Played much better today, with a real focus on not thinking myself out of my first decisions. My attempts to do this started off with a real test as I end up quickly being stuck 2bi, and then quickly getting 5bi deep with 2 other players on my table, one of whom was a SICK maniac. Basically I stuck to my guns and went with what I thought was the best decision in each hand, I think I ended up break-even or 1-3hundred up vs the sick maniac, other guy was a nit. We probably traded like 3k between the two of us in a matter of 3 hours. I think I made 1 real $200 spew against him but overall I'm happy with my play vs him.

I ran good and finally got one of those sick "lol awesome" setups, in a btn vs sb vs my bb I got it in 3way vs two $500 stacks with AA v KK v AQ and held.

Also flopped KQss on 9TssJc vs QTcc, all in on the flop for 2bi and obv the turn brings the Kc to make me shit my pants, and brick river for the freakin chop.

Anyway, just looking to get/keep my head right. I re-looked at my BR/life savings situation and I don't feel like I'm at any risk of failing / busto'ing anymore, and that helped a lot. Worst that can happen is I might have to push my plans back a month or so along the way.


Anyone who's still in vegas and wants to meet/party/play poker, has a crew still here, whatever, I'm pretty much hanging out completely solo now.. so PM me, as I'd like to meet some peeps during the next 4-6 weeks I'm here.

so in another attempt to boost my failing self esteem i am offering free coaching

my resumé is getting a little pathetic because i havent played in about 5 weeks but i can boast lifetime earnings of around 35k from nl10 july 7 08 --> nl200 june 1 09 not counting tournament winnings and bonuses

i would actually like to coach someone who would actually take it far, then mabe i'd feel like i wasnt a complete failure

i specialize in fr but i assure you i can assist in basically anything up to 100nl and very likely help to improve a winrate in the 200nl games that i cant seem to bring myself to play in

Fucked up the title ~ July not June T_T writing at 1am

I play NL5 fullring on ps, after beginning the month with some really bad play late at night + some tilt i lost about 18BI on June 5th, had to pull through and do a lot of homework, i started playing a lot more solid recently, and won quite much the last 2 days ( weekends are sick at the micros , full of fishes bigger than me )

so heres my july winnings so far, bankroll is about 210, planning on giving NL10 a shot when i reach 250$

Today some friends texted me, i was supposed to go the casino in center of Seoul being in Coex, but the friend i was going with wanted to go to the much further away casino, the one with "better looking waitresses" .... So we flipped a coin for it and ended up going to his choice.

Now at these casinos they usually have 1000/2000won or 2000/5000won blinds, 1000 won being about 0.80$

But surprisingly tonight they only had 1 table running with 2/5, i didnt know if they were gonna open another table for 1/2 anytime soon so i chose to sit down, was told minimum buyin is 200 000, decided to buy in for 300 000, which is the amount i was gonna buy in for even at 1/2.

I folded a hand of two then i pickup AQo in SB, 2 guys limp i make it 30 000, 1 caller.
flop AJ2r i bet about 3/4 pot and he snap calls, i didnt have much info on the guy but he was asian and over 40 and usually those guys are stations, turn is a 4, i bet about 110 000 and he shoves over me, im commited and make the call thinking he could have AJ or AK but im pretty sure i have him.

How surprised was i when he showed A5o... River was a useless card and i doubled up very early.

Few hands later im dealt 79s, and limp, people love to limp in Korea, dont ask me why or how they just do. so almost everyone at the table limped and the flop is 774r, check check , some guy bet small , and i RR to 45, everyone folds except the guy who had originally raised calls me, its pretty obvious he has a 7 and he has more chips than me gonna have to proceed safely. Turn is a 9 giving me the nuts, he checks i raise again kinda strong once again knowing that he will call with his 7 and he does. Turn another 9, he bets kinda big but still smaller than what i had left, i push allin and he flips over A7 and seemed really pissed when he saw he was beat.

Two double up already and i have over 1 200 000.

Im card dead for about an hour limp a pot or two, never raised nor picked up any pocket. just observed and tried to kinda profile everyone.

Finally i pickup AA, some Japanese guy raises 15, and some guy who works as prop at the casino, Korean American calls, he was one of the good players at the table and was very deep. Im on the button and i make it 60 which in the moment i thought was good, but looking back at it wasnt enough because the first guy was a station and he was giving odds to the 2nd guy to call with almost any 2 cards seeing as how deep he and i were.

So they both call and the flop comes K33, the first Japanese guy bets like 10 000 into 180 000, and the Korean/American folds instantly, so im guessing he had a pocket and missed. I reraised him allin because he had about as much as pot and i think hes full of it.

He install calls making the pot about 650 000won, and flips over K2s then i think again WTF are they guys doing. Im like 91% favorite but a King comes on the turn crushing my hopes to win this pot, no Ace on the river.

After this i was a bit tilted to see this guy winning a single pot, calling 60 000 pf with K2s and i just went home shortly after. Being up 485 000won is not bad but today i should have won over a million, then again it could have been worse!

My friend who usually plays high stakes didnt play any big hand except one where he made a king high flush when someone had the nut flush and he lost about 300 000 in it.

So my girl, zaragyemo, and I went to a home game tournament tonight. $20 buyin, 1 rebuy after u got knocked out or you could add-on at the first break.

First hand I'm in the BB and get AJs, blinds are 25/50 with 3k stacks. 2 limpers and the button raises to $150 (fish). I repop to like $500 (this was questionable but I figured I could outplay him even OOP) and limpers fold, button calls. Flop comes 337 and I cbet about $800 and he calls, but I can see that it's slightly reluctant and he's not acting. Turn hits a 10. I look at him and it's clear that he doesn't want me to bet. I put him on AQ or AK at this point and there's no flush draw out there and I have about a pot sized bet left, so I jam figuring he'll fold. He thinks for a bit and does a "fuck it" type of call and turns over AQ. River bricks and I'm rebuying right away.

I don't mind my play cause he was totally new to me and my read was dead on, I just had no idea he'd go all in with A high on the first hand like that. I wouldn't risk it if there was no rebuy but oh well.

Ran bad for a while after that, raised some limpers with AQ twice and missed the flop and had to fold. Get down to about 5 M and get AK, jam over a raise and take it down pre. About this time zaragyemo busts out after she'd been slowly losing chips all night. She rebuys. 1-2 hands later I get QQ and I jam over about 5 limps with 8 M and it folds and I take it. Then the next hand I get JJ and even though I have about 10 M now, with my image and the fact that any raise other than AI will put me in a spot to Jam the flop, I just Jam again. The guy to my left who had been talking about calling me with 22 since I am so aggro calls, and zaragyemo also calls. When she called I said "FUCK" cause I knew I was crushed. I turn over JJ, the guy to my left turns over KK, and zara turns over AA! Flop and turn brick, river brings a K, and we're both out.

What a night. Off to go party it up.

I left Vegas last night. Its such a great city. So wonderful in so many ways, but at this time of the year its a bit too hot. It was over 40'C all the time. One of the biggest disapointments also is that I didnt meet any LPers over there. Next year that will happen guaranteed!

I havnt have time to play too much the last days since we have been so busy. We have been to a hypnosis show, went on a helicopter tour over the Grand Canion and went all around Vegas. I loved it!
The only session I played in Bellagio came with a small win, but overall the Vegas trip wasnt too good when it comes to the results. I think I ended down about 1300$. I am very disapointed with that since the games were sooo soft! I want to come back there and just grind live for a couple of weeks! It would be awesome and a nice boost to the roll!

I am going home on tuesday (after some days in Santa Monica, LA) so the trip is almost over. It has been 2 excellent weeks and I must say America is really great in so many ways. I might write something later about the differences if I have time. Its something to do for everyone who hasnt been here!

I just got my new tv from my poker winnings. I guess my biggest splurge with poker winnings. It's a Samsung LN40B550 40 inch 1080p TV. It kinda sucks cuz my room is so small and my tv is infinitely larger than my computer monitor which is 22". Anyways this thread is useless without pics so here they are!

Played some HU last night to get to 93 total BI for the month and then figured I would finish up the 10K goal and win my bets i have. Unfortuantlelyly things did not go according to plan and i got stuck a bunch to start. 15 hours later I am writing this blog, havent slept in idk when, cant see anymore, havent eaten in hours excpet a few oatmeal creampies and yogurt. Low point was down 2.5k but managed to get back to only being down -500 a few times but just couldn't get there. Am finally giving up now becasue i can't think straight anymore and am just clicking random buttons. Ran kinda bad but overall played pretty bad, got all in preflop with awful hand (J7ss, 68ss, etc..) about 5 times and lost them all and was just playing like a god damn maniac after awhile. Isoing the fish with atc, cbet, 2 barrel, ALLLL IN! I hate full ring lol, sleep then wake back up!!! Fucking love poker!! At least I made 10k VPP!

Curious, what should I do differently in a rebuy tournament? It's only 1 Rebuy. Should I play pretty loose before the rebuy period is up and hope to spike and win some sorta huge pot? Then if I get stacked rebuy and play normal?

I'm playing a live tournament at a friend of a friends house tonight for the first time and I've never played a tournament with rebuys before, so no clue how this affects the strategy. halp
