So lately i've really been grinding, trying to make up for my past 2 months. I think I lost around 20k in june, and won around 10k in july, which is pretty poor results.
I've put in alot of hands this month, anywhere from 2/4 to 25/50, with most of the bulk at 5/10 and 10/20. i've won at every limit except 2/4, lol, but then when i play 2/4 i just 12 table and go crazy when i don't want to think really, usually playing like 35 vpip 12 tabling.
I am up around 26k so far in august, and plan to keep grinding and trying to play good and solid and avoid tilting. This month i'm trying not to be sloppy at all, which is easy to do. (By sloppy I mean playing like PLO high stakes or HU matches i shoudln't be in and things of that sort, just in general avoiding -ev games)

| | Some Assclown at White Castle... by Sloverville, August 11
Had a good week even though i was down $150 yesterday. I was up over $200 from 50nl and some heads up games but i dropped 3.5 buy-ins playing 100nl. UGH. The last 1500 hands there have been ugly. I dont know why but i find myself playing far too loos preflop and bluffing in spots i dont ever bluff at. My main problem has been playing too loose in early position. My PT position stats are terrible in 1st and 2nd position. The last 2 days im sporting a 29 VPIP which is how i use to play before i tightened up. I like to be somewhere around 21-22 these days. I did end up +230 for the week at 100nl which is good but im gonna hold off 100nl for now. Ill take a few more shots next week and try not to be so tilty.
This weeks PT and PG

The last 5000 hands arent pretty. Got variance?

*Story removed so certain people wont read.
Good luck at the tables.

So I've played like 15k hands so far this month and I'm up like 3.3k or so. Last two days have been a bit slow and I might be down a bi or so, but before that I ran really good. Here's some hands:
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/248908 <- Valueshove with AQ-high
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/248911 <- Valuebetaments
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/247570 <- more fun with AQ.
Anyway, I'll be back down in Uppsala the 16th, I was supposed to be there a bit earlier but some ex that won't remove her pants for me begged for attention and wanted to see me the 15th because she won't get home before that and since I'm a sucker for playing with boobies I figured that I could stay with my parents for another day or two. It'll be really cool to move down though, I've got a new TV, I'll buy a new computer from a friends who works at some electronics store in sthlm and I'm pretty sure that my soon-to-be-roommates might be really cool people. If I play more tables I might not run at 30/25/4 which would probably do me good.
also; take a look at this, so good!

| | day xxxxxxxx by whamm!, August 11
hi ive been grinding these past few days after that horrible dry spell i had, went on to lose like 12bi at 50nl in a matter of 3 days. ftp is just so farking rigged tilting is very easy to do to be honest with you i did tilt a little, probably mustve wasted like 3bi on tilt, i promised myself not to tilt anymore but sometimes its just hard to control, well thats just one of the worst leaks in my game perhaps, self control. im glad to say that i seem to be improving in that area lately, and at the moment i am just down like 4bi from my last good run. ill grind this out till i get there again and one i get my rakeback ill be overrolled for 50nl and i think ill stay here for a while before moving up to 100nl probably two weeks from now when im like 3500usd or something.
http://imgcash1.imageshack.us/img182/7889/ownijkh0.th.jpg
p.s.
ive also noticed that since i stopped playing oop with big pots and coldcalling raises with certain trouble hands, my variance has definitely lessened immensely. i cant explain how much fun poker is without having to think about situations wherein i just dont know where im at, i guess calling raising and folding pf with the proper hands is vital to improving your winrate. lately is been safe poker but fun. gtg. ill update when i get to 100nl ;

Probably my own fault as well, due to hands like this -> http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/248783 or http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/248800 . Dunno, might be questioning my play too much due to meeting a lot of sets in these type of circumstances. Most costly hand would be http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/248774 . Shouldn't I have slowplayed there? I figured there weren't many hands that beat me there, nor were there many draws (K97 rainbow? Perhaps a gutshot.)

Today I just found out that my uncle has colon cancer.
Fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck.
I'm not much of a regular poster here but I guess I needed to write it somewhere so here goes. He's an orthopedic surgeon at probably one of the biggest hospitals in Korea and today I just found out the news about his colon cancer. There is a 15 cm tumor in his colon. I've known him quite well and even during my visit to Korea I've stayed at his place. He's been quite the smoker over the years and through my research, smoking increases your risk of colon cancer by 40%. This is my first real experience with someone close to me that has been diagnosed with an illness like this. Needless to say, it's really beyond shock. Experiencing this for the first time, it really does fucking suck.
On a poker note, the day that I found out about this, I had nothing better to do so I started to play some poker. But needless to say, my mind was on my uncle and I really couldn't give a fuck about what was happening poker wise. I dropped 400 at 50NL but surprisingly, it hasn't really affected me as much as it would any other day. Now I'm at a position to grind back up at 25NL to get decently rolled for 50NL.
"Everyday above the ground is a good one."

I guess I truly know what that means now.

http://img186.imageshack.us/img186/2365/irongootyesdt8.png
This is how things should look at the end of every session eh? I just went through the sickest heater of my life. I was playing a bunch of drunk retards and man did i hit hands. I flopped sets in reraised pots, caught flushes and just bulldozed completely. It litteraly felt as if people where coming up to me, bowing and humbly giving me all their money. Jesus probably do love me.
My pokertracker crashed about 2 min ago so I have no idea at what bb/100 i was running but I ended up about +8k over maybe 2k hands. Some dude even accused me of cheating because "nobody can be THAT lucky"
lol
Once again, my bulldozing just barely made up for my losses on 5/10 and this just enforces a though thats been lingering in my mind for a couple of days. I have decided I will not leave 3/6 for a good amount of time. Im going back to school and wont have time to play as much so I really need a steady income. 8 tabling 3/6 I can easily make as much as i made playing 5/10, and without the ridicilous swings. I just wanna grind up a huge roll to buy myself an appartment +invest in stock n shit.
Oh, and im too lazy to edit out my screenname on the print screen. w/e, dont tell anyone.

| | Running good again by sTrAtO, August 10
In the last 3 days I've made around $750 in tournaments and cash games.
-On wednesday, I reached a Final table at Titan in a $15+$1.50 freezeout and finished in 3rd for $297 .
-And yesterday I reached two. One FT was in a $10+$1 freezeout at titan where I ended in 4th for $178 . And at Pokerstars I got $200 for finishing in 7th in a $5.50 tourney.
Today I got very tired from school and didn't feel like sitting there 5hours to play a tourney, so I went to play a short cash session. I've finally understand a little bit more about Pokertracker thx to my friend Artanis. So here are the pics:

Aleksei explained to me about the PT stats: 17/8/.8 etc etc a long time ago but I couldn't use PT back then so I forgot about them. Would anyone of you please give me a quick explanation about those stats? VPP, preflop raise etc? Thanks.
So my BR now is about to hit the $3K mark and I still play NL25 because I don't feel comfortable playing in higher stakes yet due to most of my BR was built by MTTs winnings, which is what I do best and play more.

| | Any advice? by DarkMigore, August 10
Pre-Flop Tendency: TIGHT - The Poker-Edge software automatically color codes tight players in RED for easy identification.
Player Type : You are a RedFish (Aggressive/Passive). Your passive PostFlop play makes you a weak player. The Poker-Edge software shows you the Red Fish by placing an icon next to their name at the table!
Strengths: You are selective with your starting hands, giving you an edge over looser players. You are aggressive Preflop, which makes you better than a GreenFish.
Weaknesses: You are passive PostFlop. You rarely bet your winning hands for value or protect your made hands, giving other players an easy chance to catch up.
Best Advice: Play more aggressively PostFlop. Bet or raise good hands instead of calling, and fold your weak hands. Bluff more often.
--------------
Any more thoughts are wlecome.

| | 1st day on NoIQ by Cro)Deadman, August 10
Well yesterday I've moved from Stars to NoIQ/Titan and I've been playing a bit today,as any domain it has its ups and downs, cashing out is way easier,I managed to get great rakeback (40%) and the competition is soft.
But!The tables arent resizable, serius lack of tables at NL4 (well this is a problem for me on Stars aswell...)
So anyways ran better then on stars basically same amount of cash for 1/2 of the hands I usually play on Stars.
Good thing is since I wanna keep on Stars a friend that owed me some money returned it to me cuz I said I need it for grinding,so I'll be playing two domains now.
So...Day one went...

I've wanted to start an LP.net blog for a while, but didn't do it until now because i didn't play serious enough.
So yeah, about my fairly (so far, i hope) uninteresting poker career;
I started this January, after Frozenarbiter had given me 50$ to start me off. I really sucked back then(
example ) and didn't play much at all (7k hands in 6 months), i also loaned quite a large portion of my bankroll to my friends and went broke in mid June.
Then i tried the LP/Titanpoker 50$ deal.
Having been coached some by FA, things went okay. Problem is, i only played ~100 hand/day so i was stuck on NL2 for 50 days.
Two weeks ago i had enough money to move up to NL4. Playing ~1k hands/day i now have a bankroll of 180$ and will move up to NL10 when i have 200$.

Hi Friends, Relatives, Colleagues, Poker Players, Poker Blog Addicts, Blog Addicts, Random Google Search Go'ers Entering 'Greatest Person Born in 1982', Ex-Girlfriends, Current Girlfriends (just kidding honey), and Nala.Dog-
Welcome. I'm kicking off this a little early...
The original intent of creating a blog, was to provide real-time updates to my investors for the upcoming World Championship of Online Poker on pokerstars. I have chosen to invest 50% in myself, and be backed 50%. This allows me to A) Make my girlfriend think I'm saving for a ring and house, and B) Make me think that I actually have friends. Just kidding, I do have friends. At least that's what my stuffed animal 'Lobster' tells me.
I digress.
So anyway, yeah, since this is my first blog, I guess I should do the intro thing for those who are not familiar with myself. First, please excuse my spelling and grammar people, for some reason they put me in the 'slow' reading group in 2nd grade. I never recovered emotionally.
I was born in West Hartford, CT. Went to the University of Maryland for college. Started playing poker in 2002 by playing dealer's choice in the basement of our fraternity house after watching the legend Robert Varkonyi take down the WSOP ME that year. Took up online in '03. Eventually graduated from UMD in '04, and have been working in the accounting/financial consulting field for three years now. Pretty standard line.
So yeah; big learning curve to start, yada yada, I'm a winning player now. Neat. I play mainly on Stars, handle is 'jayluf'. You'll notice my nice picture on Stars if you ever rail me. That picture has caused me more emotional distress than when I got rejected from Jessica Trayer, that elementary school chick that was everyone's first kiss. Nice. I had to resort to my next door neighbor who may or may not have had 12 toes. Still unconfirmed. Anyway, this picture. I have been called everything from 'baldy', to 'terrorist' to a 'homosexual cheerleader'. You get the idea. At first I pleaded with Stars to allow me to change the picture. But now, I think its as much a part of me as my 1.5 inch deep belly button (seriously).
So, I think that's about it for now. This blog will have something for everyone. A lot of poker for sure. A lot of reasons for my friends, I mean lobster, to come 'jayluf' bash, and also probably a reason for my parents to discontinue all contact with me.
Thanks for reading,
jayluf

| | Success ! by PplusAD, August 10
Okay it seems that i finally am where i wanted to be long time ago
I dindt play that well today and i made several big mistakes
yet i am up for 32 $ in just 1h and 20 minutes ...
my last 2h 40 minutes of Poker made me + 101 $ !!!
I know the 38 $ /h that i achieved with my last 18 SNGs played is also due to running better than average !
but a regular part time Job here in germany would give me 12$ and hour which is 1/3 of what i make when running good at Poker ...
So i think 12$/h should be achiveable even if i am not running too good.

Well, I decided to make a LP blog to give me the opportunity to post some stats. I've been running pretty decent at NL5 and NL10 recently, playing ultra nitty in NL5 FR and taking stabs at NL10 6max playing LAG. I enjoy the latter far better, but I want to see what's best for my BR.

Currently, my BR is at $270. What would you advise, NL5 or NL10?

| | Hoooooot session + Shot at 400NL by wobbly_au, August 10
So I had this ultra hot session I normally only have 46% Pots won at showdown, but tonight was 59%!!!
Anyways up like $1750 while 3tabling 400NL and 9 tabling 200NL. 400NL seems similar to 200NL but with more 3betting and LAG opponents which are quite tough for me to beat atm.. but thats probably coz I am playing scared money.
During current Hold'em session you were dealt 2911 hands and saw flop:
- 151 out of 386 times while in big blind (39%)
- 93 out of 387 times while in small blind (24%)
- 197 out of 2138 times in other positions (9%)
- a total of 441 out of 2911 (15%)
Pots won at showdown - 51 of 86 (59%)
Pots won without showdown - 350
in other news.. almost reach my next milestone SUPERNOVA.
8397vpp to go!!

hi fanz,
tomorow i turn 19(11th august)and i go drink with firends and stuff etc standard shit...that wasnt my main intention...
ok after i came back from vienna3 weeks ago i busted 3/4th of my bankroll when i had a very good roll for nl100. and now iam playing nl 50. my question is after crushing all limits up to nl 100 if its better to use an aggresive brm?coz if i only use like 16 instead of 20 iam up faster coz i feel rly comfortable n stuff. i used it when i had 16 bi for nl 50 and now ive my 20 for my standard brm...i think i give it a try again when iam at 1600.
ok cu guys!

| | . . . I really hate noobs right about now by hubmaster, August 10
For those who don't know me, I've been playing PS for about 6 months now, got PT about 2 months ago. With a little bit of Syntax's advice, I was able to roll my bankroll to a max of $250 (It's not much, but I was happy with it) however, I can't really play as often as i'd like cuz my dad thinks that poker will ruin my life.
Anyway, getting to the point, I underestimated the power of a noob miniraise. I always end up losing in the end to a miniraise. I've ended up dropping about $110 on bad hands. Almost all of that is from when I lose 1 pair. I have trouble extracting much value from hands that I do win. I swear, it's almost as if they know that I have KK/AA when everybody limps and I raise that shit from the button, or they know when I have the nuts. They all insta-fold. Frustration, frustration. At any rate, I'm going to have to drop down to .01/.02. Whoever invented the miniraise should burn in hell. ALL noobs that miniraise should burn in hell too. I know that I'm complaining about dropping $100 when all of you make 100x of what i'm making, but I guess i'm still learning how to play online poker and i'm not really used to this big of a hit. I shouldn't be frustrated cuz shit happens, but i'm still pissed off. Any good reading material is welcome. (I'm mostly venting here cuz I had a few losing hands before I wrote this)
