ok, 4 days ago i decided to stop the shit masstable grind and concentrate at the fish instead. ive been running really bad (110BI under EV over 3 months if u go back to an earlier blogpost of mine http://www.liquidpoker.net/blog/viewblog.php?id=774508 , if now some1 cares)
but anyways, the last 4 days has felt good, less stress, softer sessions and overall a much higher bb/100 winrate.
Ive still ran crap in flips these days but w/e i will get there eventually i guess.. (really looking forward to the day where i can say that ive ran 110BI over expectation ^_^, ofc from playing good in standard spots not just spewing like a monkey winning everything)
Anyways ive tableselected really well these 4 days and only been playing 2 or 3 tables. Its the nuts really, im really raping the regs where i usually dosnt pay to much attention.
Its like i can see everything all of a sudden. playing alot looser to and my redline rules ATM after having it down in the negative usually when i masstable.
Anyways, gl hf! i hope my month will end in the good now after breaking even the first 20k hands before these 4 last days. And maybe get my fucking ass back to NL50 again and maybe start earning some fucking monies of this game..
I really recommend you guys who masstable to cut down some tables once and a while and think about stuff atleast 1 session/week or something.
I will stick to this to get a "real" sample of the 2-3 tabling. But so far so good
ps. sorry for all the EV talk from me all the time, something i need to work on is less whine and less crying over variance, even if its the doomswitch of a lifetime, maybe ive had / will have mine now at 25NL and will run goot at 25 50 next year instead

to laazy to edit the HH, (but i had JJ)
he was this superpassive fish that never woulda bluffed a missed draw / even bet trips by himself im almost convinced, he was just sick passive..
cut down tables to only 3 tables today. obv it went well, and felt well too
Played pretty loose this far aswell, around 26/21 with 3bet of 9%
alot more laggy than i use to play. 2-3 tables might be a great adjustment for me atm to make since ive lowered my goals on how much $$$ i make and more of how i play
Ye I keep making these half assed short updates and shit so I figured I would make a bigish one for once. Since I got home from vegas I was sort of motivated to grind a ton. I decided that since I am going back to school and wont have alot of time I was going to grind 2/4 6-max on ipoker for a stress free grind to throw in whenever I have some free time. I decided not to play anything higher even if my bankroll went huge because I just dont want my life to be affected by my poker results at all, especially when I am in school. The ipoker games where suprisingly good, I stick to the 50bb min tables and there still plenty of really bad players and bad regs. The problem is, I have some serious lagtarded issues. I think playing only heads up for so long ruined me completely, I just try to run people over a bit too much and just dont give anyone credit for anything. I am slowly adjusting but its really going slow and getting used to playing 6-max again has been kinda painful. I am still like 36/31/6 and Im still spewing in obvious spots.
I think the main problem is that I dont really enjoy playing 6-max that much. Its just a grind and it kinda bores me sometimes but whatever, its just a job and a job that pays pretty well if you know what you are doing. So this sunday I decided to play a couple of donkaments for kicks and among those where the ftops 500 hu. Emmidiately after starting my first match in that I realized how much more comfortable I am with playing heads up. I just enjoy it more and I feel superconfident in my own ability to crush my opponents. Heads up is just such a fast paced game where gameflow can change in an instant and making good reads and getting inside your opponents head pays off really fast. In 6-max its just way more of a grind, you pick up some tendecies that you might use to make a thin call down 1500 hands later or w/e but its so slow and grindy compared to hu. Its also way easier to actually see where your ev is coming from in HU which always is a comfort.
I went deep in the 500 HU and eventually busted 7th for 14,3k(as mentioned before). Kinda discuraged with losing the match against a fishy player that went on to win the whole thing but atleast I was really loving poker again. After this I havent played a single hand of 6-max, I also havent stuck to my rule of playing only 2/4. (w/e i felt really focused and played some 5/10 yesterday, sue me!)
Cashing in the HU donkament gave me a roll of ftp and the HU action there is really sick. Alot of bumhunters but the playerpool is so huge its not that hard to find someone to play you, especially since my tableratings shows me at like negative 9k or something after some random spews i made a couple of months back.
So now I am in a bit of a predicament because HU isnt all fine and dandy either. It is alot more stressful, you cant always get action and you have to deal with the constant fear of some opponent quiting you at any second. It can also be really swingy if you are into that kind of thing. 6-max on the other hand is very consistant, not terribly swingy and just all in all a comfortable grind. You can always sit down, decide to grind for two hours and that is that. Its just boring and I am not as good at it as I am in heads up. To actually show a good profit I need to man up and stop lagtarding whenever I get a chance.
Here are my 6-max results from ipoker so far:
Heres the HU from FTP:
And my shot at 5/10 on ipoker yesterday(lol rungoodaments):
Being results oriented aside, I think I am pretty good at hu and definitely alot better than I am at 6-max. It just suits me better. I still wanna polish my 6-max game so I can actually grind it profitably whenever I dont feel like playing HU or w/e.
As for not poker related stuff, I finally locked down an appartment and I am signing contracts and stuff this saturday. Took me a while but I finally found one that I really like and that didnt skyrocket completely in price. I will upload pictures when I have moved in and stuff but I am pretty stoked about it. Cost me 1,1 mil SEK(uhm I guess like $140k) for a small appartment in central uppsala. Living aint ez.
Im getting pumped for school, I know its going to be tough and disgusting but I welcome the challenge as I havent done much at all but playing some poker here and there for the last year. Gonna try and make the most of the last few weeks for freedom I have.
Ill end it at with a cool song with a very swedish summerish video.
Hello dear reader. My buddy d.Apollo left my place on the 6th August after a 2 month stay and since then I have to stop drinking alcohol. I've had gastroenteritis since leaving the Phillipines about 3 months ago, it's supposed to simply go away by itself, and although it's much better than it was I still get stomach pains now and then after drinking or eating particularly oily foods. I went to the doctors a few weeks ago and they told me that the problem left a scarring in my stomach which continues to get inflamed every time I drink alcohol or eat oily foods and that I have to stop for an entire month. Naturally this was not possible while d.Apollo was here as he is a king of birding and alcohol consumption and I followed him on many a night out. I find myself wanting a drink very often, it's frustrating but I know I have to do this because my birthday is the 8th of September and I want to be able to drink by then without problem, and especially since I have some guests coming around that time.
Poker this month has been pretty damn awesome, I've played a total of just over 1 hour of poker and have made enough money to satisfy myself for the month despite playing so little.
Obviously winning every flip, coolering people and getting called down by weak holdings when I have the goods.
It's nice that I 10k last month playing just a few thousand hands and being up 7k this month playing only 400 hands, because I really am not enjoying the game again. I think it's because of that long stint pissing around on 100nl, 200nl trying to make my stats pretty and being tilted a large majority of the time playing poker. It wasn't fun and I regret that I wasted so much time doing that, and I'm paying for it in more ways than one. Firstly I made 0 money playing 60k hands at those limits, when I should've been playing higher limits and most likely actually showing profit over 60k hands of 600nl, 1000nl so I missed out a lot in terms of $ made, and also the fact that I don't enjoy poker because of playing those limits means I play much less poker now also, again impacting on money made. So I'm really happy that I've been able to make 17k in the last month and a half because I really shouldn't be making much at all considering I've put in like 4-5k hands over that timespan.
Since I have so much free time due to not going out and the lack of interest in playing poker I've been playing a lot more StarCraft. I'm finally beginning to feel like I'm improving somewhat and I hit B+ on iCCup with a 68% winratio yesterday playing ONLY Korean players. I literally dodged non Koreans because it's tilting to play in a laggy game and they're also less good on average, and as I would like to improve I'd rather play the Korean players and have tougher wins and more losses in order to improve than try to get A- with a prettier winratio and not struggle that much. Too many people do that nowadays and I really don't think it's much of an achievement to get A- unless you only play Korean players. A lot of Korean A- players, even with 50% winratio are better than all but the top 5~ or so non Korean/Chinese players, and it sickens me to see people like lastshadow boasting an A- account with a good winratio just because he dodged a shitton of Korean players. Try playing against Koreans exclusively and I bet that guy wouldn't get past B rank, and if he did he would have to play a shitton of games and would have a shit winratio.
I've also restarted playing a little bit of diablo2 on the asia server, it's the game that got me into online gaming as much as I did and I kinda love/hate it for that reason. I can't play StarCraft all day and I'm bored of WoW also so I'll continue to play it a bit here and there when theres nothing else to do. Something else I did to pass some time lately was download an emulator and play some super old games. I finished double dragon the original yesterday, I used to love going to the arcades to play that game when I was like 8 years old haha, feels so funny to play that game like 15 years later.
I'm moving apartments on the 19th, moving into a 2 bedroom place with the girlfriend, but with seperate bedrooms. We both like our own space, time and privacy so that was the reason for that. Anyway, the place is bigger than the 1 room studio apartment I'm in right now, has a nice enough living area and is cheaper than where I'm at right now. It's also only a 10~ minute walk from where I'm at now so I'll probably still be going out to similar places which is a major + for me as I really like this area.
On the 29th I'm going to Japan for 2 days with Susie to meet up with Manifesto7, who stayed at my place for a few days not long ago (His blogpost is here: http://www.teamliquid.net/blogs/viewblog.php?topic_id=99096¤tpage=3). I have to leave Korea every 3 months because I don't have a visa and that's the excuse to visit Japan, but I'm looking forward to trying out some real Japanese food, staying in some luxurious hotel (pictures here: http://www.fushioukaku.co.jp/english/) and seeing the differences between Japanese and Korean culture.
Ye, I played two ftops events and the sunday mill today. Got really deep in the 500 HU event, ran pretty well and got lucky in drawing opponents. Drew a real fish with 8 players left but unfortunately I couldnt get much going and eventually stacked off when I called a 3-bet with AQs flopped a queen and got checkraised all in on the turn by KK. Idk if I could have played the hand diffrently but maybe I should check back turn alot there as this guy was very obv with his holdings in most situations. Anyways,
I shipped 14,3k for it so its not bad, still feel disapointed somehow but thats so standard and it will have passed tomorrow. Also went deep in the 300 freezeout and busted like 130th something for 1,1k and I also busted a ftp pro for an extra 200 and won some in cash so I can book a 15k day.
Feels good to run hot as ive been doing kinda mehish in cashgames. Been grinding 2/4 on ipoker playing like a complete lagtarded retard, its been alot of fun but I definitely need to tighten up if I wanna make some money in those games.
As for other stuff I am still hunting for an appartment to buy for when I start school, I spent the whole sunday looking at diffrent ones and will be bidding on them sometime during the week.
Owell now its 8 in the morning and I sorta should sleep and stuff. Take care kids
i think i push myself to hard when it comes to poker, everything under 20bb/100 is like a complete failure in my world on the low stakes as i play, and i always put down mosterous amount of hours..
looking at my last blogpost ive been running really bad aswell and its gotten to my head so much that i havent played to good either, wich leads to me really feeling like crap cuz poker is something really important for me nowadays.
Im not working either, so im just living off microstakes wins wich makes me not being able to move up stakes as i should/would like to. Especially now last months when i havent won as much as i woulda liked..
Lowering my goals, playing less = less stress.
Played a couple of sessions with a much more calm mind the last 3 days and it feels great.
cant control how i run, and ive been in kind of a lifetilted, blindish state of mind lately.
I also will cut down on my cashouts and just try to live a little cheaper for some month to really try and not feel stressed out over how much im winning.
will hang out with ex gf tonight, we are kinda close to getting back together. I really dont remember why we broke up in the first place anymore since she is really awsome and really loves me.. + shes hot (imo atleast)
feels good to be seing her again, have missed her alot last couple of months. also i can get my mind of poker for once.
pic of her doing some damn pose, just realised i dont have many "natural" pics of her even after 3 years of being a couple rofl
i run crap and still plays nl25 but atleast im getting some of the good shiet tonight :D
Before I go off on my very long and very rage-filled rant about how Pot Limit Omaha is the most rigged game ever, I'd just like to say that the drama between Evan and I (which really wasn't all that serious since it was just over 5k) has been cleared up, just a big misunderstanding that kind of went the wrong way. To recap a little bit since my last blog post, WSOP was a blast. Basically ran really good in almost everything I did. Got pretty lazy about playing the tournaments halfway through the series since I was destroying cash games pretty hard for a long stretch, so I only ended up playing 10 tournaments total all summer when I was planned on going on the super grind and play 22. The only thing that bugged me was that I thought I played a less-than stellar main event. My starting table was filled with nits with the exception of Faraz Jaka who sat two to my left. Had no clue who he was until he busted out at the end of day 1, but he made sure to make my life pretty miserable. Was pretty disappointed to how I adjusted to the situation overall. Made day 2 but was real short, and only lasted 2 hours before my KK got cracked by a flopped set of 9's

Ever since then I've been back in San Diego chilling. I have played less than 5 hours of online poker in the last month. It's been super relaxing actually. Went back to Palomar and my god run continued for a +15k first week back at mostly 5/10 and a little 10/20. My boy Clayton (The donkament player who makes vids for Leggopoker) has been living with us since Vegas, and so I've been learning PLO from him since he's been playing PLO for the majority of the past year and has been recently taking shots at 25/50 online. Most of my learning has just come from watching his sessions, and not really trying it out for myself.
So last night I decide to give PLO a little spin. I 4 tabled $.50/$1.00 for a good 4 hours, and ended up down like 6 buy-ins wtf... Not a good start. Woke up this morning and dropped another 2 buy-ins over an hour. That ain't good, but Clayton said it's just standard PLO variance. So I head to Palomar this afternoon and see that the wait for $5/10 is going to be a while. That's when the $25/50 PLO that was running caught my eye. Obv I take a shot, since the game looked pretty good to me considering I have smashed half the table in NL Hold'em. The game got a little bigger when two fish took a seat an hour or so after I sat, as they straddled every pot. I kept trying to get the game half PLO half NL Hold'em but there were some wet vaginas that kept refusing. My final hand went as follows:
Aggro fish straddles $100, weak/passive fish calls $100 in middle position. I am dealt in the CO. I pot it to $500 (they round up for pot amounts). Super mega fish who had not folded a hand in the past hour calls in the big blind. Straddler calls, and limper calls. Flop comes . All 3 players check to me, and I pot it for $2k. Mega fish in the big blind calls. And everyone else folds. Turn comes . Fish checks, and calls my last $3k shove, then rolls over for the epic wtf are you doing preflop / holy shit u are a moron / how the fuck did you pick up more outs / please god hold one time / don't let this retard fish ruin my first full day of PLO.

i cant win, ive came to the stage where i know im gonna get outdrawn when i hold the nuts by some random shit. and then it happends, again and again and i just laugh.. turning psycho for reals.
4 months, 500hours of play, 145BI under EV. (though they are never accurate but it forms a picture atleast)
im not joking, its all bad run. cuz i know im making +ev choices/plays all the fucking time...
is it really possible to run so TERRIBLY bad for such a long time?
edit:
may: was decent month $ wise though
june: its not as "good" as it looks like since almost all upswings on the graph is lower stakes regrindament and all downswings is higher stakes so $ wise it suxed..
July: just terrible
april suxed the most. i dont have those hands on this computer since i bought a new one and to lazy to transfer them, but thats the month where i went from 100NL to 25NL in a month and it was just sick all over luckwise..
Okay well time to give the official update on here that I did fail my main prop bet I had last month which was to make 10k at NL100. Luckily I had many other prop bets against people on either volume or most BIs won, me vs them. So after everything I was only down $800 in total prop bets. On Friday after I finally gave it up at nl100 I decided to play some 10/20 and 25/50, 4 tables for a little bit. Only really played 2-3 hands that went past the flop and got 4bet a few times at 10/20 but ended up a small winner before people finally convinced me to stop playing. I was happy taking a 10k shot and seeing what happened though.
Here I 2x pot on the river to get him off his full house

Those are the only hands more interesting then 0 percent that I played besides a few other light 3bets. I'm sure I will play some more super high stakes soon since I dont really mind losing the money but in the future I will probably just grind some 1/2 or whatever I decide to play.
My totals for the month ended up being
120kvpp/$12.5k fpp/milestones
+7.2k playing
-800 prop bet
+300 staking
Total $19,200
I am obviously very happy about this but still sucks that I failed my prop bet and didn't win an additional 10k (from the money I would have won playing/other prop bets I had). I am not really that upset because I know I will have other prop bets in the future that I will hopefully succeed at but in the meantime am going to get back to having a life and not playing poker 12 hours a day. Back to the gym/going out/meeting randoms/sleeping all the time. Also going to travel some this month so that should be exciting as well. Thanks to all that have read my blog and followed my challenge throughout the month. For the most part there have been many positive and nice comments made by some.
Yes I know I need to play less tables, stop tilting, learn to actually play poker, etc.. Will I actually end up doing any of that, probably not but that is to be seen.
Last few days have been nuts for me, played 30k hands i think 3 days and 20k the other. Was back up to around 9.2k and then of course had a good -million buyin session and was just left demoralized as ever. Even more then when i lost 15k last month playing higher. I sat in bed sad for about an hour and then decided would still give it a shot to make 3.2k last 2 days. Today started off well first session about +1100. My high point for the day was around 1.9k and i was looking good but then of course I don't go to sleep and just keep playing.
This month
I mean 29 BI day is possible but I don't think with my mindset right now I can do it. I am going to sleep and give it my best shot but if my first session doesnt go wel tomorrow morning then I am just going to book some of my losing prop bets and call it a month. Earned about 12.5k from fpp/milestones alone so that plus the 7k I made so far is still pretty good.
I made alot of prop bets this month and I am still going to win a few so will actually only end up down around 2.5k-3k in props which I can deal with. I am very excited to get back to a normal life and plan on dating about 15 girls next month to take my mind off poker some. Or I will end up just playing more poker lol idk yet. Some of the comments in my 2+2 thread for me being #1 at nl100 are really funny. Some people hating but alot of really nice people/comments.
I guess in a way it is attention whoring but it does have its positives. The most important for me is the amount of action I will be able to get in future prop bets is made so +++++ev with graphs I post/my threads. Also people just enjoy reading about me swinging 30 BI daily and if I was in their position I would defintly enjoy seeing it also and follow it. idk if this makes sense but I cant really think to straight right now so lol
I guess some positives came out of this month. I figured out I still have my grinding ability and am going to get SuperNova Elite for sure and ship the 100k in bonuses which of course is good. I figured out I need to work on my game and the tilting/dumb fucking plays I make. And I did make like 15k+ so the month wasn't a total failure imo.
I hope they dont have double VPP week first week of august also because then I have to play 24 hours a day then as well
Will update tomorrow with a final month review and who the f knows, maybe I can win 29 BI tomorrow. Well see
So after my 40k hand session I slept for a few hours and had a friend come up to stay with me so I wouldn't have that happen again. It has proven to be very very +ev for me when he comes up and we both grind here and I really can't wait till we get out to San Diego in a few months in our grind house. Have been back on the upswing since then including a super sick heater today in a few sessions I played at 6max and full ring. Just seemed like I wasn't running bad like I was during that session and my KK vs QQ were holding up. Only played a few hands but am up around 16 BI for the day which brings my monthly total to a little bit over 9k.
I have been right around 9k for the month 3 times and they were all followed by 40BI downswings right after which has demoralized me a bunch each time but luckily I am staying focused and know I have to get to 10k and win all my prob bets. I would much rather win 8k then lose 8k obviously! About time to get to sleep now and wake up and hopefully can ship it. We are going to be using a 8BI stop loss for potential future sessions this month so I don't end up to far away from the goal.
Today
The month total, only 40BI below EV also
Thanks for reading, hopefully next post will be me shipping this!!
why is it like this that u never get rewarded for making these sick herocalls..
(ps we had a pretty crazy 3betting dynamic, he is a regular laggy type player, not to good though postflop, but he attacks weakness and plays superaggro, hes not thinking to much of his own/my range to much and stuff, not to good at balancing, like alot of 25NL players)
allthough im happy i really think about the game..
I would never have concidered calling in a spot like this cuz its not really fun psychologically but when the logic and instinct come to play its really a good feeling afterwards when you make these herocalls and end up being correct.
First you bluff and then all of a sudden ur hands become a bluffcatcher with showdownvalue. Its really cool imo.
with our dynamic i never think he has AK and if he made some kind of 2 pair combo i dont think hes good enough to level like this and shove. i guess he could have it some % of the time but it just makes no sense, his shove dosnt match his range at all.
Well just got done with a very annoying nl100 session where i played 40,141 hands. Took about 19.75 hours to complete. Had set over set maybe 15 times, KK vs AA about 10. All in all, really enjoyable. I also managed to get it in preflop with 2 cards under 10 (my speciality) about 15 times and only win 2 . Meh.
Still at around +6.5k profit for the month at only nl100 so I can still make it back. I def didnt think I was playing awful besides getting it all in preflop so many times with retarded hands, but just running really bad. Low point was down around 4k and managed to get back up to only down 800 but then meh. Also made around 15k vpp so about 750 dollars in rakeback which is decent.
Other news I have also started staking a few people for nl100/nl50. I'm not to excited about it right now after this session but still going to try to work hard with it and see how it works out. Some new 14 percent 3bettors on the way imo.
Biggest stack I had was around 1.25k
