Poker takes a bit out of my life, but a 40hr job making the same pay would take more out of my life.

Yes it's worth it, not working under a boss, you decide how much you want to work.

Yes and no, the money won(I didn't win that much) sure helped a lot, and being a teenager at the time, $1000 can do ALOT.

I wish I could make all this money outside the pokerworld if I had a bit more job security. I can't say poker is secure at the moment, with a lot going on right now with the UIGEA, other countries getting their own sites, etc.

Depends on her motivation really. There are some very good reasons and some very bad reasons to ask such a thing. 90% of the people would come up with the bad ones.

Umm, she isn't the right girl for you if she can't accept you for what you are. You aren't doing anything illegal at all whatsoever and if you make a living off of it, then why can't she accept that?

If this comes down to 'moral' issues from the girl (she hates gamblers and believes poker is gambling) then you need to tell her that you understand that she doesn't like gambling and maybe educate her on the finer points of poker where skill is involved.

Na man. Poker is a negative thing to do. We gotta at least be able to admit this. Some women don't want to associate themselves with someone who does something negative for a living. It is not really a failing of her. She just demands more of her life.
