anyone finds it strange that jones gets into a "fight" with cormier and loses nike deal and soon after ufc announces reebok deal?

Wouldn't be surprised if all that stuff is related. It seems industry insiders knew something was up because the UFC started to allow fighter sponsors only to sign on for shorter periods lately. If Nike saw it coming they easily could have figured the fight was a good time to show their stance, since they wouldn't be allowed to sponsor him in the Octagon half a year later anyway.

The favorites on DK are more expensive than on KM, and you don't get left with a lot of points after picking two favorites. If all of the favorites are gonna be expensive on DK, there will be more people with the same picks on DK. KM's different prices allow there to be less ties. Also, the amount of users allowed to join an MMA game on DK is wayyyyyyyyy to high. KM sets their registration number much lower because the more people who join the game, the higher the chance of a tie happening.
I really think its the opposite.
I think on DK, any picks makes sense, because the prices are based on real actual odds. I think almost any combination is possible and makes sense.
But on KM, there are often fighters who are almost MUST PICK, such as dany Castillo, and fighters who really makes no sense picking, such as Josh Burkman.
Result is, on KM, you see a lot of similarity between the decks (no big under dogs, a lot of obvious picks)
But on DK, i think anything can happen.
THis is especially true in smaller tournaments, or even in a duel. On KM, it would be really stupid not to take Dany Castillo, and it would be really stupid to pick any big underdogs. On the other hand, i think you could justify taking big underdogs on DK.
This analysis is spot on.

As for the Nike stuff, Nike wanted to dump JBJ and used this as an excuse. JBJ publically stated that he lost the Nike deal BECAUSE of the DC incident, so your theory is based in fact if you believe JBJ. However, I don't buy it at all. If they were happy with JBJ, they would have kept him for sure, this afterall makes him more famous in the interim and is not that big of a deal. Bottom line is Nike wasn't getting a return on investment.
Do you remember how big of a star we thought Jones was going to be when you destroyed Shogun? My perception of him personally and as a star-personality has changed vastly, and I think everyone elses has as well.
Edit: All this happened before the Reebok deal, so that was all irrelevant at the time.

Aside from my KM and DK teams, I've made two bets thus far: Cody Garbrandt +183 (1.5u), and Cerrone/Jury u2.5 +161 (.5u).
Waiting until after New Years Eve to place anymore bets, which is when the lines will adjust.

As it has been said, the most likely scenario is that they heard about Reebok going to ink a deal with the entire UFC organization so they dropped their individual sponsorships because of obvious conflict of interests the fighters are already talking against this, Silva specifically said that he expect to be compensanted by Reebok to get what Nike was giving and he probalby wont and many fighters are in an alike situation with other brands, this UFC move is shafting the fighters hard.
Since reebok pays based on rankings it might benefit highly ranked yet unpopular fighters like Jose Aldo

I like Jones because I have a close friend in high school who's eerily similar - really good standup (4 victories, never damaged in any), Long rangey guy who uses it effectively and very misunderstood yet chill dude. I'll try to put a decent sized bet somewhere somehow on Jones, Philippines has been removed from most sportsbet sites. I used to hate on Jones so I might just be a contrarian by nature

Well we don't know him personally. If the guy had zero friends which is impossible, its really hard to believe he's this evil psychopath basing on what the internet shows us, i mean come on. Anderson Silva was this kind of a weird jerk before people embraced him and then he became super popular.

I think if this is a grappling war and ground game fight, Cormier will have an edge. If it's a boxing fiesta, JJ will because of his crazy range and creativity. Also, the further the fight will go into championship rounds, JJ will also have the upper hand IMO.

really excellent article on jones. best fighter of all time and a true psychopath. i still think DC has a decent shot to win....but it would be terrifying to fight jones.
