This morning I decided to move up to NL25 again, and hopefully run a little better than last time. Well, I did just that. I started the day on a heater during my first 1,000 hands winning 4~5 BI, and maintained winning when the heater was over.
I played my A game today, and was feeling extremely comfortable back at NL25. The downswing/ice cold run I was on actually helped me the more I think about it, as I managed to get just about all the leaks out of my game.
I'll be looking forward to playing another week or two at NL25 until I move up to NL50 to stay, which I couldn't be any happier about.
Heres my stats from todays session;
During current Hold'em session you were dealt 4611 hands and saw flop:
- 317 out of 618 times while in big blind (51%)
- 113 out of 620 times while in small blind (18%)
- 339 out of 3373 times in other positions (10%)
- a total of 769 out of 4611 (16%)
Pots won at showdown - 113 of 182 (62%)
Pots won without showdown - 392
My mistakes from todays session;
vs $strust84$ - He had reraised me light in position the orbit before and I folded QK, this time I called him, and couldn't manage to drop my QK. This was one of my two mistakes from todays session.
vs ozyman - ozy opens and i call w/ QKs getting 3/1. I was betting the hand to protect vs any straight draws and get value from any Jack, and couldn't find a fold for the price I got on the river. QK really cost me today, it sucks, I need to drop it from my game, atleast OOP.
vs TeddyKGB90 - This hand was about the equivilant of a slowroll. I limp my sooted connector expecting to get in without a raise, which goes fine. Flop the stones, and have teddy flat my 90% psb with a gutterball and he hits on the turn. To make matters worse, he hit in runs me while I had position on him and almost definately would have won my money back from him.
vs True Raider / Heraclio - This was by far my best hand today. I flop gin and have the EP better on TPTK, with a donk behind me that calls to hit a backdoor flush. Obv since I was running great he hits the backdoor flush draw, and AK shoves to protect vs the open ender + two flush draws on board. If thats not good enough, the guy on the backdoor flush calls his stack drawing dead as well. Weeeeeee~
vs Niumoney - I call his raise oop with 99 and flop a set. I check raise the flop to get value from any AK continuation bets and to build the pot vs any overpair. It works and I hang his aces. Although when the river came out, I really felt like he must of had a set, luckily the king didn't help him and I scooped the pot though.
vs Paschano1 - I open raise 99 in the shorthanded game and get called IP by a player I was giving some respect to. Standard continuation bet w/ my boat on the flop and he calls. Turn puts a potential fullhouse on board with me having quads (hehehe), I bet it out again like any A would do here and he minreraises with his newfound flush draw. I call to trap and instacheck river and watch him shove into my quads. What a pretty site this was.
vs Babar1 - limp in my pocket pair and didn't really expect him to have an ace here so I check the flop. He donks it on the flop and turn, and I check raise the turn trying to make it look like im on a low pocket pair playing back at him, not believing he has the ace. Unfortunately for him, he did have the ace and I take a nice 2/3 stack from him.
vs Ruthores - One of the only coolers I had to face today, I was happy when I saw the hands face up for the first two seconds, then realized he straightened out on me and took this away, sick life.
vs Canafrican - Don't even ask me what this guy was thinking, this is the beauty of NL25, every once in a while we get one of these guys throwing money at us. Weeeeeeeee~
vs Serif13 - A few hands before this serif called my JJ preflop with K6s and minreraised me on the flop. He caught a pair on the turn and bet out 40% pot and checked river behind me. Knowing this, I assumed he was pretty maniacle at the table without a strong strategy backing his play. When he flats me on the flop here, I figure he would have reraised with the 9 after his play before, so hes either on a draw or a float. The turn he minreraises, which really screams set at me, but knowing my opponent from the past hand I can make the call, and getting such great odds on the river its an instacall (although I would have called him for stacks here for sure).
vs Tonny/Flash - This was a nice rush I had this afternoon, back to back aces at the same table. Obv I play it differently each hand to get paid & it works beautifully.
vs Heikeangel - standard BB vs SB hand, he plays back at me on the flop which definately lets me know he has an ace, but I couldn't see him limping an ace stronger than A9, so I flat his reraise. He lays me extremely great odds on the turn, fearing he had flopped top and bottom pair, or middle and bottom pair I just flat, expecting to call a sizable bet on the river. Then Yikes, I smash two pair and get roughly 80% of his stack on the hand.
This was definately my most enjoyable poker session in a long, long time. Hopefully a good sign of things to come, and has stabalized my bankroll to stay at NL25 for my future sessions.
I finished the day doubling my bankroll, playing tight, solid, 15-17% poker all day.
So i wanna apologize for my ultra late decision about who won my competition, i dont really have a good explanation for it but its vacation. Anyway osloandy came up with some great watches imo, pm me ur stars or full tilt id and ill ship that 50 bucks asap. So im almost sure that i'll buy a Breitling Windrider Cockpit, i like it - less is more! Anyway now i gotta decide wich "background"-color i want and i like them all as much so why not let you help me out a bit.
In my constant quest to improve my poker game I’ve been gravedigging, going through ancient threads to find golden posts. I discovered thorladens advice. Such beautifully deep hand analysis, he is one of the few who seems to enjoy discussing the game.
remember that one who i asked for text advice off, well she was at party tonight and she told her bet friend she wants to jump me - shes pretty hammered but ill allow it for this one time YUP YUP YUP YUPPPPPPPPPPP
only problem is im getting cock blocked by my flatmate who despite telling to me to find another girl to fuck obviously got mad jealous when she saw us together and she kept interupting and now im stuck in the middle of a sweet fuckin dilema
we all going into the city in a couple of hours to continue drinking. Lets pull the fuckin stops out

Kinda happy, kinda sad at the same time. I've been working on my tournament game a lot lately and I really thought this may have been my first 1000+ person win, but not today.
Tonights session was hell, like usual. I played 1700 hands of break even poker due to the fact that everytime I doubled up, I got coolered.
I finished down 1.5 BI - bringing my roll to an even $300. Looks like I'll be stuck on NL10 for the rest of the weekend unless I can heat up tomorrow, we'll see.
Its been really frustrated working my way back up the limits this time. Pokerstars just won't let me run well, day after day, its getting so sick.
I'll be at NL25 soon, and when that day comes, it will be so sweet.
Heres my stats from todays session;

So I usually always play 9 tables, it gets pretty crazy...usually don't have a lot of time to think and I have to rely on my PAHUD stats to read the non regulars. Thought it would be a good idea to move down to 6 and it has...made about $200 over a 1k hands playing 6 tables. Also i'm still trying to get the whole rakeback issue settled...I received this message from rakebrain earlier:
Hello There,
Thanks for your Email.
Its seems that you didn't successfully managed to create a RakeBrain account while registering, though you are there in the Ultimate Bet stats but nowhere in our database. I had forwarded your Email to our support manager and 'll let you know if we can fix this.
However, your rake at Ultimate Bet so far for Aug shows $ 900,98.
Sincerely,

Anyways...I move back to Tallahassee on Wednesday so i'll be starting 100NL when I get there. Cheers.
i started this day at 1 PM, cause yesterday i couldn't sleep and i watched 'The 70s show' till 4 AM, done weight lifing for ~1h, 1,5h of jogging, 2nd day of Weider's six. soon i'm going out so no time for poker, and of course no studing either, i may get back a little drunk, so maybe it will be the best not playing tonight
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/253133 - this is lol, i make sometimes sooo stupid things i saw 36/26/5 for 10 hands, and i thought: "do it" lol, this was just after i sat to poker this night (2AM) and played till 5AM
Well, I need $4500 to pay for upper jaw surgery, my parents can't afford that shit, so it's been a motivational factor for me to finally take poker seriously. I made a promise to myself to play 3k hands every day for at least 1 month, starting with $650 at 25nl. That equates to about 3.5 hours of play every day. After roughly 11k hands and a really really fucking shit run, I am down 6 buyins. Go figure FTP, every time I've played seriously on that software I've just run badly.
