stupidity .. im not trying to insult u but to actually help u
set up some ground rules and follow em

also yeah -54 bi session playing good getting coolered & losing a lot of flips is probably possible but somehow i doubt the chance of that happening is more than 1 in a billion

how decent does he have to be to win 46 buyins in like one session? there was obviously a ton of variance involved in that. if you can win 46 with variance why wouldn't you be able to lose around the same amount

it's hard to have 54 buy in downswing at almost any stake

It matters because when people are losing they take more risks in order to try and "win it back" or "get back to even" as they say. Often sacrificing +EV and increasing variance greatly. A player who when in the right mindset might say a shove is very thin in a particular spot may very well change that opinion to this is an auto-shove spot or convince themselves to do so more often.

Also, Agree with Fayth 100%. We should just rename him The Truth.

yeah exactly what fayth said... i mean wtf how do you not have a stoploss or learn how to stop when you are tilting/playing bad because that is clearly what it is

if you cant learn that then maybe poker isnt for you

Don't play fold equity on turns so much as A) B) dont try to make advanced plays that you do on regular basis because most NL100 ppl don't really understand jackshit what ur doing and wont ever fold.

and C) Tighten up a bit and stop calling 3bets loose OOP.

Seriously wtf u want to commit suicide for a 5k$ loss ? Youd rather stop poker right now because:
A- youll nutpeddle and dont make it to higher stakes or
B- youll make it to higher stakes and will commit suicide on your first 20k$+ downswing

Either way its a lose-lose situation imo. But on a more serious note, just get a std job and keep poker as a hobby.

Odds are exactly 50%: it either happens or not

seriously, no offense at all but you're probably playing poker really badly, try to cut on the tables, learn how to play VERY WELL, then u can add a bunch of tables and play tons of hands

Im not sure what to do tomorrow when I see her, should I shake her hand?? -Floofy

Spitfiree   Bulgaria. Jul 08 2009 07:15. Posts 9634

Fayth is definitely right
i doubt there is anyone in the world who can 24 table and be on his A game
maybe Elky is the only guy that can do it but somehow i still doubt he s playing his best

cant u just think of some rules for urself ?
smtng like this for example :
- 10 buy in stop loss
- quit tables every time u feel u r not playing well
- quit tables every time u feel u r about to tilt
- dont play a session longer than lets say 2 hours , altho 2-3 hours is optimal for me but im 6 tabling so im not put under a lot of pressure , but thats me so u should try and see whats best for you
- drop down to 6-9 tables or smtng srsly.
