Alright, so I admit it, I am a complete noob at poker. I am probably worse than those who would do mass cannon on LT. I would end up not even knowing where the damn minerals are. (All a me<x>taphor to how bad I am)

So, I started out by having a friend transfer me $20 and after a few days, I have moved it up to about $20.50 Yeah, I'm that good! I'm a winning pla<x>yer at 1c/2c by $0.50 I can officially have a gum ball out of my first online poker making.

I'm 18, and I am really motivated to learn.

I think my biggest flaw in poker is that I am still give my opponent the benefit of the doubt on beating me. Even if I have a good hand, and I have position.

I one day want to be good, and have stories like everyone else here. 1c/2c is fun definitely. Yet I just sit with my jaw open when I see people with blinds bigger than my entire $20.50 bankroll.

I'm trying to put about 3 hours every day into my playing, and post hands here on Liquidpoker to see what I could have done better, and in return improve my game.

So hello everyone, and get ready to be owned in a year or two at 2c/5c

hi man, i can relate to you. a month ago i started out in the lonely world of pokerstars with $10.

i gambooled it up to $40, then lost most of it, to a low point of $6. Then i started posting hands here and people would comment them telling me useful stuff like never to slow play aces, and always bet when you have a strong hand, and don't play anything but good cards preflop :D

So i took this advice and worked my way up to $200, solely playing on NL2. And so i'm now starting out on NL5, pretty scary so far lol...

few basic tips that u need to understand:

1) Never ever slow play a strong hand. Always try to bet around 60% to 80% of pot.

2) Only play good cards. At NL2 i only played AQ, AK, and any pocket pairs. It might be boring but i played 12 tables at once so it wasnt so bad.

good luck at the tables, see u at nl5 shortly ;p

lol yeah i started playing around 25th of august i think.

i made a blog to keep a record, link = http://august.liquidpoker.net/ (didnt mean to make the link august -_-)

i played a fair bit cos i found it pretty fun and was suprised that i could make so much $ from just clicking lol. here's a graph of my NL2 playing on pokerstars:

so that shows 36 thousand hands which i think is a fair few, but thats playing 12 tables at the same time

If you want to get the prgram that lets you track your poker stats and so on, its called "Poker Tracker". It costs $50 to register but i cant afford to pay it yet so I just got a keygen by going to (go at ur own risk) www.astalavista.box.sk/ and im probably going to buy a legit version if/when my BR hits $1000

the graphing part is called pokergrapher and if u google it its just an add-on for poker tracker.

there's also this thing called "poker ace hud" which lets you display stats of your opponents over the poker table so you can see if they are really tight (only play good hands) or just donkeys. i also downloaded a keygen for it :S but i promise to register it if i make ~1000 off it.

As for general poker knowledge, i'd probably recommend just reading a bit on the internet somewhere about stuff like pot-odds, expected value / equity.

And also this is pretty noob but i didn't know this not all that long ago. When someone refers to a "set" it means when you h ave a pocket pair, + trips from one card on the board. Whereas trips is just when you have one card and two come out on the flop. And watch out for if the board pairs itself. This means if you have a straight or a flush, its no longer the 'nuts' cos someone could easily have a full house. This tripped me up more than once wen iwas beginning ^_^

/hijack lol
