To be honest, I think it's perfectly possible to miss that on the minimap... it's just problematic when you combine it with:
- Him having scouted everywhere else and seen nothing, so had to know something was up.
- Worlds latest reaction to creep practically humping his buildings.
- Above all, the absurd betting patterns.

MarineKing has been playing like garbage ever since he came back from LoL. Every single game I've seen of him has been utterly awful. I remember one game (not a TV broadcast, just online) the commentators actually thought someone was impersonating MKP because he was just playing so sloppy, but it ended up being the real MKP. They were actually making fun of what seemed to be a MKP fan with average skills. That's pretty telling.

The last game I saw of him before this he had all his units in one control group I believe and sent them to his third which resulted in hellions/marauders getting there first without marine support and all getting destroyed by mutalisks. He then put all his remaining army in his mineral line at his third and got completely crushed by the next attack of ling/banes/mutas. He had no space to micro and just lost every SCVs there as well. Seriously, in all the games I've seen of him he's been consistently distracted and sloppy, so in my mind this is 100% normal and expected outcome of Byul's strategy here. For this reason, looking purely at the game in isolation I wouldn't think it was fixed, but what with all the betting stuff I can't know for sure.

ya cant really comment on whether or not it was fixed but this is definitely in mkps wheelhouse of being terrible

my problem is as obvious as it looks, as clear as the evidence seems or whatever, it takes no risk for some guy on the internet to point at kespa and go "durr kespa evil matchfixing" without knowing the effect of this kind of allegation, true or false, on someone's reputation

i'm wondering when betting closed? because it seems to me if i were in the studio watching mkp fail like this would it be that hard to bet my life savings on the game? or the betting could also be from an information leak and not some kind of collusion involving the actual players. i mean you would have to be a real nincompoop to fix a game in this way, it would be like barry bonds dropping his bat going to try and pick it up and slipping on a banana peel so he cracks his skull on home plate after the pitch knocks his helmet off

The only reason why I can't outright agree with everyone is because this is MKP. If anyone (Loco included) has watched MKP in the past two years then you know that if there is any Korean pro capable of looking this retarded then it is him. He has lost games of SC2 in just about every possible embarrassing way that you can whether from way ahead or behind.

If I were to play devil's advocate here, then he either did not notice the yellow dot on the mini map, or he was simply that tilted for whatever reason that* he auto deemed the yellow dot as an overlord and paid no more attention to it.

When you go to 5:40 in the video in question, you see that MKP has 120 minerals banked and then spends 50 for an SCV. Roughly 1 second later you see his facial expression change (whether it was bad acting and a clear fix, or simply when his attention was off of his command center and he then had time to view the rest of his base/map).

I am serious in that if this was anyone else in the Korean pro scene that* I would hands down agree it's a fix. However, because it's MKP and since he issued a statement immediately through Waxangel about being outraged on the accusations then I am siding with him being innocent here.

In regards to the betting lines, the lines have been all over the place for tons of games since the San/Dark incident and even sometimes the side which gets heavily pounded ends up losing horribly, so I really think it's hard to correlate that with this situation. Also, the current trend on TL.net for SC2 is that its a dead game and everyone is either hacking or throwing games for money. Some of these incidents include the past basis of the Savior match fixing scandal, San/Dark cancelled wagers by pinnacle incident, The Olimo league betting scandal and now this one. So you have to keep that all in mind and be more objective instead of going into it thinking that this is a clear fix

Rainkhan, even though the dot is a pretty big thing, considering how pro gamers always keep checking the minimap, and use it nonstop. That's not the biggest thing, not even close.

He scouts, there's nothing, he look for bases, nothing. Doesn't matter if it's a pro gamer, I think anyone diamond and above would have alarm bells going by now.

He goes home, does nothing, then adds not one, but two command centers, that's 800 minerals (No safety vs a cheese or all in). Just really, really strange.

Looks to me like he froze up and didnt quite know what to do when he realized the cheese is revealed on the minimap. By doing nothing he did everything as agreed, but he didnt make it look smooth. His aggressive scouting intending to find a build order he know will lose..

like its not even just the fact that he didnt notice the spine which is ridiculous, he left his reaper afk, even if he does that to protect base he should instantly push one when the 2nd one pops up especially when he noticed that the zerg definitely has an early hatch, and he wouldnt even bother scouting it really?

i mean i've seem some pretty terrible mistakes in RTS's done by progamers, but this is not a terrible mistake this is a complete train wreck

with the fpv on the replay you could probably find some definitive proof (mvp said they are going to issue a statement so i assume this is one of the things they did)

also, just as an aside, flash lost to this same build in the nssl qualifiers yesterday. if he didnt go cc first and managed to lose itd be interesting to see how.

He didnt use his reapers. He did nothing with his reapers.

A pro made reapers and then did literally nothing with them.

Fuck the spine that was within vision, a pro made 2 reapers and didn't even send them out of his base, LOL. You can make an excuse that you didn't see the spine. Far fetched, but possible.

There is zero explanation for why he didn't use his reapers. No pro would ever do that, it has to be intentional.

The more I look at this the more I feel like there's no way it wasn't fixed.. I havn't really followed the sc2 scene in 3 years, but wasn't mkp really good in like 2011? What happened?

I think this is exactly what happened. he was gonna throw the match at some point, then his opponent tried to hand him the win by cheesing and being scouted, and then being a retard was the only way he could lose, so he went for it.

Thats what I mean, you should train in throwing a little bit, getting used to delaying things just a bit so you loose, not micromanaging properly reacting slow, making mistakes but not being this silly

I mean sc2 is such a volatile game that it's always plausible that you "just fucked up" during one engagement, and losing an engagement loses you the game..

ya. if this is a fix, it seems likely that this probably wasnt the first time. mkp was 3-8 in spl and probably botched games more in this way
