Misclicks by EXCELED, January 31

Been playing a lot the last few days. I got a busy start to this week coming up with 2 tests on Tuesday. I went home this weekend and there is never anything to do here in Cambridge so Ive been grinding.

Today was the first day I ran into some pretty tough spots. I think I played those hands prettty well and made real good reads. I dropped 2 BI pretty quick into the session running in AA twice. I had pocket 10's the one hand and should have just folded but I wanted a gambooool which was a mistake. The other one was pretty standard with QQ. Then I started running into kicker problems. AQ vs AK, AJ vs AQ but I lost the minimum on those so its alright.

I ended up chasing my losses tho for the rest of the session I played today. I got it all back pretty quick stacking someone with my kings full vs his sixes full of aces, and then I got AA all in pre vs someone and it held up. The rest was pretty breakeven so I decided to call it quits.

I made a ton of misclicks today too lol. A couple times I min raised when I wanted to make it more, other times a min bet on my cbet, hit call when I ment to hit fold etc. The worst missclick I had was when I made quads on the river and min bet a guy with the straight. He ended up calling my min bet... for sure could have gotten a lot more off him with a bigger value bet lol. Just gotta be more careful when making bets.

My NL game is coming along pretty nice. Ive been watching a ton of DC videos and they are doing wonders for my game. Im going to try and grind a roll for NL 50 and then start to focus more on HU once I get there. Its going to take a while but I know I can do it. Watching these videos really motivates me actually. After I watch one or while Im watching one I always want to start grinding lol its great. I havent really been motivated the last little while but it feels great to have that itch to put in hands again.

Tonight Im probably going to get pretty bombed. My good friend from highschool is moving to Australia for 6 months so she is having a going away party in St. Catharines. A lot of people are going so its going to be nice to see a lot of people I havnet seen in a while. Should be a great night.

We also got the GSP vs Penn fight tonight too. Im definitly cheering for GSP... gotta support my fellow Canadians. (even though hes french canadian lol) GSP is probably my favorite fighter. It really pissed me off when Penn ran into the octagon after GSPs last fight. I thought it was pretty disrespectful. I would never do that to a guy... you gotta let a guy have his minutes of fame. But anyways I hope Penn gets smashed just for that. GO GSP!

Tomorrow is the Superbowl too. Im not sure what Im doing for it because I need to go back to London but my buddies are having a Superbowl party up in St. Catharines. I might end up staying there and watching the game then coming back early Monday if thats possible. I got so much shit to Monday so Ill probably just end up going back to London on Sunday and watching the game at my place. I think it would be cool for the Cardinals to win because there franchise has just been so shit for so many years now. But really I dont think they are going to be able to do it. Steelers defence is just way to good and I thknk they will be able to shut down the Cardinals recievers. Who knows though.. anything cna happen on any given Sunday.

Anyways Im going to go get in a shoulder workout before I go to my hockey game tonight.

Have a good weekend guys,

EXCELED

Newer play board games with a mix of semidrunk and sober law students unless the rules are as easy as in tic-tac-too. We've been playing diplomacy the last 8 hours and we've played 10 rounds so far. Normal time is 15-20 minutes/round.

NL25 6m by NeillyJQ, January 31

NL25 has been going well, I went through a pretty bad downswing, found I was playing overly aggressive at the end of the downswing and made some necessary changes (was raising drawing hands utg and utg+1 which was giving my cbets less credibility which was giving my bluffs less credibility, also ran into a few set over sets, tptk on very drawy boards vs mid sets in 3bet pots, etc. So i cut out alot of the drawing hands to re-establish more credibility and have been giving myself a 2 bi stop loss, if i drop 2 bi, quit for 5 minutes to an hour and come back and play again, this way i don't dig myself too deep while playing poorly or running poorly or a combination, especially since I run 14-24 tables at all times)

I also cut out most of the hero calling, and have been looking at my hourly rate ($25.66 atm) much more so than ever before. This, combined with playing on over 50 buy-ins is giving me the comfort to play tilt-free poker, and stay logical in my decision making process.

After analyzing my game and making some changes, I continued to play my best, I stayed even for around 1-2k hands before I started to swing back up again.

Heres my chart of NL25 6max so far;

And my chart of NL25 so far;

http://www.liquidpoker.net/user_pictures/f66d0f0d2e02a378bf8ab488bab3320e.jpg

I plan on playing the monthly 100k today and the weekly 20k, as mentioned earlier, if i mention a tournament before playing it then there will be no $25 pay-out for playing in it.

Its taken me a little time getting used to being a 6max player again, its been over 15 months since I've been consistently a 6max player.

I'm feeling much more comfortable everyday at 6max though, and am very eager to hit 2k so I can move up to NL50.

Hopefully another 10-25k hands and I'll be there.

GL LP,
Ryan

Why are fridays so sick? Random update. by flounder44, January 31

As most of u know im a terrible player and how i have 50 buyins+++ on 100nl is a mystery but i been putting an insane amoutn of hours the last couple of months with a really shitty winrate like 1.5bb/100 on 100nl but ib een working on my game and started using my HEM hud after buying it like 2 months ago. I still suck at using it but i can tell if someone is spewy and how loose they are so i know how light to get it in with em and wheter to 3bet or not etc. And i been loosening up too so i get payed off with my strong hands, i used to checkfold 2pair in FR now i like betting it on non draw heavy boards etc. And i refuse to play more than 4 tables of 6max now bcuz i tilt too easy and i like to take my time. Usually my setup consists of 4 tables of 6max on my 22in monitor and 5 tables of FR on other monitor.

Hope everyone else is improving i can definitely see some improvements in ym game.

I only played 29 hours because of school =(. Wished I grinded more this semester but dota took over my life. February I'm definitely going to put in more hours and hope for a 5 digit month. Well here are the results.

January! by Bejamin1, January 30

No graph because for some reason that PG software never works for me anymore. I've been pretty busy the past for months basically making minimal money and cashing out while playing on average 10k hands per month. I decided this month that I was sick of such a pithy effort and wanted to go back to focusing on really working hard at my game the way I did in the summer.

I had a nice score for $866 or so winning a $50PLO freeze-out and considering I have something like an 80-100% average ROI in all the PLO tourneys available on stars I'm going to start making sure I play them whenever I get the chance. Other than that I've established new consistency at 50PLO and after the tourney win have made the jump up to 100PLO. The limit doesn't seem much different other than that I'm finally encountering a majority of thinking but simpleton players. They are fairly easy to exploit and I am currently just working hard at developing a steady game-plan that exploits this specific level. Hopefully I'll be moving up again to 200PLO before I know it if I can manage a good score in the PLO215 weekly which I'll be playing on FPP's pretty much every week.

Run Good Lp! Run Good!

January!@@#@ by k2o4, January 30

wtf are all you people doing posting january results right now? YOU STILL HAVE A FUCKING FULL FRIDAY AND SATURDAY NIGHT! How can you consider January over when you've got 2 great days left for poker? Are you just trying to get a post in before the rush or did you just have a good session and decide that you'd do your jan post now to secure a winning month?

I hate the end of the month. Blog section ends up being so boring and if a good blog does get posted it gets pushed off by a million month end results posts.

Anyway, January ain't over yet baby. Here's to hoping for a good friday and saturday night!

january by whamm!, January 30

not as good as expected but did make like 4kplus total this month, im kinda out of the scared money zone at 100nl now so im quite happy about that, ran so-so this month but overall im happy with it. 100k for the year will be kinda hard to accomplish with a starting 4k month i know but i did play a lot of 50nl to start this month coz of being underrolled for 100nl megatabling (23bi). i plan to take more and more 3bi shots at 200nl this feb unlike last year where i also had almost the same amount i had this month/year which is about 6500usd and didnt take any shots whatsoever. hope to reach 12k next month and be a 200nl reg and start catching up to the SNE or 800kvpp minimum year. a lot of mediocre success i had this month is due to fact that i have a lot of life tilt and personal issues, no excuses but hey being this age with a family and trying to play poker for a living is really hard . i really felt january lingered a bit too long and i felt that it kinda lasted forever lol didnt play that many hands as planned, i hope to change that by next month.

btw. fuck the euro. my savings so far has dropped in value considerably coz of europe fucking up big time, im starting to love the diry philippine peso more and more each day lol. gl

JANUARYYYyyyy by Night2o1, January 30

So this is the month that I feel like poker has really taken off for me, and I'm really, really pleased. I started playing in June, really turned up the heat in October/November. I struggled for a long, long time to get past NL10-- NL25 just seemed like such an insurmountable obstacle. I ran bad during many of my shots, but I really just wasn't ready for the next level yet. I lost an incredible 68 buyins before it all clicked at the very end of December.

What clicked? Well, I had to start adjusting to villains properly. I was having a lot of trouble adjusting to individuals, to regs vs fish, to aggro fish, etc. It wasn't that I didn't know "how" to adjust but that I simply didn't have the confidence to make use of my observations and educated guesses on their play. It was a problem with my confidence in my observations.

So I said fuck it and started doing what I knew I had to do-- adjust--and I took off at a reasonable winrate at nl20 and hopped to nl50 quickly.

Anyway, that's my little poker story so far. I still have a ton to learn and I'm looking forward to it..

50% of what I made this month is rakeback/bonuses, but it counts anyway!

All of jan combined, w/ rakeback+bonuses

I've also fulfilled my goals for this month. I'm an nl50 reg I also made 2k profit with everything added up.

My goals for February:
Improve
$2k+ profit
nl100 reg by March 1st

And thanks to everyone at LP^^
