I think people vastly underestimated Croatia here...Luka Modric is a unreal fucking beast. He just regularly dominates the midfield like a boss.

Brazil had to depend on the added width of Luis and Alves to move the ball up the flanks. The option to attack the midfield and center was vastly hindered by Modric's unreal skillz O_o.

That said Croatia got fucked. FIFA is corrupt and I wouldn't be surprised if there's rigging involved...But then again I wouldn't be surprised if there's rigging in any professional sports.

One thing to note tho is Brazil seems to never really hit their extra "gear" until the later stages of the world cup tournament...They always look kinda sloppy and then all of a sudden then look godly in the later stages...happens pretty much every world cup O_o

Neymar is looking really sharp too. Hopefully his fitness stays tip top so we can continue gawking at his abilities.

I really dont think that was just a mistake, I think it was an act of bribery, if FIFA is involved or not its hard to say, it could have been direct bribery for th ereferee.

As Ive said many times football has the most ridiculous refereeing in all sports, its cartoonish like pro-wrestling, a guy can single handedly decide the outcome of a match where hundreds of millions are involved and then people wonder why is there corruption... well because the whole fucking thing is set up to be corrupted

First off, I don't know much about soccer.

What do you guys think about the USA vs. Ghana match? The lines are currently: USA +195, Ghana +160, Draw +215.

The lines for these games seem weird to me, since I'm not used to seeing both teams as being plus-money. Since a match can end in a draw, does that make the soccer money-lines look weird like this?

Well since there 3 possible outcomes the odds in a game with no edge would be 1/3 so assume that +200 would equal (EV)

with those lines i'd go for a draw! usa and ghana should be pretty evenly matched.

and woww rvps first goal was absolutely incredible, probably the most beautiful header I've ever seen. a diving heading lob?? it's like so unreal difficult to pull off after you get a long ball from behind. and robben had two fantastic goals and just a great game as well. I thought netherlands looked weak based on their lineup but the combo robben+rvp and Blind's great crosses can handle any defense.

Yeah the game last night was absolutely unreal. I was completely knackered after the game from the excitement. People were shooting off fireworks outside haha. 4 great goals and some great play.

No group of death? This group has 4 teams who made knockout stage last world cup. Sure shit changes. But 2 of those teams could potentially win. Ghana is good and United States team is better overall than it was in 2010 when they made the knockout phase. Every one of the teams in the group could make top 8 and you wouldnt be at all surprised at all except for USA which is just because people assume they are worse than they actually are. Albeit as much as I do wanna see USA there getting it is going to be extremely difficult
