- A UFC Bantamweight Championship bout between current champion Cody Garbrandt and former champion T.J. Dillashaw was expected to take place at this event, possibly as the headliner. However, on May 23, Garbrandt withdraw due to a back injury and the bout was scrapped.
- A welterweight bout between former UFC Welterweight Champion Robbie Lawler and former UFC Lightweight Championship challenger Donald Cerrone was originally booked for UFC 205. However, Lawler pulled out to take a little more time after losing his title via knockout at UFC 201. The fight was rescheduled to take place at this event. Reports began to circulate on June 28 that Cerrone had sustained a minor injury and that the pairing would be left intact, but expected to shift to UFC 214 three weeks later. UFC President Dana White confirmed later that Cerrone in fact had a staph infection and a pulled groin, and while the plan is to keep the bout, it won't happen at UFC 214.
- Alan Jouban was expected to face Brian Camozzi at the event. However on June 6, it was announced that Jouban pulled out due to a broken foot. Jouban was replaced by The Ultimate Fighter Nations: Canada vs. Australia welterweight winner Chad Laprise on June 8.
- With so many injuries to the card, the UFC brought in 4 fighters who will make their UFC debut against each other on 8 days notice: Cody Stamann, Terrion Ware, Trevin Giles, and James Bochnovic.
- A UFC Women's Bantamweight Championship bout between current champion Amanda Nunes and multiple-time muay thai world champion Valentina Shevchenko was scheduled headline this event.[5] The pairing met previously in March 2016 at UFC 196, with Nunes winning by unanimous decision.[6] However, the bout was canceled just hours before the event started due to Nunes being ill.

I find Nunes obnoxious, that bullshit she pulled in the weight ins with Holly, which is just a sweetheart, was pathetic. Valentina has so much potential marketing wise, I hope she wins.
post-USADA Reem isnt the monster who walked down everyone anymore, and Werdum improved his striking a shit ton and is quite reckless now, I think this is going to be an entertaining fight with a KO finish

It was against Valentina, she pushed her with his fist on her face.

Oh that is it... well even worse, Valentina is probably the only girl nicer than Holly, pathetic move and I'll root against her for a long time

- Overeem (I think Overeems chin is not going to be a problem here, since werdum has no kO power. Maybe a flying knee or a front kick but I think it is going to be like their second fight with Werdum trying to take the fight to the ground and Overeem dominating in the stand up even with the improved Werdum)
- Yoel Romero (+110, Whittaker has been pretty impresive but Yoel is a complete monster, I am pretty sure he is going to be the champion and maybe a dominant one)
- Andrade (he is +250 wich is crazy imo, I thought Font would be the underdog here)

Romero vs. Whittaker = 5 round fight
Romero is a low volume striker, and if he wins, it will be by KO/TKO.
lots of value on Overeem I dont get why ppl think this is an even fight... Its a nightmare matchup for Werdum simply because Overeem has the strongest clinch game in the division and Werdum new aggro sloppy stand up relies heavily in brief moments of clinches, holding head with 1 hand etc and he is not going to outstrike overeem from the outside either.
Agree that Reem should be bigger favorite over Werdum. Sure you never know with him as he is always prone to e fluke defeat, but I think he is going to dominate Werdum here.
Also Sheva probably wil take over the fight vs Nunes in the later rounds, but that is if she survives the early onslaught. Probably will be having some juicy lines for live betting, as I think Nunes is going to melt her early on.
Romero is underdog again and there is a great bet, imo as well . He should be able to put Whittaker on his back and hurt him bad there. Really great fight.

theres value on werdum then?
No, theres value in Overeem, the reason he loses fights he should win is the only reason he isnt like -400 here
The last dude that beat werdum in a clumsy awkward fight was Ubereem. Werdum was half the fighter he is now, sans goofy face werdum shows up he'll destroy Discount Reem ez. This new Reem trying to be like Mayweather dancin around just waiting to get hit by the slightest touch of the gloves to any part of his head goes down asap vs almost every dude in HW. I bet the house and my mother on Werdum
Psychologically Reem is no way chasing a belt in the UFC and is finishing his fat contract which im sure this guy will go move to bellatard, the biggest mistake Dana made taking in this horsemeat lover. Im sure he'll enjoy fighting Francis Nganou

Reem will be cashing checks as long as he got fans left, I just think Dana is overpaying him because of it. His only real claim to fame is beating brock pre usada who turned out to be a roided wwe guy who cant stand getting hit. HW without Sea Level Cain and Prime JDS is dead

The "discount Reem" you mention beat Mir, Struve, Nelson, JDS, Arlovski and Hunt and also nearly KO's the champ
Baal I'm sure you've known by now that in MMA a fighter is judged by his last 3 or less fights. MMA's margin of error and wear on it's fighters is so demanding that you can't judge a fighter's chances by his whole body of work. It's a momentum driven sport if anything, and whatever the fighter has on his plate at any given time is the best indicator how he performs or what version of himself shows up. Reem post USADA is even a mere shell of Pride Reem, his younger self, and that's not saying much either.
Werdum's only mistake is relying too much on his striking and trying too many new shit e.g. flying kick , he should not abandon his elite BJJ skills and learn to put it all together with his newfound striking ability. Ubereem had a tough time in their striking match in the first fight and he had only started striking more in his fights with his striking coach, what more now with post USADA reem and werdum with longer time doing striking training

I dont like Nunes either. She isnt humble in victory and her behavior after fights annoy me tbh. Dont really care if she wins/loses. Im way more interested in the werdum overeem fight and romero whittaker, those are the mian events for me.
its surprising for me tho how hasnt romero been caught by usada yet. he's a clear case of peds for me. you arent supposed to be a fucking terminator when you are 40yo.

I dont like Nunez but I was looking to watch this fight and im not that much into women's MMA but it was going to be a nice aggro match between two women who can actually strike

Agreed that cant judge past many fights but you said specifically "post USADA" overeem sucks and his post USADA record is amazing, in fact his last 2 fights as Ubereem he lost to Silva and then to Travis Browne.
The thing is that Ubereem had probably the most potential in any HW in history, as if he didnt fuck up nobody would have a chance not even Cain but this potential never turned into results and every time he fucked up and his glass chin held him back, so ultimately I disagree with this Ubereem/Undereem narrative, he is effectively more succesful than before, sadly it isnt as entertaining as seeing him walk down a huge Lesnar and knee him in the liver with his hands down

There is a ton of value in the 9 televised fights' contests, so I added 5 teams into the $4 event.
It will only be half full by the time it locks.

Struve would probably win. He has the better cardio and uses his length now.
Struve is too soft with zero defense in strikes and has a champagne glass for a chin, a tuck from Browne with Knock him out even on his worst day lol
For me if a solid werdum comes out to fight today and not his occassional weirdo self, it doesn't matter what discount Reem does, he's gonna get rocked and subbed or TKOd with a strike and its only a matter of when. This mayweather version of reem is the worst

I'd like to watch the 1st round again because I'm not sure if that was a clean knock down or werdum losing balance. He wasnt fazed at all. Anyway it was a close fight and the way the fight played out i'm not surprised with the decision.

I thought Werdum won 2-1, but R1 was so bad that I expected it to go either way.

I dont think Whittaker is in any way an easier fight, Bisping is durable and a cardio monster, it was likely he would do to Romero what Whittaker did.
Weidman, Jacare and Rockhold are way worse matchups for Bisping than Romero
Maybe but he didnt want that fight and he was rooting for Whittaker

Won $92 on DK, but small loss on the night. I'm not even mad about it though, as I did well yesterday on the Johnson/Gaethje card.
Overall, we saw like 6 good performances and 2 decent fights on UFC 213, but nothing great. TUF 25 Finale was a better card overall in terms of entertainment.

Idk about weidman being a worse fight than romero, but i think Whittaker is clearly a much worse fight than Romero for Bisping.
Against Romero, i could at least see a way for Bisping to win. I sure as hell favored Romero, but Bisping had a shot if he used a game plan similar to the plan Whittaker used.
Against Whittaker, i don't really see any ways for Bisping to win. I guess his best shot is getting a lucky KO like he got against Rockhold, but Whittaker seems much harder to clean hit, and seems to have a great chin, so GL with that.
