| | FTP RB how? by gororokgororok, October 14
I had some accounts in the past that played with real money on 10$ tables and stuff, that was like 2 years ago. But I lost all the details + passwords of these accounts. I decided I might want to open a FTP account and play there as well, but without rakeback I'm never going to play it.
So my question, how do I get rakeback? Does FTP rly dont want new clients? : [
thanks in advance

So random updates on everything:
Poker is going good. Played like 40k+ hands so far this month for a profit of just under 10k + rakeback. A lot of omaha which I'm learning very fast. Really excited about that and planing to put like 5k on some other site just to be able to play in more games since it's seldom more then like 2-3 5/10+ games going on at the same time on prima unless you get heads up action. Not sure if I can bring myself to leave my beloved Unibet though.
I'll start some courses soon so I won't be able to play as much in November and December which means that I'll have to play a lot this month to compensate for that. So far I'm ahead of my 20k/month goal since I took a break from law school but not by so much that I can just relax and say fuck it the rest of the year. Gotta grind!
Saw the Sweden vs Denmark game with some friends. Two guys from my hometown, two law students with their gf's and my roomie. After the game everyone chilled for a bit with some drinks and such and my hippie friend from back home took a gitarr and played and sang. The Wild Rover (NO NEVER NO MORE!) was a big hit. The we hit the town and people got lost if different directions but despite that I felt really happy and such despite actually dancing for a few hours. Got fairly drunk, tried txting the asian girl since I started to feel like a fifth wheel. My good law school friend P's gf J saw that and tried to read what I wrote, decided that I couldn't write like that and that I should probably be a bit nicer. I told her that I did respect her opinion a lot, however, I didn't care for it now but if I would every try to booty call someone I actually cared about I promised to first ask her opinion. Surprisingly enough she seemed happy with that. P approached me a few minutes later and asked me what happened. I told him that we had disagreed about the details of drunk late night text messaging. He seemed worried and told me that J always got her will through at which point I told him of the compromise and added that I would never dream of going against her suggestions since in this world I'm only afraid of 3 things; Death, Oliver Khan and her. He seemed happy with that. Got Asian girl to come over and took a cab home with her. I'm not really a fan of being drunk and sleeping with people at all but considering the alternative of going home alone or trying to pick someone up while in the state of mind I was in it was nice enough.
In other news I've started listening to Elvis Costello. He's fairly good.

Pokers been goin pretty shitty latley, had a great month last month, but overextended myself after an $11.2k cashout playing too high in the MTT circuit, no excuses, I just sucked and kept making bad plays at wrong times, getting sucked out on and playing uber retarded, playing in some 109r's and 1091r1a's that i dusted left n right like a jackass.
By the time the volume of 70~200 MTT's were played in 3 days and I had won around 2k and lost about 9k for a total of -7k. I now have less than a 1k left online, and don't really care to play any tournaments at all or deposit anymore money, although I may put 2k on or something to expediate things, although I see no rush, other than getting to 200k VPP (have 180k now)
Fucking MTT...They are so gamble, puts greed in blood, I was attempting to be a fulltime MTT player, but I don't see it happening until I have atleast 45k saved
Cashgame is steady solid and is so much calmer and more relaxed. (Since I moved back to PA 3 weeks part time)
http://www.liquidpoker.net/user_pictures/b614b.PT3.jpg
I enjoy havin $ in the bank, have a very soft casino closeby, playing 1/2 there, its roughly $45-$60/hr, compared to vegas where its $18-$30/hr
I'm going to continue to grind live when its lucrative, and continue to play FR cashgames online, playing at 2 cent 5 cent and working up on 100 bi. I'll put $ on for some certain MTT's I want to play or be staked, but the fucking swings in MTTs are so huge and really fuck with my head.
I moved from Las Vegas, got a nice apartment that I'm still furnishing, a new car when I left Vegas (new to me)(that I wrecked into a sign..had to drive it home illegally at night because I was driving with a spider smashed windshield, some near death experiences happened, was nuts, tire blew out, couldn't see through windshield, was being towed down a hill in the rain with bald tires and a donut that blew 2 minutes after we started, and my windshield motor was fucked so I couldn't even repel the fucking rain -_- *happened 45 minutes from home*)
Turned 25 on the 3rd of the month, been blazin alot, relaxing at my new place, spendin time w/ alot of family and friends
(I was playin from bros house last few days when I epicly threw away 50% of my money in three days)
Meh, so you can OPR the results for a giggle if you'd like
I'm gonna go relax for a bit, smoke a fatty and prolly grind some tables
Fridays and Saturdays are my main work days now, 2 days a week in the casino and building on 100bi online (500bi rebuy MTT's/90-180 Man Turbo SNG's) - Some staked MTT's as well, might as well play them without any greed.
I may be hero'ing all the 162's and 55 70k some nights on stake, but playing on 100bi all the way up to NL100, knowing NL100 is my ceiling for now (atleast for 2 - 12 more months) (NL200+ tables are so packed full of regs and pro shorties, NL100 seems to be way more lucrative and much easier)
Mostly a live player now, 25-40+bi there, relaxing, enjoying the lighter side of life, not stressin pokerz, fuck it, fuck paper, fuck life, fuck it all, im just gonna relax and pwn n00bs at the casino and play online on 100bi. Get back to 10k whenever, and start cashing out online again, staying at NL100 until I'm confident that I'll be ready to take the leap to NL200 and maintain a solid 2BB/100+ winrate mass tabling.
So thats whats been goin on,
GL LP,
Ryan

| | HUGE UPDATE: Poker Results and Future Plans by capaneo, October 13
Warning: This post might sound like a brag!
I checked out the Audit function on PS and it came to my mind that it would be a great idea to figure out how much I have cashedout/Deposited at poker.
Im going to take this opportunity to update LP about what I am up to.
I knew I was up overall after playing poker for like 3-4 years doing Engineering at school. But after my school started to kick in badly in 2008 I thought that I would not have made money in poker in excess of 50K overall or something.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/user_pictures/f531c.yearly.JPG
http://www.liquidpoker.net/user_pictures/931f9.accum.JPG
I felt really encouraged looking at the results. Knowing that I never gave poker %100. School has been my no1 priority ALL THE TIME.
I am a mech engineering student currently working at Shell plant in Alberta. Doing my last year of school next year and I am well in the top %10 of my class(I am registered in this honor society stuff for whatever that means!)
So it felt REALLY good to know that Im up well over 100k at poker. Specially have it as my 3rd-4th priority. (after school/GF/family and all that stuff.)
I will never play poker professionally because average worker that I know at my current job makes more money at than a solid 400nl player will make. And doing a job has ALOT more upward potential than playing poker.
But other than being encouraged I was also stunned! I have NO IDEA what I have done with this money.
You have to keep in mind that with this money I didnt pay any rent. I didnt pay anything for school. And I didnt pay for my necessary expenses.
I get money from some assets that I have which my family manages and send me my share.
I dont go out. I HATE dance clubs/parties and I think its a huge waste of time. I dont spend ANY money on girls. I do travel around but not much. (like 2 EU/Asia a year.) Basically I dont have much money saved. Maybe at most 20k in my bank account in Canada.
Future:
The future Poker goal is to play poker from time to time but have it at low priority. Maybe even lower than before since Im about to get even more busy at my life. But Im not gonna stop playing. My first goal is to get even in PTR(-25k) by sometimes next year.
My job/professional goal is to make some big changes/corrections in the Shell Plant that Im working at by April.
Im also in the process of starting a Coffee Shop biz with my GF and a Real Estate Investment company with a bunch of friends. And also planning to do a very small import/export business to try-out/Renew some old connections(Less than USD1000).
I might update this space with the results on all those adventures!
And my most importantly, my new life goal is to not spend one dime without giving it a second thought.
Anyway. Plz leave comment if u care. it encourages updates!
Also on a short news site. Peter Schiff is going on a floor tour with Rick Santelli!!! CNBC is probably going to make a 4-5min piece out of it which is going to be amazing to watch.

| | Back, Shortly by k2o4, October 13
So I've noticed that ever since I stopped obsessing with my results and focusing entirely on playing well, I have had less of an urge to blog about poker. I used to do lots of posts with graphs and stats and hands and blah blah. If I had a good session I wanted to tell the world and I was obsessed with admiring my graphs and bb/100. If I ran bad I wanted to tell the world and show them my EV graph and how much I SHOULD have won.
Now I don't care about any of that shit. I play a session and the only thing I check is how many hands I played cause I like to try and do at least 2k a day. But I never force myself to keep playing to hit 2k or to stop playing cause I hit 2k. It's just a general goal. If I start tilting after 200 hands then I quit and if I don't get mentally together again then I don't play anymore that day. I rarely ever check my BR and only occasionally look at graphs and session results. Usually I check HEM about 1 time a week but I've gone a month without looking at my BR or HEM graphs/results.
Wow, I went off on a tangent there. My point was that even though I wanted to get back into blogging, I have very little to blog about. So I guess I'll talk about non poker stuff.
I just got back from a week long trip to Washington DC which was awesome. I was there to work on a conference that my dad was holding but it doubled up as a chance for me to see some family. My GF came with me and we spent as much time at my grandma's house as we could where we ate the best food ever. She used to be a private chef for lots of fancy people in DC but she's retired now and her #1 customers are me and my brother, and now my GF too =) So that was awesome. The conference was fun too.
This was the first time I actually drove in DC cause usually I'm only there for xmas and when we go out it's a family thing and my uncle usually drives. But since we were working I was driving a lot and the first few days of driving in DC were insane. That place has the craziest traffic laws and confusing roads and aggressive drivers. It's like LA aggression while driving in a maze. Most locals I talked to said they hated driving in downtown DC and that they avoided it whenever they could, lol. But after a few days I figured out enough that I was able to get around smoothly.
Now I'm home for a week during which I'm trying to play lots of poker. Before I went to DC I was in the best mental zone for poker that I've ever achieved in my entire life, so I was a bit upset that I had to go spend a week working long days with no poker. I spent yesterday getting caught up with other work stuff and today I finally got to play again. First session I was scattered and played badly, but the second session went much better. I'm getting much better mental control which is my main focus right now. I'm excited to play every day till the 20th, when I will be going to India for about 10 days. Another conference.
Having some friends over for games and maybe some poker tomorrow night. Then Friday dinner with my dad and Saturday an office bonding party. Lots to do and loving everything. I think that might be part of why I'm not so into blogging lately - nothing to complain about!

| | Happiness - A FT! by Chewits, October 13
http://dl.getdropbox.com/u/2269158/ship.jpg
Finally made my first FT in a big MTT. And to be quite honest i thought I played well. Considering i dumped off like 1 million in chips in a typo mis-bet when down to 2 tables, I so easily could have busted quickly after that, but kept my focus and built my chips up. The players were soooo bad. So tight, I was stealing blinds left right and centre, with no problems.
At Final table, big hand that set me back was 99 vs KK. I opened 2.75 bb and he shoves over top and i have him covered by about twice, and insta call. Maybe a little too hastey, but cant see how I can fold that vs short stack. Lessons learned.
Pretty happy! Now gotta win a MTT!

| | Little review nl200 so far by Night2o1, October 13
I've played 22k hands at nl200 now, and I'm feeling pretty consistently confident in my game and ability to beat this stake. This is a pretty big milestone for me and I'm proud of myself for getting to nl200. I feel like I can keep going up in stakes with a little time. 1/2 is a pretty big deal seeing as how I was the guy who basically spent 6 months full time trying to beat nl25 when I first learned of poker..
This month and through the rest of the year my goal is to get to 2/4, but I'll be happy so long as I put in good hours, keep learning, and profit a thousand or 2 each month. I'm hoping that no sick negative variance comes and shits on me (I've been getting the best of it for like 40k hands .. ).
Thanks to everyone who takes the time to talk in my hand postings as well as my friends who've helped me along the way and continue to do so:D!
(I know I make a gushy post like this practically every month but SUCK ITTTT)
nl200 graph with RARE EXPECTED VALUE LINE!
http://www.liquidpoker.net/user_pictures/756e8.22k hands at nl200.jpg
Time to relax and play some HON as I put in a solid 5 hours of poker today (hard worker I know.. sigh, it feels like a lot atm for some reason tho :/).

| | There is thin line between love and hate by killmepl, October 13
Yup, on one hand I loooove russian micro players on the other utg limp/call c/c c/c c/c with 52o J22Ax yup fun.
My classes started - more interesting than the other year. Electronics and programing - good stuff.
Last few days I bounced off from a bottom and played 11k hands till today.
Running like 5.6 blind/100h (dunno which bb or BB is for big blind ), so step by step I'm going forward.
[txt 'bout rl]
It would be nice if I could get a scholarship, but I don't know how yet how to divide the time between sudies and pkr. Scholarship is like 450PLN ~ $160 /month for year, so for now it would me more profitable to study more than play, but if I play more, faster I will beat supermicro shitstakes and start playing nl25 and higher.
As for now, my plan is to play poker when I can, and when exams will start, to really really really study hard.
[/txt 'bout rl]
I started to record my sessions. What I can say - I concentrate better on session because I don't want to mess anything up so no reading LP and no play with winamp and most importantly no checking cashier every five minutes when playing.
When done playing, I review vid first, take notes, then will discuss with friends. I think it will give me something to my game.
current br: 159
hands till now : 11150/50000
Stay tuned.

| | Long overdue update~ by Critterer, October 13
So, last time i posted was some roundup of june which sucked.
The rest of my summer sucked pokerwise but was really fun non-pokerwise so meh its all alright.
To summarise:
June: Lots of hands, pretty much breakeven
July: Not so many hands, breakeven
August: Again not so many hands, won like 10 buyins only
September: Again really lame, breakeven
http://www.liquidpoker.net/user_pictures/c0d28.winning by month.jpg
Took a couple shots at nl100 during july and august and both times ran like ass and had to move back down to nl50, where i continued to grind it out running like shit too but managing to somehow breakeven. Pretty much the longest breakeven stretch ive been on, like 100k hands or something for +5 buyins which is practically breakeven over such a period.
Deposit bonus of $300 free helped pad my role and the fact that i was playing fairly overolled for FR (nl50 with 25-30 buyins) meant it wasnt that stressful despite running awful.
Somehow after my break in september i start last week on like 7th oct and since then i ran nicely lol. crushed 10 buyins at nl50 in 5k hands then decided lolz move up to nl100. Finally it clicked and im back in the green on nl100 (and on pokertableratings which is very important).
October stats:
http://www.liquidpoker.net/user_pictures/48f52.october stats.jpg
June 01-> Now
http://www.liquidpoker.net/user_pictures/19883.june-oct.jpg
So now im sitting on a healthy BR for nl100, about to get the 50k fpp required for the supernova $800 milestone bonus. So thats gunna pad my role a bit once i hit that (48.4k atm).
So yea all is well atm hopefully it continues like this too~

| | lol burnoutz by PplusAD, October 13
actually i had a poker burnout some days ago ...
I played 12K hands in 4 days 10 tabling 6 max Nl50 having decent profits 525$+
5th day i started the session and begun with a nice + 110$ within the first 1030 hands
but then suddenly i got burned out , played liek a maniac and almost lost sanity ....
continued for another 3K hands or so playing like a monkey feeling like on drugs ...
ended the day - 200$
lolz never had this before ...
everything felt like completely unreal
playing too many hands too many tables can make u crazy
i took a few days off poker and returned today
8 tabling a relaxed 905 hands session on Nl506max doing + 109$
was actually up +220 at some point but then i stopped after this ridiculous hand.
LP vs SB ~ 140bb deep
me small blind
Late position player is a reg who is quite agressive and we have some decent 3 bet history
He raises LP i have AQs in small blind and 3 bet him to 5.50
he calls
flop 7QX flushdraw
i bet he raises i call
turn Q
we get it in and he shows 77
lol fuck
well thats the pokerz

| | PLO or NLHE by Ygkjh, October 13
For a micro stakes grinder (nl10/plo5) with lots of time to study and practice either of the games, which would you recommend at this point?
I've been playing poker for about half a year+ seriously now and have slowly turned profit in both games and have now come to a point where I think I should specialize in either of the two to make my learning process quicker.
I think I'm quite a bit better at NLHE than I am at PLO, I've played more hands on hold'em than omaha and obviously the amount of information that can be gained from reading books/forums is far greater in hold'em right now as PLO information seems limited. Compared to the competition at the micro stakes though I'd say I have about the same edge in both games.
The biggest reason I'm currently strongly considering PLO is that the game is still much younger in the way that it isn't as defined as NLHE is and because of that the competition should be quite a bit softer allowing for easier makemoneygogo activity. Variance scares me a little though, I've yet to go in to a huge PLO downswing so I'm not sure at all how I'd take it.
Thoughts? Would love to hear any opinions.

| | Today's session. by RaiZ, October 13
Because nobody liked my nl5 shot, i decided to grind like a robot in nl2.
NewBsaibot may be right, i don't like the way nl2 is played, i guess that's why i get frustrated and/or busto everytime i try to play this limit.
http://img207.imageshack.us/img207/6828/sanstitreji.jpg
http://img397.imageshack.us/img397/9228/sanstitrehq.jpg
Only 4600 hands and already 5bi under EV. Not to mention the rake which is really hard to grind...
My pfr is low compared to the vpip because i'm so tired of raising smalls pairs in FR NL2 since i won't get any value from them even if i try to Cbet, or even raising them in late position (unless they all folded to me which is VERY uncommon).
Feel free to ask if you want to review some of my hands.

| | nl50 ---> nl100 by jasper5408, October 13
i always do this when i'm about to move up a limit. there seems to be massive blogging so i hope a few of you guys do get to find this post.
anyway i always ask for a few tips on game dynamics and aggression differences/nuances although it's probably easier to just sit at a nl100 or watch/observe a nl100 table. it's sorta weird because i have lots of confidence in my game but nl100 actually intimidates me. i feel like most of the ppl at this level, have all done the same things i have. so therefore i feel slightly outclassed (as they have been at this lvl longer than i have). anyway yea. i've been putting this off for a while even though i've been rolled for it. i still don't have a hud yet which i probably need asap. can anyone sell for a discount? i'm willing to buy from reputable members. also i figure i prob need a dc or cr subscription sometime even though i effing hate watching videos :/ prob better for me personally to spend 50-70 on like 2 sweat sessions from someone who plays/beats these limits regularly. anyway that's all.
so yea any tips moving up to nl 100?
