DC didn't look 'scared' to me. He's anxious and hates Jones. Scared of Jones himself is a serious stretch, give me a break. I'm sure he'll be nervous as shit after all the shit talking and just the magnitude of the moment, and Jones is just a killer with a serious mental advantage.
Anyway, as I've said and not to beat a dead horse, but Jones is going to win this fight, I'm pretty damn confident and very happy with the odds. It's just not a good match-up for Cormier. I laid out way earlier in this thread how I think the only way Cormier wins (the simplistic "his wrestling is so good he's going to ragdoll Jones" is absurd), and he will have to fight the absolutely perfect fight with the perfect blend of aggression, wrestling, and well-timed heavy hands in and out of the clinch, which is very hard to do when your so pumped full of emotion.
Above all else, this is a huge fight for the UFC and MMA in general and I really hope its exciting. That doesn't mean we need hay makers and Hendricks/Lawler style punching exchanges. That's not gonna happen. But if this fight just has a good blend of parody and back and forth, it will be exciting just due to the sheer magnitude. I really do hope for that. |

DC is scared not from getting his ass whooped, but from the questions and coments after the fight is over and everybody sees the difference in the level of the two fighters.
Seriously what do you say after all the shits you said, then you go to the octagon and get manhandled? I was just selling the fight?!I have always respected JJ?! OMG please no.
If they offer him now a loss with dignity he snap calls it!

I want Jones winning this one and moving to HW to face Cain so the UFC will make it's first 100million purse fight |

I would hate if DC loses and they instantly give him the rematch instead of Gustafson, would be really frustrating |

Cormier looked anxious and scared as fuck tbh. No idea if he usually looks the same way before a fight though, first weigh in of his I've ever seen might be standard for him |
Its obvious that hes at least anxious. Even if this was a little harmless chess game, he has to be anxious because obviously it will make a massive money/fame difference if he wins this. But in addition to this, Dan isn't an idiot and he realize there is a good chance he gets his first loss and gets a severe beating... |

What do you guys think of 1.87 odds that jones lands a takedown? |

Who has Jones taken down previously?
Seems foolish to put his long limbs at risk, despite his being a great wrestler, if you know what I mean? What would Greg Jackson advise?
I'm sure he'll focus on kicking ass standing up.
Cormier will seek a takedown. |

I doubt Jones gets a takedown, wouldn't bet on it unless the odds were 3:1 + |

Would be interesting to read "killing the king" or whatever title it was about DC. Like break down his flaws and how to exploit them. I've refreshed this page so much that i need to replace F5. Anticipation is high. If it goes to round two i'll be happy. |

Final picks (I'll post my bets later):
• Jones > Cormier (Jones was at -151 the other day, but I didn't bet him. He's now at -200. Cormier will be at his strongest in round 1, and will probably get a take down and possibly win the round; if not, the fight is already lost. I'll live bet Jones after he gets taken down, but if he stops the take downs, I'll try to bet the fight to end ITD or u4.5 rounds.)
• Cerrone > Jury (Cerrone -150 or better.)
• Marquardt > Tavares (Marquardt -117 or better.)
• Horiguchi > Gaudinot (Guchi should win easily, but I have a bet on Gaudinot by submission at +1250, since a guillotine is the only way he'd win, and Guchi is in most of my KM/DK fantasy plays.)
• Lombard > Burkman (There's no props that interest me in this fight.)
• Castillo > Felder (Felder's ML +190 or better.)
• Garbrandt > Brimage (Garbrandt at +180 or better. I think he'll win the fight anyway, but he's currently at +130.)
• Jordan > Cannonier (u1.5 rounds.)
• Dunham > Damm (Goes to decision/o2.5 rounds.)
• Akhmedov vs. Nilsson (Ends ITD/no bet yet.)
• Dufresne vs. Reneau (Ends ITD/u2.5 rounds.) |
