Nice by Critterer, November 13

Started realllly slow, nothing happened for the first 1k hands of my session at all. Just kept grinding then losing AIPF as huge favourite/flip. Then everything kicked off and my variance went wild and luckily i ended up +4 buyins so thats great result.

I'm just too lazy... by Gawuss, November 13

omg, why am I so lazy ? I'm too lazy to play poker, I'm too lazy to write a new entry here, etc. GOD I must play more poker finally ! I was going to play at least 1k hands/day this month but after my ps3 arrived I haven't played at all (nah, maybe like 500 hands but that's like nothing). I have to find a way to motivate myself to play more, and to stop being THAT lazy ! Any suggestions ?

So I promised I would post details from my conversation with psychologist. I'm bored right now so I decided to write something here.

So basically during this conversation I managed to tell him 3 reasons of me being pissed/upset/screaming/swearing. Here they are:

Being in arrears (dunno if it's right sentence) -> self irritation (here too, I dunno if I wrote it correctly) + pretext = explosion (anger "discharge" )

Dissagreement with defeat -> profit avidity + risk of losing my winnings = agression

Other people's stupid mistakes -> high adrenaline level + disappointment = frustration = anger

So I asked him what should I do to "discharge" my anger. Should I buy myself some training sack to beat its ass (lol)? He told me that if I bought something like this, only to discharge my anger after losing at poker, I wouldn't learn not to get angry and I still couldn't control my emotions. He also told me that the age of 16 - 18 is the time of learning to control my emotions and time of 'improving' my brain.
Basically I'm an addict (it's a 3rd of 4 addiction steps, lol) and there are 2 options - I stop playing poker (he told me he knew I wouldn't choose this one ) OR I control the time I spend playing (i.e. 2 hours of poker 4 times per week MAX. - it could be less, but NEVER more) + he suggested me to start reading more books/focusing more at school on every lesson just to build up my brain (more neural connections), what is going to help me to learn how to control my emotions and be mentally strong.

He told me to read some book for teenagers. I fell asleep while reading it for the first time lol and haven't read more since then but I think it's quite interesting and I will read it for sure (it's Sean Covey's book, called "7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens" )
I still don't focus at school on every lesson but I'm testing a new option - I'm trying to stop thinking about money as money but as just BBs or 'points', which I play poker with.

I don't have anything interesting to write about how am I doing at poker this month and how I did last one, except that my cousin won a seat in EPT Prague I'd love to go there with him but they wouldn't let me in the casino lol.

Ok, so that's all today. I gotta start fighting with my laziness

good luck to everyone

Gawuss

BAD NIGHT by philrocks123, November 13

I will not be playing poker tonight so I'll talk a bit about the night after my casino tourney cash.Me and some friends went to direleifs house for a cash game. Here are some of the memorable hands......

First hand that tilts me is my friend slowrolling a rivered flush to beat my nut straight. Couldnt recover.

In another hand against the same opponent the game is omaha hi lo. I flop the nut flush and there is no low draw. I check the flop and Justin checks behind me. Turn brings a non threatening 5 so i decide to bet,Justin calls and the river pairs the board.

At this point I am not putting him on a runner runner full house. I decide to bet and he immediatly reraises me. I call and Justin turns over pocket fives for the runner runner boat.

In another high low hand I end up making a nut flush on the river with no low possible and no board pair. It's a big pot so I decide to put the rest of my chips in. My opponent calls to which I declare...NUT FLUSH....My opponent smiles and says......STRAIGHT FLUSH.

Guess it just wasn't my night.

Doomswitches, cookie baskets, and supernovas by KeanuReaver, November 13

oh my!

So I started this month by winning a PCA sat from the step system, 12k value to begin the month, I was expecting this to be my most profitable month ever. Nope. After my mom borrowed 6k I proceeded to drop 15 buyins at NL600 (netloss: 15k) with a mix of bad luck and bad play (isn't it always?).

But I had a plan! Not too long ago I ordered a cookie basket from the fpp store for shits and giggles. Well, it got here today and I put it right in front of my monitor to play a session. +5 buyins baby. Doomswitch melts under the power of the cookie basket.

Also managed to achieve supernova today as well. that means lots of cookie baskets in my future.

rappelz free mmo by Ibsu Bai Hui, November 13

http://rappelz.gpotato.com/

by chance i came across rappelz which is produced by the same people who made flyff and like 6 other games.

first impressions:

1. 1.2 gig install with another gig of patching
2. graphics are similar to those in 2moons, more special effects but less detail (2moons has grass flowing all over the place for example).
3. runs well on low graphic settings on my laptop
4. maps are bigger + less linear/more interesting than those in 2moons (i'm guessing...only seen the newbie area so far

5. you choose 1 of 3 races, 'good', 'neutal' or 'evil. each race has male+female character with 6 faces, 2 hair colours and 3 hairstyles to choose from.
6. each race allows you to join 1 of 3 professions: a fighter, a summoner and a magic-user.
7. for example, 'good' race fighter is paladin style, 'evil' race fighter is assassin style.
8. at lv 50 you then specialise in 1 of 2 subprofessions. 'good' magic-user (cleric) will become high priest (more buffs+heals) or bishop (offensive holy magic).

here is an OUTDATED list of skills
http://rappelz.mmosite.com/skills/as_3_2.shtml

9. other features: all characters can summon a mount OR a creature to assist them in battle. these level up with you and have their own skills and evolution levels. the 'summoner' classes focus on buffing their creatures and can also use 2 creatures at once, so are very powerful in lategame when their summons are more reliable.

10. PK. normal mmo pk, you can kill in non-safe-zones but after a few kills get massive penalties to your stats until you kill npcs for ages to get your stats back. there is a 'hardcore pk' server but the system is so insanely fucking stupid i wont go into detail but basically it ONLY detracts from the pk experience, and does so MASSIVELY.

summary:

yes this looks very funky =) the graphics are attractive, except when you zoom out a little the characters lose their clarity (but up close they're very nice). it had a MASSIVE patch this year to help fix balance issues.

reading the forums, it's kinda disheartening to hear people say that their class sucks (pk or pve) and that they simply dont use/advance a lot of skills because they are 'useless skills'.

i really wanted to make a 'good' race 'holy warrior' -> 'divine solider' (basically offensive paladin route) but unfortunately i just dont find the female customisation for that race attractive. the LAST thing i wanted to play was a 'nature magic' neutral race, but the chick is just so damn fine i had no choice =) i considered making a fighter but they seem to suck at pk. i HATE HATE druid classes (don't ask me why), and the 3rd option was the summoner (i hate summoner classes too). i'm still deciding what to pick but i might just settle with the summoner - apparently possibly the best class for pk, but long time before it becomes any good.

lastly, well i'm still contemplating the hardcore pk server. i'll go back and read more of the forum. but unfortunately i'm 99% sure it's worthless

FIRST CASINO CASH!!!!!!!!(IN TOURNEY) by philrocks123, November 12

A few days had passed and It was back to casino ABS for the thursday $55 dollar buyin tournament.Direleif joined me once again.I took my seat at the table thinking it would be my typical bustout with the best hand but tonight was different....WHY YOU ASK????.....I HAD BUDWEISER..THATS WHY!!!!

Everyone starts the tournament with 5k in chips and after the first uneventful hour i was stuck with my original 5k stack, the second hour brought memorable hands and a definitive increase in my chipstack, lets take a look at a couple of hands! in the most memorable hand of the second hour i had pocket 4's and called a raise from an early position player who was sitting with around 4k, flop comes down A 4 3 and he quickly moves all in, I instacall and he shows A 5 turn bricks and the river is a 4 giving me QUAD 4's. then i win a coinflip all in where I am holding AK against my opponents QQ.

I finish the second break sitting at about 15 thousand chips.Everything continued to go well until there were 2 tables left.I had worked my stack up to be the huge chipleader with about 50 thousand in chips, but then after just 2 hands i was down to 9 thousand in chips. After stealing my way back to 15k it is announced that there will be a break and then we will start the final table 11 handed with 6 paid.

Direleif also joined me at his first casino final table sitting with about 10k in chips and after a little while we both managed to make the money.shortly after direleif and another player were eliminated in 5th and 6th place which meant one thing to me. MORE MONEY!!!! To make a long story short i basically survived the bingo blinds to eventually finish in second place and take home fivr hundred and eighty five dollars for my efforts. I can only hope that there will be many more live cashes to come.

PROOF of the 1000% increase by direleif, November 12

So yesterday I started with $1, ended up with $11.15 after 211 hands. (1000% increase?)

To prove it, here you go:

http://i236.photobucket.com/albums/ff31/sputgop/11buckspto.jpg

I'd put a graph, but I am not sure how to do that yet.

Penny table hi/lo players are typically pretty passive and very bad. For example, check out this premium poker playing:

(Pot is $0.34)
*** FLOP *** [4h Td Kd]
ctoastyme: bets $0.02
TAN3sui: folds
ExitZero: folds
HERO: raises $0.04 to $0.06
ctoastyme: calls $0.04
*** TURN *** [4h Td Kd] 7c
ctoastyme: bets $0.02

First of all, TWO PEOPLE fold to the 2 cent bet in a 34 cent pot? 17:1 on your money?? WOW POT ODDS.

THEN, the guy makes ANOTHER continuation bet of 2 cents? terrible playing. I ended up winning the pot with a set. And thats just one example of the bad playing, believe me there was a lot more.

The first few hands were a bit aggravating. I had to fold many decent hands just because of how little 50 BB is to play with. In other words, I couldnt draw to less than absolute premium hands. For example:

Dealt to HERO [2s Qs As 7s]
*** FLOP *** [Ac 8c Ah] ($0.20 pot, 5 players)
HERO: checks
Clemens22: checks
stormyeyesC: bets $0.20
bayucca: raises $0.20 to $0.40
Rat214: calls $0.40
HERO: folds

Kind of tight fold, but not really. I was 90% sure I was beat. The winner of the hand:

stormyeyesC: shows [4s Kd Ad Kc] (HI: a full house, Aces full of Kings)

WHATAFOLD!!!

Not that I folded every single time I didnt have the nuts. This hand I was positive I was ahead, even on a scary board:

Dealt to HERO[Kc Ah 4s As]
Aziri: calls $0.02
ExitZero: calls $0.02
Adm111: raises $0.10 to $0.12
HERO: raises $0.30 to $0.42
sajebo1: calls $0.40
Aziri: calls $0.40
ExitZero: folds
Adm111: calls $0.30
*** FLOP *** [Jd Jc Kh]
Adm111: bets $0.02
HERO: calls $0.02
sajebo1: folds <-- (WTF MORE 2 CENT BET FOLDS?!?!
Aziri: folds THE POT WAS OVER A DOLLAR!!!)
*** TURN *** [Jd Jc Kh] 5d
Adm111: bets $0.48
HERO: raises $0.68 to $1.16 and is all-in
Adm111: calls $0.68
*** RIVER *** [Jd Jc Kh 5d] Qs
*** SHOW DOWN ***
Adm111: shows [Qd 4d 4h 2s] (HI: two pair, Queens and Jacks)
HERO: shows [Kc Ah 4s As] (HI: two pair, Aces and Jacks)
HERO collected $3.86 from pot

Nice try, but 2 cent bet on flop then large bet on brick turn doesn't spell big hand to me.

That hand was the SECOND biggest hand of the night for me... BUT BELIEVE IT OR NOT, the biggest hand of the night was RIGHT AFTER it. Adm111 was tilting pretty bad, which I loved, cause he created action. Heres the hand history:

ExitZero: mucks hand
Hero collected $0.11 from side pot
Hero collected $0.11 from side pot
Aziri: mucks hand
Hero collected $5.62 from main pot
Hero collected $5.61 from main pot

Summary
Total pot $12 Main pot $11.23. Side pot $0.22. | Rake $0.55
Board  3cKsQs5c8d
Seat 1: ExitZero mucked JsKdTh8h
Seat 2: Adm111 (button) folded on the Turn
Seat 4: Hero (small blind) showed 2sQdQhAh and won ($11.45) with HI: three of a kind, Queens; LO: 8,5,3,2,A
Seat 6: BladeHandler (big blind) folded before Flop
Seat 7: sajebo1 folded before Flop (didn't bet)
Seat 8: TAN3sui folded before Flop (didn't bet)
Seat 9: Aziri mucked 2d3sJdTs

Thats my big score of the night. A2QQ is a fairly good hand, but that was a monster of a flop. NOTICE WHAT THE OTHER PLAYERS ARE PLAYING. ExitZero pushed all in with a pair of kings and straight draw, Aziri called the all in with pair of threes, same straight draw and 10 high flush draw (slightly better). NOT ONLY did I have the best high hand (set of queens), I was the ONLY one with a low draw. Just for fun, heres the equity odds on that turn:

HERO: 2s Qd Ah Qh 75%
EXITZERO: Js Kd Th 8h 6.9%
AZIRI: Ts 3s Jd 2d 18.1%

3 way all in with 75%. ++++++++EV
Pretty good odds, wouldnt you say? and that is how penny table hi/lo is profitable!

Now I have roughly 550 BBs... which is awesome. That's 11 short buy ins to penny tables. Unless I get hit by 11 bad beat bricks of death.!

i played in a capcom vs snk 2 tourney over the weekend. got 7th out of 17. not too bad since it was my first tourney. my first round was against the winner of last months tourney, and i was SOOOOOOOO close to winning... i hella choked. that would've been sweet if me, a 'nobody', sent the 1 seed into losers first round. oh wells, better luck next time.

also had my first day at my new job: some clothing store. pretty easy.

MY AMAZING WEEK IN POKER by philrocks123, November 12

Hello fellow bloggers,Im new to this whole poker blogging experience and would like to introduce myself.I am known on all the pokersites by my username PHILROCKS123.

Although i lost so much money on POKERSTARS a while back that I ended up blocking myself. Months passed and I started craving online poker again so I figured I would create a new account. I came up with Annete_15 as my new username.... and I must say it was BIG MISTAKE. I am constantly labelled as a poser online and a scam artist, but I think this is just because I dominate my opponents so ferociously, you could even say that I am BETTER than Annete_15..jkjkjk....OR AM I!!!!!!

Part of the reason I decided to get liquidpoker was because my friend has it.You all know him on here as Wilswils,he's the guy who is constantly talking about his variance, bad beats, bankroll management etc...

Another friend who I know that has liquidpoker goes by the username direleif, most likely because whenever he plays against me I have him in dire straits. But we will hear much more about these two DONKS in my future blog entrys.

Let's start with How my week went in poker,no online poker this week as I am waiting for direleif to deposit funds to send me online. But there were some good live game moments this week courtesy of THE GOOD OL CASINO.

Me and Direleif made our way down to CASINO ABS and put on names on $1/$2 no limit hold em cash game list. To my suprise we both got seated immediately at the same table with Direleif sitting directly to my left.

I sit down and the first hand I see is pocket 10's. The UTG player raises to 10 dollars and I flat call. Action folds around to the button who makes it 106 dollars all in.
Now back on the UTG raiser and he tanks, after about 3 minutes of thinking he folds.

Action back on me now and I am sure that the button raiser has a hand like AQ or AK.So i figure it's 50/50 and I feel like gambling so I push my chips in and declare LETS GAMBLE. Sure enough the button raiser turns over AJ offsuit to which the UTG raiser says damnit I folded jacks. Sure enough an ace comes on the flop....BUT SO DOES A 10. Now my stack is sitting at 340 dollars(started with $200).

After I win a couple more pots They decide to move me to a new table. As I sit down at my table I notice 2 young guns controlling the table, one is a dirty french canadian and the other is a baller asian guy, they both seem very arrogant. After watching the french assassin bully the table for awhile I picked up AK in middle position, french young gun is on the button and he has been playing it very agressively. Action comes around to the button after I limp and sure enough he makes it 20 dollars to go.

I just decide to smooth call and see a flop. Flop comes down A A K and I'm trying to contain my excitement.I calm myself down enough to check to the button.French assassin bets out $45 and I smooth call. Turn comes down a queen and i check again, now he checks behind me.

River comes a brick and I decide to bet out $75 because i think it looks a like a steal bet because I checked the turn.French assassin doesn't buy It and he mucks. After a few more hands I decide to cash out $535, up from my buyin of $200.

I would like some feedback on how everyone thinks I played the AK hand where I flopped the full house.I think I couldve played it better so i'd like to hear from everyone.

God I suck by TianYuan, November 12

Why am I so fucking awful at headsup
First HU attempt ended down 900 at .5/1 (2k hands)
Second ended down.. I dunno, I guess 1.1k (400 .5/1, 700 from some guy I just played at 1/2 since I saw him drop 15 buyins to someone I know.. of course, I'm too fucking horrible to win vs him since I'm either a weaktight retard or a retarded callingstation paying off obvious better hands). Total hands like 6.5k or so this time.

I mean fuck, it's not even about the money, I have enough of a roll for it to not REALLY hurt (I dunno how much I have exactly right now, but if I had to guess I'd say between 8.5k and 9k, although I'm gonna have to cashout about 1.5k that's still a fine roll for 1/2), it's just embarassing I guess.

The problem with this session was that I sat down expecting him to be some kind of magical ATM - I mean, I had just obsed him donate 15 buyins (yes, 15 buyins) by doing things like snapcalling shoves with 3rd pair. I don't think I took a single note or paid any attention to how he was playing until like 10-15 minutes in, I was just not at all in the right state of mind to play and was stupid for doing so.

Of course that was because he was on extreme insane tilt vs him, but not vs me. And by the time I understood that I was already stuck a buyin and I'm much too stubborn to quit when down._.

EDIT: Does anyone know if I can move all my 1/2 handhistories to a new database? I have so many .5/1 ones in my current prima one that it's pretty slow so I want to split them up since I only need the 1/2 ones anyway.
