ARRRGH I can't seem to be winning this like everyone else here. It doesn't seem so easy for me. Whenever I get good cards, they fold, and I make like $0.50 then I don't get any other good cards for another 20-30 hands. WTF do I do?!

Anyone wanna mentor me? T_T

Play a bunch of tables so you always have "playable" cards. ^_^

What kind of hand sample are we talking about here? I know there have been bad stretches where I can't get paid off when I have hands, but NL2 is loose enough that over even any few thousand hands someone will call me with junk. Once in a while I find myself at a pretty tight table, but it's pretty easy to find looser ones and those have been more profitable for me. I join tables with high % players seeing flop as first priority and medium to large potsize.

It would also help to know about how many hands you play and how many you raise. I downloaded the beta of Holdem Manager to find out my own stats, I suggest you do the same. There is a thread in Main Poker with a link.

I play what I gather is standard TAG at 2NL and have done very well in the last two weeks, more than tripling my starting roll of $50 even though I can't play too much (I work full time).

I'd be happy to try to help you out a bit if I can, though I'm a beginner too.

That's unfortunate. Are you playing full-ring or 6-max? I was going to suggest from your OP that you might be playing a bit too tight, but I play 6-max so I don't quite follow GroT's guide on what hands I choose to participate in. I play a little more than a sixth of the hands I'm dealt, so it's pretty hard for people at my tables to assume I always have a monster hand preflop.

Is that VPIP or the number that stars gives you for how many hands you see the flop with? That stars stat I'm always around the high 20s due to how often the table lets me check my BB through to the flop. Anyway, you are raising the vast majority of that 15-18%, yes? I have about 16-17% VPIP and my preflop raise is around 14%.

Edit: agree with twotimesopt as well, use the Hands section more. I just ran a search and only found one hand you've posted.

hmm i beat NL2 full ring not that long ago, i like full ring cos u sit back, wait for a hand, then rake in $$ :D

at first its boring cos u can only afford to play a couple of tables but as my $ expanded i played up to 12, and once u hit 12 its alot more fun as ur seeing way more cards more often

full ring

I like 6-max because I get to pretend I'm loose and aggro even though I play TAG .

Your basic stats seem fine, so I left a detailed comment on the one hand you have posted and I'll keep an eye out for others. Good luck.

I made $0.40 cents, today, so I'm going to get some sleep. Thanks for all of the offerings to help. I just want to be able to move up, and get my money worth out of how much time i spend on stars...
