So I made back like 400 or so today during 1k hands of playing tight and such. Ran about 27/21 or something with a really low AF of 2. I really hate how my AF goes to shit every time I try to be tag. LAG is much easier since you can go apeshit any halfassed TP and go "lol mergin' ranges, teh pwnage" if you happend to valuestack yourself but when I only raise 1/5 hands I feel that I get too weak and such. Pretty gay, especially since there's a decent change that noone noticed that I was a lot tighter.

I made a few bad calls as useall and I really felt that I might've missed some value in some hands. I don't like this and I'll try to get my aggression back even when I play somewhat tight. Any ideas about why the fuck I can't valuebet and bluff as I should when I don't raise J4s utg+1? And I really need to stop coldcalling stuff pf, it's so gay.

I started a session tonight on NL10 tonight for a couple hours, which was filled with tons of bad beats and sick coolers.

Although I managed to lose 1.7 buy-ins I feel as if I've made progress in my game to start playing my best again.

If I ran halfway decent today I would have definately won alot, which gives me alot of hope for my future sessions.

Heres my stats from tonights session;

During current Hold'em session you were dealt 1234 hands and saw flop:

I'm all packed up and ready to go to turning stone. Going with dzoo (james), and talentedtom (tom) and posibly casinocasino (no idea what his real name is). Were going to stay there for 3 nights, Aug 14-17 and I’ll be playing 2 tournaments and might play some cash games. I've never played a live tournament before so this is going to be a new experience for me.

I also bought a xbox 360 with 52 games and 2 controllers so that’s going to be me busy for a while. I also played about 44,000 hands in 1 week, so thats an accomplishment for me, not going to do that anytime soon again because that’s tiring as fuck. For some reason my pokertracker is fucked and it won’t show anything from Wednesday and under, seems to be corrupt for some reason so i had to make a new database. This was what’s left from Thurs-Sun stats:

1,5k hands session midnight with high grade.

stats 18,8/14,8/2,8 won@shdwn 58%

evrything went fine. i could bust quite some shortstacks over my tables (HARRRRRRRRR) , managed to win a nice 240bb pot with a set vs aces and sum1 who folded on turn and other then minor suckouts etc all went great. was about ~2,5 buyins up.

then the 90 seconds of DOOM started.

3 hands happened :

a)i raise 66 pf and get a caller, flop comes 2 suited raggish with a 6. i bet,get raised and shortly after were allin.

b) KK in the sb. raise and a call before me, i 3bet to 4,5x the original raise ,the original raiser folds the caller again calls. flop comes 5J5 rainbow. i bet ,get called, and checkpush irrelevant turn.

(villain is a monkey shortstack who lucked his stack together by various suckouts.i busted him at 2 other tables after which he left both times)

c) got 86s in bb , villain(a okish but sometimes idiotic) raises , 1 caller and i call cause as said villain is capable of totally senseless spew moves. i flop the flush,bet out and villain instashoves other guy folds.i snapcall.



results:

a) hes on a flushdraw and hits the river. 220bbpot
b) he had 65o and i lose. 260bb pot.
c) he has a set and boats up on the turn. 250bbpot

evrything in under 90 secs. im stunned,pissed and instantly quit.


weed helps me to stay calm. love herb. healing of the nation. was kinda fun writing that but i bet its very boring to read. so dont do it.

so i have a fucking awful sunburn. like as bad as they get. i put on some old as aloe vera shit and i think im having an alergic reaction. im getting the worst sharp shooting pains. the sunburn wasnt shit till this started happening.

so how to fix it?

im getting really fucking smashed. just me and a 1.75 liter of bacardi. really this shit is driving me insane. its worse than when i broke my hand. its all over too.

I've been running okay recently - nothing great or really awful, just okay. I'm back at 200nl - had to cash out more than expected for the move out West, and also decided to adopt stricter BR guidelines. Anyway, some hands from today:

Anyway, in other stuff, I moved to Eugene, OR. Apparently poker is legal here and there are some cardrooms in town that Yomer has been telling me about which I'll probably check out later this week.

Oh, and Wesley Crusher totally talked to me on PS last night. Not really that much of a brag since I fucking hated his character on TNG, but I still think it's cool just because he's such a huge nerd. I think he used to be sponsored by PS but isn't anymore? Anyway, wilwheaton.net is supreme nerdyness and hilarity if you haven't already seen it and care.

hellllooooo everyone
tried some nl5 today at 9 tables and broke even started out bad and lost a buy in with a set of kings versus a straight but so is life. I feel i need to pay attention more at what is going on at the table. Will update tomorrow after another session (hopefully longer) at nl5. Been a little busy lately with counter-strike practice with cal playoffs coming up(cal-im team shootnrun if anyone pays attention~)

I've finally decided to cash out my "first" winnings at online poker after 1 1/2 years of playing lololol
I think what I need right now is not to move up immediately, but to learn to appreciate what I've accomplished for myself after all that time of playing,toiling, stressing over bad runs etc. So I've decided to save the 1100usd in the bank for whatever purpose I may need it for. I think whatever happens now after this, I really won't care about whether I move up quickly or not, or if ftp is really rigged or what, all I care is that I've built something through hard work and a determined mindset, and finally, finally saw it's fruition - something I don't think most people have done or appreciated their entire lives. Now I'm AGAIN back at 25nl, have opened up my game a little without caring much about the money or moving up, and I'm REALLY starting to play poker with a smart and aggressive style, something I have never, ever tried before - plus itssssss ssssssssoooooo fun now lol

now i started my first session, won 2bi playing more aggressively, and stopped.

Today started out just swingy then I actually got on the track and started to make some profit and I everything was going good then at some point I just realized I actually STOPED hitting hands. I mean I basically missed every AK/PP/cards I played. EVERY fuckin goddamn thing I've played missed. And while I was wondering how da fuck is this possible to miss everyfuckin thing I realized that almost all my winnings are gone. so I stoped playin with a 1k profit. So fuckin weired. I've never been cold decked like that in my whole life. I mean I had times wheree I kept getting set over setted/flush over flushed. KK to AA but I have NEVER EVER had a session where I would loose basically 4buy-ins at really small pots!

Started the day off with some cashgames at NL10 but got sick of how fucking horrible I'm running so I decided to join some donkaments.

Had a nice long tournament day, played in a few $4 180 man sit n go's and managed to place 5th in one, and busted in all the others just short of the money.

During the middle of the tournaments I joined a $5 tournament that was running on stars and got really deep. I ended up getting wrapped up with one of the other chipleaders in a massive pot, with my AA vs his KT, and well..I'll let the HH do the talk.

After this I was still fairly alive with 10x bb, when I picked up AQos in the SB. An UTG shorty shoves in, and I was 99% sure I had him beat so I called, only to see the big blind make the call behind me with KK. All was fine on an ace high flop, I thought..Turn K sent me packing to the big blinds pocket cowboys to take me out of the tournament to his two outer.

When it was all said and done, I finished 22/10xx, for $25. What a waste of 6 hours.
I've never felt so diminished as a poker player, this was literally the most frustrating day of my poker career.

Fuck this game, it fucking sucks.

So I'm out with a group of friends for dinner/drinks in DC over the weekend. Preseason football is in full gear apparently... Now I am a huge pro and college fan. I won't miss any terps or patriot games. But I can honestly careless about preseason games.

So here we are out in in cleveland park, enjoying a nice rooftop meal, and the redskins preseason game is on just about every tv. OK. I mean, typically I couldn't careless about this. There's no Red Sox-Yankee game, no X-Games event with a dude falling 200 feet down a vert ramp, and the new episode of 'Scott Baio is 45 and Single' doesn't come on for a few more days. So normally, I'm okay with the game being on TV here. But for some reason, Washington Redskins fans are unable to be unemotional for an unimportant game. People were screaming and yelping at the TV everytime a big play happened. This is just nuts people. I'm sure these same people would go crazy over watching the redskins players playing an intense game of Wii Bowling, or maybe even discovering what their fortune said inside a chinese fortune cookie.

I mean I love living here in DC, don't get me wrong. But if you're going to get this psyched up for your teams first preseason football game following what, several seasons without a playoff appearance, then honestly you might as well start planning the tailgate for the July 4, 2008 Nathan's Hot Dog Eating contest right now.

"Sick Life"

Pretty much sums up my last two months^^^. Only played like 20k hands in July because I went on a sick vacation to Alaska for about 1/3 of the month. I know when you first hear Alaska it doesn't seem like the coolest place in the world but it was unexpectedly nice. I'll try to post pics in my next post.

So for this month, I've already got in 20k hands and I'm shooting for 40k. I feel like table selection, only focusing on 4-6 tables, and controlling my tilt has been key to my success. Luckboxing tournaments for 2k helps as well lol. Bankroll is now at almost 17k and I'm probably going to move up to 2/4 next month permanently.

ya. and again a rant about those freaking fuckers.

i have 2 probs with them:

1) They ALWAYS suckout. checkpush midpair for 40bb against my aces? usually they will hit 2 pair oder some nice running sraight. seriously i had sessions where i lost over 90%(!) of the allin situations vs 50bb- stacks. and ofc i entered evry single one as fav.

2) they pust me on mad crazy monkey tilt. when i lose to a obv totally retarded fucktard again and again (QQ< K8o pf, after that AK tptpk < turned set, after that AA < AQ pf allin ... ) i cant stay calm. usually im a peaceful guy. chill alot we. standart beats(iof not in MASSES) np. but these freakin idiots piss me of so hard i really want to smash their head against a wall.

dunnmo how to handle that. dunno how to stay calm with those fuckers.



reason for this is ofc another 20 minutes of bullshit. 1khand session evrything standart. last 20 minutes i lose evrysingle pot over 20bb. most of them to 20-50bb stacks. ev rysingle one was a suckout or a cooler(idiot calls my rr for 1/4 stack with 22 and hits ofc)

+2 buyins became -2 in 20 minutes and now im pissed.



other then that:
had some decent sessions last week. running at 9,5ptbb/100 over the last 12k. good to see that sometimes the cards dont give the idiots free money

convinced girlffuckfriend to some nice assfuckery. girlassfuckscore up to 3! high five!


my PT is running again but database i lost. but still have 400mb worth of HH's somewhere.

Dunno what happened really but I finally got pokertracker to work again. Havent played a whole lot since my pwnage session but Im doing well on 3/6 so far and I stand firm in my decision to only grind 3/6 for a couple of months.

I played all the big sundays yesterday, got like 3 hours deep in the million when i reshoved on some dude with A9s he snapped with KK and byebye. Tournaments are such a waste of time, and yet i insist to play in them T_T. Im probably going to play in most of the wcoop evens though since they are so baller. I dont have enough money on stars but Im planning on grinding a donkament roll there playing 1/2 6-max and hu for funaments. I might even make a video or something, we will see.

Im also kinda thinking of starting to give private lessons. I just havent decided if I really want to, what price i should set and if I will have time to do it at all. I will have to meditate on that.


Here are my august results, kinda disapointing. If i had only learned to stay away from 5/10 and not playing like a retard it would have been a good month.

So I had one of those session when nothing works and ended up down like 4bi in 1.3k hands. Two dudes did really, really amazing calldowns vs me and gratz to them. One of those "all my range except AK is far ahead"-things so I pretty much figured that they would fold 2nd pair no kicker in a reraised pott to a 2nd barrel but no luck there. I also had some pretty gay suckouts happening to me but whatever, it happends. Overall I think I played most big pots ok (set over set, the bluffs and A9s allin vs ATo pf whom I had never 4-bet before). Made som bad calls and got into some awkward situations (had the other dude on a fd, an A hit river and I valuebet only the get a call from fd with an A). Not that bad of a session overall, as far as my play goes.

The thing is that I feel that I should probably tighten up a bit since I'll soon get a new computer and then I can start playing more tables and I need to get used to a somewhat tighter range before that, I also figured that this will lower my varaiance a bit.

I'll probably still abuse the shit outta the button but maybe tighten up UTG and UTG+1 to a somewhat resonable range and think more about the button when I'm in the CO.

I've played a shitload of hands the last few days but I havn't got any good results, I was up like 4 or 5 bi and after this session I'm basicly +/- 0 over the last maybe 7 or 8k hands. I don't like it but I tend to have a lot of rushes and cold streaks so I guess I'm getting used to it. As long as I'm making money every month I should be happy and even though it feels a tiny bit annoying that I don't make more, especially after my try at NL400, I guess I should remmember how blessed I am to make as much as I do.

I also gave my sister 4k SEK, or about 600 USD, for her birthday which I feel really good about since she's been supportive of my pokerplaying and helped me out with some other things this summer.

Overall I'm up just over 10k (13.5 with cashback) since the beginning of june and I pretty much hope to get past 15k or so. Not what I had hoped for in the beginning of the summer, but decent enough for a poor student.
