If lostaccount comes back and wants to pay Loco I will accept the $11 USD in BTC and send $10 to Loco on PayPal. But, I'd rather not considering lostaccount has PayPal and uses it. Still, I will offer to do it in the case of manic delusions and/or not being liquid in USD.

Also for the record, I preemptively told him it was ok if he changed his mind before any games were played. I made it easy for him to opt out of the whole thing or game after game if he thought he was too outmatched or whatever. If I know this story correctly it was HovZ and someone else I don't know who went to whose house and who the other guy was but I think it was two USA national players and I don't know who won.. but it wasn't stabbing or anything I think it was a somewhat consensual fight and pretty sure whoever travelled went a long way to get there. almost all the people who post alot on liquid poker make me feel so sad for them and liquidpoker...

from how I remember it, hovz travelled to some Nextel guy's house, rang his doorbell, asked the friendly mom figure who opened the door if nextel was home, nextel came, and hovz beat him up. I do believe Nextel liberally using 'nigger' to describe hovz (a black man) was the trigger. Honestly think this was a somewhat funny case of 'idiot thinks he can say whatever he wants on the internet without repercussions' and finding out that it's not necessarily true. No stabbing and I don't think the beating up was particularly brutal, more like hovz punching him in the face and nextel being knocked down and that being it, although these details are a bit hazy.

I'd like to chime in with a short story about Hovz that i think yall might find funny. Back in 2002? I put together a LAN in California. It ended up being a success with some big names (Froz, Evade, Cypressman, Machine) showing up as well as WGT, PGT and Blizzard admins and employees. Was alot of fun.

Hovz showed up but didn't play. He ended up sweating Froz the entire time and pretty much just hung out. After Froz and eVade played their final bo5 match (of which Froz won) Hovz lingered around and seemed to be waiting for something. After almost everyone left, including Froz, eVade started packing up his computer and it then became clear what Hovz was waiting for.

Background:

A few months prior, eVade and Hovz took part in some Blizzard sponsored event of which they played against each other in. Evidently, Hovz disconnected early on in their final match but instead of evade waiting or offering to restart, evade just continued the match, ghosted Hovz' request to rm and uploaded the replay to Blizzard whom declared him the winner. Hovz tried to appeal but was denied. Evade went on to win the event and the Samsung 21" CRT Flat screen monitor prize lol

Back to the story: So Evade started packing up his stuff and Hovz comes over and just shoves Evade away. Hovz begins disconnecting the cables from the back of Evade's computer. Evade is pretty shy and sort of half-heartedly tried to stop him but Hovz was a big dude and there was no chance. Hovz then says something to the effect of "this is mine", picks up the monitor and starts to make way toward the door. Everyone at this point is just watching in shock as they witness a robbery. Long story short I manage to talk sense into Hovz and he "compromises" and says, "okay fine but since you cheated me, i'm going to break it so we both can't have it" and motions like he's about to drop it. Again, I manage to talk him out of it and he eventually sets it down and warns Evade that if he ever does that again he's going to find out where he lives lol

Anyway, reading the Hovz story reminded me of this and thought it would be a fun little sc tidbit to share. To be fair, Evade and I became great friends afterwards and even roommates for several years so hopefully he doesn't get upset that I've finally told this story after 2 decades, haha.

See, that's where you went wrong. Did we bet on me being a nice guy? No. The bet was about a StarCraft bo5, which you failed to finish. I was nice enough to let you get away with a $10 loss, and your behavior following this was disgusting. You were supposed to pay, period. No arguments. No ifs or buts. It was your responsibility to make it easy to settle your debt. It wasn't my responsibility to run around and find a solution to get paid. And to claim that I would ever do anything to your email after I sent you mine is insane. Anything I would do to you you could do to me right back. I've also debunked this idea of yours that PayPal shows your email when you transfer -- it doesn't actually force you to do that.

When you make bets you don't suddenly decide not to pay because you don't like the guy; the bet is independent of what you think or what the other person says about you after the bet. You also don't start bets for money when you intend to pay with crypto, because crypto is not money.

While we are famously known for being harsh at LP especially with poker advice as a kind of tough love (it's your fuckin' money) and forums are generally a place people talk shit for fun, there's definitely been a massive increase in average age and change in life/responsibilities since the site opened. Many people have kids, wives or joined the real world... but we all know for a period we were on a kind of nerd gold rush from a brother named MONEYMAKER. What a ride. SO much has happened to LPers over the years and we are all fucking cool for being on that journey together despite massive differences. Naturally this maturity also makes us engage in discussions differently though and with hopefully more value to offer too. I think one thing that's clear from this situation is some people view LP as lower traffic (dead) and that's a reason to spam, troll and take shit posting to another level for them but there are probably also people who feel similar to myself whereby you won't even engage idiots like that lightly and if that's the only posting going on it's unlikely you would post yourself. I view my LP brothers as some of the coolest and most intelligent people I've ever connected with and we all gave/received our fair share of tough love at times as a community, but let's also try to add value by talking about cool stuff.
