i think you answered your own question. another hint would be the price on your bet. if you assumed that the wording meant will croatia be winning by the end of the half then the juice would have probably been something like -500. im guessing this wasnt the case and you were offered something like +400 which meant croatia had to score more and be up by at least 2 goals by the end of the half

Great game by Chile and 100% deserve to go through. Guys show so much heart and team work for 90 minutes - things that most teams are lacking. Defensive line and positioning is solid and they way they pressured Spain was a joy to watch.

Calling Belgium team "water carriers" and "overrated" is pretty retarded. Their main issue coming into the WC was their young squad who are fairly inexperienced but capable (Only Van Buyten has played a final tournament before). Vertonghen got caught out in a stupid situation - happens to everybody. Lukaku looked damn near useless for the whole hour he was on the pitch. The first 35 minutes of Belgium was a shadow of their actually ability, the tactic was far too conservative and didn't fit the team at all (bad call by the manager imo). Second half with Mertens started sharper, Origi looked better than Lukaku and Fellaini was more offensive minded - they should have put Algeria on their back foot from minute 1 but they didn't.. I only see Belgium improving over the next couple of games, they will hopefully become more comfortable, get into their swing of things and prove that they are genuinely a good team.

Brazil are yet to make a good impression on me, I just don't see how they can be called favourites at this point in time. They haven't been convincing at all, maybe that can change with the Cameroon game? In the last game Fred looked like he rather be at home. Marcelo should have been booked for that blatant dive as to discourage others to try and get away with horse shit like that.

Uruguay vs England will be interesting. I don't see Suarez being 100% fit as some are claiming, if he was in a decent in enough shape they would have played him vs Costa Rica. However, Suarez has been running teams ragged all season and he has experience against all of the english back four. With 31 goals last season, they should be fucking scared of him.

Agreed. The Belgium team isn't overrated. They just seem to have problems with nerves/lack of experience. It is indeed a very young squad. We should expect big things from them in the future...they def have the quality to be a real contender for any major tournament.

Also agreed on Brazil being very flat and unimpressive...but if you remember from the last few world cups. Brazil has always been looking "mediocre" and "not great" all throughout qualification and even through most of the group stages...then the elimination stages fire up..and they fire up their extra 5 gears they've been not using and start looking like themselves...called it now.

if we see Suarez at even 80%...we'll see some amazing and great things happen this game vs england. I REALLY like Uruguay at +175 if Suarez does play this game. Suarez is by far the best single player to make an impact on the game. He might not be the best but his tenacity and killer instinct is top notch no doubt. His ability to create plays and make others around him much better is what makes him the monster that he is. I'm going to be closely watching Suarez's involvement in the next game. If he's in I'm going to be shoveling in the monies.

Thanks for the response.

There's too many live bet options for the WC, so I was trying to rush and skim through them all and make a bet bet it locked up or changed. Didn't really think the Croatia bet through. It was +500.

Lol got easy paid on my bet on Chile...That Spanish side has yet to really change the past 6+ years and they have been on steady decline. Sure they should still be very highly rated as they have championship quality...but I feel other teams get vastly underrated esp when playing vs Spain...yet again in this case Chile's chances were vastly underestimated and the betting lines reflected that.

The Chilean workrate this match was absolutely amazing to watch...they were just going bananas from the first whistle of the game to try and compete with the elite spainish midfield. And their discipline was amazing to watch as well.

The most entertaining side vs the most boring side...glad the boring possession game of the Spaniards will be out of the tournament. Fuck them hope they go to the drawing board and change to a more attacking oriented game with all the talent they have it should be too tough. I don't want to see them rotating the ball from their stacked midfield to back line for 60 min of a game every game they play O_o

I'm getting 3.25-1 Uruguay to win.
Another good bet would be 2-1 on Belgium to win. Russia looked awful.

5.4-1 USA to win I think is a fantastic bet. No way are they such dogs against this Portugal team.

I'm just going to bet 20-30 euros. I think some of the lines are WAY off.

EDIT : If Spain want to achieve anything, they need to get rid of Del Bosque ASAP. The guy proved today that he just isn't adaptable. Not to mention a few questionable calls he made. Pique and Xavi on the bench, Costa playing (this game and last tbh), Casillas (Pepe Reina?) and Alonso/Busquets when they NEED a win (Fabregas, Xavi, Koke - anyone?)
Costa should not have played this game or the first. I'll go as far as to say Costa should not have been selected for the team if Del Bosque was going to use his old game plan. Costa just doesn't have the skill needed for that style, I feel slightly sorry for him. He has come from being injured to being jammed into a slot he simply doesn't fit. He needs the space created by a second striker, not a tight clusterfuck Spain create. Seems like Del Bosque picked Costa because he had a great season without actually looking at HOW he had a great season, how does a manager of that calibre even do that?

I like your analysis of the Spainish side. Xavi being benched def needs a closer look no doubt LOL..

I really like the US at +1 point spread vs portugal. Currrently the bovada line is +1 us -110.. I suspect that people are going to be loading up on Portugal so I'll wait till the lines improve before taking that line....lol team ronaldo. Their attack is so flat. No team work/spirit. They are constantly getting in each other ways. Just trying to appease ronaldo all game long...the team is absolute trash. The players on the actual roster are all top notch quality...but they don't gel together whatsoever. I'd give US a very good chance to win here. Hopefully Altidore comes back and the US doesn't get plagued by injuries.

I've made quite a few bets.

Belgium to win @ 2:1 - 10eur
Bosnia to win @ 1.8 - 3eur
ARG/GER to win @ 1.456 - 5eur
Switzerland to win @ 4.1 - 1eur
France to win @ 1.9 - 3eur
Uruguay to win @ 3.25 - 2eur - WIN
England to win @ 2.25 - 1eur - LOSE
Ivory Coast and Colombia BOTH to score @ 1.75 - 2eur - WIN
Uruguay and England BOTH to score 1st HALF @ 3.60 - 3eur - I actually misread the bet. Only bet I'm not too happy with. (Should have bet this smaller) - LOSE (This should have been the same bet as IC/COL one but that's what you get for rushing things)
ITALY/BOSNIA/BELGIUM to win @ 5.4-1 - 4eur - Very happy at the odds I got for this.
ITALY/BOSNIA/BELGIUM system bet 2/3 @ 3.1-1 - 6 eur

40 euros total bet.

EDIT -
Uruguay/England - I don't see ending in a draw. Both teams NEED a win if they have any hope in qualifying. Neither team will be happy with a draw, England do not want to leave it to chance vs Costa Rica as Uruguay can beat Italy. I only see Suarez being fit for around 70 minutes, so a first half BOTH to score seems OK given the line.
BEL/RUS - I have a lot of faith in Belgium. Very little faith in Russia atm. They looked down right miserable and out of their damn element.
BIH/NIG - Bosnia is a great team, ARG was nervous against them the first game for a reason. BIH front line is a big threat. Nigeria looked awful.
Ivory Coast vs Colombia - I don't see a 0-0 draw here, both teams want to finish first in the group.
FRA/SUI - Switzerland aren't a bad team at all, mostly underrated and the bashing FRA gave to Honduras first game raised their stakes a little TOO high imo. 4-1 on Switzerland is too good of a bet. Neither team want to drop points and it's so important to go through this group as first as to not run into ARG right away. I think FRA will probably end up winning the game but 4-1 on SUI is too good to miss out. SUI would probably be happy with a draw as they have the easier last game vs Honduras.
ITALY/BOSNIA/BELGIUM - Italy have shown time and time again that they are excellent at playing big tournaments. Costa Rica shocked a lot of people by beating Uruguay but Italy won't have a similar meltdown. Bosnia is the weakest link imo, but I still think they will beat Nigeria.

Betting USA to win seems OK if the line is right. However, before doing that, I want to see the line-up for USA. I think they will be going in more defensively, a draw here is enough to send Portugal packing. Losing here and trying to salvage some points from Germany seems super difficult. Say what you will about Portugal but they the man-power to go through. Betting on a draw seems a little better to me atm.

4-5-1 to would seem best vs Portugal. Beckerman/Jones/Bradley in central role which would give Bradley the ability to help Dempsey with the breaks. It would also help the defenders and if US plays a 4-5-1 role, I want to see Johannsson at around 60 minutes. He will be faster, sharper and will make quick breaks behind the Portugese defensive lines. Playing 4-5-1 SHOULD stop Ronaldo from running at the US defence by giving him less room to roam around in and hopefully smother the supply to ball supply to Ronaldo. Dempsey will have to put pressure on the Portugal defence as to stop them from taking their time and looking for Ronaldo/Nani
If they opt for a 4-4-2 I want to see Dempsey dropping lower to give Johannsson the space he needs to make those quick runs. 4-4-2 gives them the best chance of scoring but leaves them very vulnerable vs Portugal. The extra space in the middle of the pitch will be used by both Nani and Ronaldo to make quick breaks. Putting pressure on Portugal will be the responsibility of both Johannsson and Dempsey in this set-up.

The key for USA is how are they going to deal with Ronaldo/Nani threat.Pressing high and a 4-5-1 line-up seem to be the only logical option here.

i thought uruguay looked bad vs a weakish team on their first game while england looked refreshingly good maybe even unlucky to lose to italy imo but if suarez plays might be enough to even the odds - wayne rooney should participate more than in 1st game

So England needs Italy to win twice and they need to beat Costa Rica. Which is hard but not otherwordly unrealistic considering they're down 0-2.

waga   United Kingdom. Jun 19 2014 17:06. Posts 2375

to be honest I think between the three (Costa Rica , Uruguay , England) England is still the favorite.
Costa Rica will lose its next 2 games and a win for Italy is more likely than a loss or a draw between Italy and Uruguay.

Wtf.NotMe   Spain. Jun 19 2014 17:43. Posts 49

Italy have only WON 1 out of their last 8 games. That's including teams like Luxembourg, Ireland, Spain, Nigeria and Armenia. 4 games this year, 1 win, 1 loss and 2 draws, only win coming vs England. They will more than likely beat Costa Rica but against Uruguay it's different.
I do have plenty of faith in Italy vs Costa Rica but not against Uruguay. Uruguay showed that they will make any and all defensive errors count. Italy have managed only ONE clean sheet (vs ROI) in those 8 games and I'd be surprised if they keep a clean sheet vs Costa Rica.

Calling England a favourite at this point is really optimistic. Not saying they don't have a chance, they have the easier final game but Uruguay are still a force to be reckoned with. Who says Costa Rica can't pull off an upset vs a team who cant seem to be able to keep a clean sheet?

If Italy wins tomorrow, they will classify for sure as first, so they won't care about third match against Uruguay. A draw will be perfect to both.

sorry for shitty english.

Called it. Even Suarez at 80% would be enough to give Uruguay the win...he's the best player in terms of a single player to make big impacts on the game. Ez took Uruguay pickem spread at +170.

Unfortunately I lost my first WC bet this tourny on ivory coast...the weather was optimal for the bigger Ivorians. But yaya toure was not 100% fit...he was constantly limping and seemed to be in a lot of pain. Too bad he didn't play to his potential.

I'm up quite a bit on WC bets so far tho can't complain...I'm watching USA Portugal line very closely...
