Then later one of the tables emptied and i were left with a new regular who plays arround 24/18-4... quite agressive but definitelly spewy, he was folding preflop everytime, it got ridiculous and i quickly realized this player clearly has no experience whatsoever on heads-up so it was incredibly EV+:
After raised and won the pot, then again, the 3 bet me when i opened button, and i knew this fish realized that he should kick the agression in, but he still sucks so i decided to make a move because he will be unable to realize his real hand strenght, and this hand happened:
I pretty much called preflop only to bluff postflop ont he right board like this one, he took his time to fold so im assuming he did have a semi-decent hand, atleast something like AQ+, probably TT? dunno.
After that the table quickly filled again, and i didnt win as quickly mainly because some fish kept suckint out (std 2 outers) and another big post againast a regular who caught a runner runner low straight where i called him IP with JJ on 2 streets (flatted pf).
So anyway im thinking about my next rally car and i think ill get a peugeot 206xsrally, it has less HP than my neon but its definitelly better prepared for rally and i think its overall faster than the neon even on tarmac (on gravel there is no comparition), plus its a "cup" and there are actual money prizes every race... i actually might race the WRC mexico in this car weeeee :D
So I experimented with a pretty LAG style at the full ring games today. I was playing from like 7-9am which is pretty much a time I've never played in my life, and it was amazing, there were like 0 regs on the tables. Well, that's a lie. But the 3/6 tables just had some of the nittier 5/10 regs and the 2/4 had the nittier 3/6 regs and I think playing this way sent a few of them over the edge.
Would be feeling a lot better about it if I didn't go from +4 to -1bi in my last two revolutions at 5/10 last night
Oh and non-poker related, I finished my senior thesis. I hand it in today and present it tomorrow. It's pretty wild cause it really is like the culmination of my life's efforts scholastically speaking. Final product is like ~120 pages. It's a theory-based prediction on the future of international relations in the advent of computer warfare, pretty scary stuff actually.
I got a couple cake finals to do and then I'm going home for a couple days for the holidays...then its off to PCA! BOO YEAH. I have 4 joke electives next semester so I'm pretty much going to be doing nothing but playing madden poker and slay dope clueless shorties. I pretty much feel graduated, it's kind of scary.
Hopefully I'll catch up with everyone at PCA. Hope you're all well.
Cheers.
Oh, P.S.
I been listening to this weird ass norcal "hyphy" music. Everything I read about hyphy culture is extremely absurd. Apparently being "hyphy" means doing mass drugs and being drunk and dancing like an idiot, and like people are embracing this big time in norcal. I sorta got into it listening to Andre Nickatina and stuff... I think I hate West Coast people extra now.
I played 12k hands today or yesterday or whatever... 2 sessions one 2k the other 10
i feel sick and my head is about to explode, why did i do this? well i got stuck and tried to recover the whole night http://i117.photobucket.com/albums/o59/tiltedfish/Untitled-2.jpg
black line marks the start of second session... check out that free fall.. 0-tilt i swear worst run of my life.
4 days went to shit basically BR back to 10k.. puke
What a good first session back at 3/6. Played well for the most part, several coolers, one questionable call against FastEddie with set vs. TPGK, and a few tough spots. Hands below - any comments appreciated.
such a sick life. basically i went for the poker society £5 rebuy yesterday and got ultra drunk. we played some cash games as well after a few peoplez busted from the tourney. i have no idea what happened. i remember playin a 800BB pot with 69 on 2365Q board (i wasnt drunk yet at this point), tryin to make a hero call but got valuetowned by JJ and then like triple barrelling some A high against TwistedEcho for a 600bb pot. Then we went to some bar and I drank more and then I have no fkin idea what happened. I woke up like 30 mins ago in my friend's room but I have like no idea what's going on. And I missed like the most important tutorial this term. And one of the keys on my keyboard is not there. It's the one with "R". I mean I've got it but I can't attach it back to my keyboard. Plus I'm kinda dying. And tonight my mate is organising like a "go away" party so I'm gonna die for the 2nd time or whatever. My keyboard is pretty fked up, I dunno why. I'm gonna take a shower now, hopefully it will make me kinda sober cause i gotta go to a lecture in 1,5h anddo some shopping later on. Damn my keyboard is pretty fked up.
well since i doubt anyone reads this blog anyways, i figured i have no chance of improvement and since i just went bust on stars and i have no job, i gave myself a month ban. just so i can cool off and just take a break. rednines takes their sweet time sending checks also.
7 day exclusion starts nowby JoeDeertay, December 12
I played 1 session today at 5NL and won 3BI in like 2k hands, but then in true nit fashion I hit a mother fucking wall when I got bored and decided to play again, losing 6 straight fucking buy ins to the 5NL retards who just get cooler after cooler, sukout after suckout.
It all started with AA < KK within my first like 50 hands, when we got it all in on the flop after he might as well have played his hand face up, only for the river to bring a K. I got straight flushed on the river with my nut flush, blah blah blah, then I managed to tilt away the last 3 BI I lost on just stupid shit that I know iis retarded. This is how I went busto the first time at 50NL, and I'm not letting it happen again.
With finals on the horizon and me needing to get like a 100 on each one just to be able to enter my major next year (lol GG NO RE aerospace engineering major), and the fact that if I have another bad session close to this one I might go on lifetilt, I just decided to force myself into a 7 dday break until finals are over next week. I made it official by going into the "Responsible Gaming" option on stars and making them exclude me for a week. Now I can focus on studying and I even have some time for this girl I've been talking to XD.
Anyways, hopefully I don't go through some kind of withdrawal during the break, but I think it will do me a lot of good. I am starting to think that not NEEDING to play everyday to "get your fix" is one of the keys to becoming a winning player in the long run. I already experienced going busto and started recovering, and I know the value of the money I win as more than just some kind of play money because I use it to pay off certain things, so this next step should actually help much more than hurt (although I'm def going to miss playing for a week, but hopefully not so much after this is done =D).
So went down to 5 tables. Much better so far. Had a winning session going earlier till I got sucked out on twice for big pots and then donked a stack pushing AQs preflop.
I realized why I was losing so much - I wasn't playing poker, I was just trying to be a poker bot and nutpeddle. Wasn't analyzing a damn thing, wasn't making reads, wasn't paying very good attention to peoples tendencies. Too hard to do that with so many tables. It was good to multi table like that for a bit to get my overall hand-speed back, as well as to quickly pound the basics back into my head. But now it's time to really PLAY poker, not just make the standard move over and over again.
This amazing idea of "PAYING ATTENTION TO THE TABLE" led me to make this great read and call. Almost laid down on the river, but he'd been acting a maniac for a while and I figured chances were high that I was good. Here's that hand:

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/335279 - the BB always folded to steals and I figured that I'd just get 2 folds if I bet but could possibly make something happen on the flop or entice the BB to try and take it away since he was aggressive and I very very rarely open-limp the button. He took the bait.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/335282 - I knew he was weak but wasn't sure how weak. should I have had the balls to raise on the turn or river?
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/335283 - This was a pretty nice read... noticed that he didn't continuation bet very much but he check-raised a lot... got me thinking that he was the type to Cbet his missed hands and slowplay the ones that hit. His big flop bet on that board was very suspicious to me and I thought I probably had the best hand. Remembered that minraise article and decided to use it here =)
I told myself that I wouldn't look at my cashier until tomorrow night after playing all day... was getting too upset about being down. Hopefully not looking at my exact BR will help to avoid that sinking feeling that comes when you know you're losing. I'll just check how I'm doing in PT and try to focus on playing well instead of making money.
That's all for now. Here's the graph and PT for today (so far... might play more):
I was saddened by what happened today...he came back! but that was shortlived.
I was feeling down so I wrote a short song for you Neilly... also I have no life obv.
Sickest Call... No Justice.by NiagaraPoker, December 12
So last night I was playing 5-5 NL at the Fallsview Casino, playing well and was up about $300.00, when this character sits down in seat 10.(Im in seat 2) It was shorthanded with about 6 of us playing. The guy who sat down seemed not to care about money and had a pocket filled with black chips. Every have the guy would raise from $25-$75 and apply maximum pressure to the nits, basically going all in every hand.
I look down to As Qc in the BB and seat 10 makes it $35 to go. The SB calls with a shortstack behind and I make it $145 to go. Seat 10 calls and the SB calls.
Flop: Js 4h 5h (Pot 435)
Sb checks, I check with the intention to check raise all-in vs the mark and he insta bets all-in himself for 900 and change. The SB deliberates and says "fuck it, I'll call" with his 100 or so remaining. So I studied the guy, picked up a huge tell and called with the AQ. He tables Ad-10h and the SB shows Kh-Qd. LOL ship it.
Turn: 3
River: 2
