This week John McCain's campaign hit new lows with their attacks and distortions.
And all too often, the so-called "referees" in the news media are spending a lot of time repeating his false attacks and very little time holding him accountable.
Watch the video of Barack taking these attacks head on at an event in Indiana and help spread the truth about John McCain.
Here's the latest from McCain and the media:
• Just last week, McCain and his party attacked Barack Obama and ridiculed the idea that keeping your car tires inflated is an effective way to improve fuel efficiency and keep down the cost of gasoline. The thing is, everyone from AAA to NASCAR agreed with Barack. McCain finally had to face reality this week and reverse his position. But the media had a good laugh about McCain's petty, misguided stunt and ignored his effort to distort the truth to win a few cheap political points.
• Earlier this week, the McCain campaign put out an ad saying that Washington is broken. It's gotten a lot of press so far, but it didn't mention that John McCain spent the last 26 years in Washington -- failing to fix this broken system. He portrays himself as a so-called "maverick" but doesn't want people to know that he has voted 95% of the time in support of George Bush's policies.
• Another ad uses scare tactics to claim Barack's tax policy will hurt middle class Americans. Press coverage of the ad repeated McCain's smears, but omitted the fact that Barack's economic plan will cut taxes for 95% of American families. Not to mention that McCain's upper class tax cut plan leaves out more than 100 million middle class families.

Summary:
Am very excited to have a roll of $4050. Previously my highest was $3,500 once or twice, so to have a +$650 day today was very nice. Am probably going to try and get to 5k playing NL100 HU, and if that happens I'll decide whether I want to keep playing there or take a shot at NL200 6max.
Got to the borgata at like 1030PM tonight after an absurd day of traveling and various other bullshit, then waiting to see the USA entrance procession at the Olympics
Sit at 2 5 with 500, some dumb pots bring me up to like 800...then a lil later i get it in with q10 vs aj on the turn board of akj 3 spades, he hits flush on river...i top off stack so now we are in for 800
Next dumb hand involves me getting it in vs the worst player ever on a 10q7ss board with kjss vs his aq which he slams down like its the nuts when we get it in on the flop, and i brick all outs
So poker i was down 800 but i put NewBornBaby into the 1k plo game and he made me like 150 before the game broke.
As we are heading out to get like 4 hours of sleep before the 2k tomorrow, i sit with 300 at roulette. Lose it quick, sit with 300 more. 45 mins later, i stand with 2900. Ship it imo. Im good at roulette.
In 5 hours the 2k deepstack tourney begins. Wish me luck, ill post an update at dinner assuming i haven't spewed my stack yet...in which case the update would be suicide!
Well, after a pretty sick run in 200nl and 400nl in may, i have been on another sick run but on the opposite direction! My BR is all time low and i am loosing intrest in this game.
I might just cashout the rest couple of grands to go for live play or something.... or I go pro with my band...I am pretty good actually, here is a coldplay cover video i made.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/501006 - I REALLY thought he had quads heh, but with the odds I figured oh well, maybe he has QQ/KK enough of the time..
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/501008 - I know a few days back I had some silly hand where I shoved a trashy flushdraw on a paired board in a 3bet pot for 100bb (and got it in drawing almost dead to AA with a flushdraw), but in this case I SHOULD shove right?
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/501017 - I regret betting here, I had won the last two pots and I remember from an earlier session that he check/raised me the 3rd (or so) time I had raised his limp/raised in general.. I feel like if I cbet here, with how much I felt like he was itching to c/r, I shouldn't be folding.. Which might be pretty spewy so a check behind is probably best.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/501024 - Hmm, maybe I should bet turn again, 45 probably doesn't raise me, and for him to call on the flop and now have the high end of the straight he'd have to have 89T* and I have two 8s so that's fairly unlikely, I guess he could have 9T** with clubs too.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/501034 - Standard or should I call because his shove range should include more draws than Ax hands? Is KK44 double paired/single suited an alright 3bet or do I really need them to be double suited? Fwiw, TheAndOn was a very loose aggressive player.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/501041 - I hate folding here, I see visions of him turning QJ into a bluff before my eyes.. I considered c/ring river briefly to fold out KT (or 9T if he'd bet that..he sort of instapotted it). But he can have AT himself so meh.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/501043 - Should I bet turn you think? Am I being too scared of the nutflush when I have the 2nd nuts? With this many people in, do you think this board is better to c/r (since it's quite an action board)?
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/501044 - Felt good to do this after the last hand I'm not sure I should be potting in these spots, in hold'em I would probably jam here a lot (since nobody folds a boat or trips ever here) but do you think I I'll actually fold out some low boats here?
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/501046 - Bluuuuuuhhhhhhhhhh? Fold flop? It's like, a super small raise I feel dirty folding with that many outs On the turn I have like a bazillion million different outs (something like 40% equity vs the nuts).. Meh.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/501054 - Same guy as above.. now he c/raises me pot. Get it in or call? I have 17 outs but I suppose I'm kinda cooked vs 6789 or 5678.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/501062 - Same guy as above, this whale just owned me every hand. I was a bit tilted at the time, I think my turn bet is *really* terrible in retrospect, I don't really get a call from worse. I'm unsure about the river, maybe it's a call? Such a weirdly played hand =[
I have no idea what to make of his different lines/betsizes in the three hands. I don't think I got to see anything he showed down..
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/501051 - Should have bet river.. I didn't think he was gonna fold after he snapcalled me on the turn tho. Oh well.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/501063 - Aboo. Standard/not standard? Like, I have the blocker for the nut flush obv but even so, it's a 3bet pot, people probably don't fold any flush here. And I'm pretty much drawing dead vs a flush..
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/501064 - It's just hilarious how he doesn't raise me with the nuts.. :D Maybe he missed out on the fact that he had 99?? I don't know.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/501081 - Reraising this preflop would probably be alright? Post flop I think it's played ok after the ace comes, because he's gonna bluff that a ton.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/501084 - Am I missing out on value by not betting bottomset here? I'm not overly scared of him drawing two streets with a straightdraw on double flushdraw board but still.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/501209 - I think I like this a lot, the lead looks fairly FOS, and this way I'll get it in very good if he does happen to have the NFD.
I'm slightly ahead of schedule (8.9k hands after only 8 days of playing, or actually after only 6 days of playing and 2 days break, but still) and really enjoying poker which is awesome, been a while since I enjoyed grinding
Georges St. Pierre vs. Jon Fitch
The title match. omfg.... Jon Fitch is so game it's not even funny... and in another era he would be the champ the guy people couldn't touch. But watch his fight against diego and he's put into some very difficult positions. Diego is very scrappy on the ground and Fitch seemed to run into a few problems before winning a decision. He can't do that against GSP. GSP is just too dynamic and is far too explosive/strong. Fitch is strong as well but if GSP gets top position he's in trouble. I think GSP has the edge in basically everything. Better wrestling, better top position, better BJJ, better strikes... i don't know either mans cardio but watching gsp recently he has no issues it seems... i see this with GSP winning mid rounds by strikes.
Brock Lesnar vs. Heath Herring
So many people are giving brock a chance. Probably because herring lost to a wrestler in his debute and they think brock can do the same. Well this is a new herring and i think he's just too crafty and too good standing.. I see lesnar losing his explosiveness in round 2/3 and herring picking him apart. There is no way that lesnar can stop herring by strikes it's impossible. Fedor gnp him for the entire 10 minute round and the doctor had to stop it, herring didn't give up... do we think lesnar can do that in 3x5 minute rounds? Herring by decision.
Kenny Florian vs. Roger Huerta
I think i want to see this fight more then the gsp/fitch one. This fight is really a difference in styles. Huerta uses a kickboxer/boxing type standup style with wrestling. While florian uses a MT and BJJ style. Both are game and both have great cardio. This is gonna be a war... i really want huerta to win this. I love his game and his style and he's fun to watch, but on paper florian's ground is just so strong.... and if he gets top position on roger he's in trouble. I see this being Kenny by choke round two
Manvel Gamburyan vs. Robert Emerson
Robert Emerson is not good. Manny by decision or kimura 2nd round.
Demian Maia vs. Jason MacDonald
Okami sat on Mcdonald's face and Jason had no answer. Maia will triangle jason round 1 =[
Luke Cummo vs. Tamden McCrory-
Cummo will win by cooking Tamden some nasty ass kelp salad. I don't know much about Tamden but Cummo isn't really great in my opinion. Don't really know how this fight goes.
Cheick Kongo vs. Dan Evensen
Dan evensen is a striker who sucks. Kongo is a striker who's good.
Winner by giant african knees to the brain. Kongo
Andre Gusmao vs. Jon Jones
Wish i knew what weight this figh was at. probably 205. Andre is a good strong IFL fighter i've seen him before. Andre by TKO 2nd round.
Steve Bruno vs. Chris Wilson
Chris Wilson is that guy who had some serious standup against Jon Fitch. Steve is game but Chris is a team quest guy (so got serious wrestling) and great hands. Lots of people think he can be seriously good at 170. Chris by strikes 1st round.
Ben Saunders vs. Ryan Thomas
WTF WHO.
I'm pretty excited about this card. But i want to say that WEC is putting on such a great show now a days. Condit is a force and i'd love to see him face GSP if GSP wins... I might even prefer WEC over to UFC now a days. I hope all of you catch it when you can because if not you're missing out. As is i didn't really blog about the fedor/sylvia fight but there isn't reason to do so. Fedor is a beast and he's the best fighter in the world. p4p arguments are so shitty it's annoying. "if anderson silva walked around at 240 he'd crush fedor" yeah and if fedor could make 185 he'd also be 2x as fast... wtf who cares... As for poker, I don't really care to comment about myself but my main man KeanuReaver is back in action and he's splitting heads. WAR KEANU.
Me, Nutshot, and BJL are heading to Borgata for the weekend. Just wondering if any other LP'ers are going to be around Atlantic City this weekend for the $2k Deep Stack tourney or just to play some cash games there.
was playing in a 5/10/20 live game at foxwoods (well, ive been playing all week).
foxwoods dealers split tips so typically i'll wait until i'm done for the session and toke them whatever loose change i may have off an even stack, if you get what i'm saying. (if i have 8,125 to cash out, i'll tip 25 as i get up etc.)
last night it was pretty late, like 3am, and some tourist guy who kept buying in for 500 and busted a few times decides after i win a $120 pot in a blind vs blind situation to let me know in about the rudest tone possible that "You can tip the dealers once in a while." The exact statement was something like "Not to be offensive kid, but you know you can actually tip the dealer once in a while, right?"
What's odd to me about this situation is that there were some other regulars at the table who I'd played with before who follow the same tipping method I do. There were six or seven of us at the table, and three of us didn't tip per pot, so I was initially confused as to why this man seemed to target me on this particular point.
I responded with "Listen, you paddle your canoe, I'll paddle mine." to which he started epicly blowing up and telling me that dealers work for tips, he knows we don't tip in Canada (ROFL, how the fuck does he figure I'm Canadian? No idea) that I have no business being in this game if I'm not going to tip, yadda yadda etc. etc.
I'll leave the results out for now, just curious about what your play would be here?
I've decided that I'm gonna play HU only from now on. The pace at 6max I feel is too slow and if I play too few tables I get bored and do stupid shit, if I play too many tables I just plain suck. Tournaments are just too frustrating, playing 5 hours to just get itm and if you lose 1 flip you're basically fucked.
It's insane how soft NL5 is. But there's a reason I can't move up to NL10. I don't run like shit, everyone else runs like jesus himself. You think I'm kidding? Look at this shit...
I played 4k hands today, and i am down 2.5 buy ins. At times, I am up $30 cuz they suck, then instead of quitting, I want more, and then shit like this happens.
What
The
Fuck
I really need to blow off steam, prob. gonna go buy some food or sum shit and cook the fuck out of it, for the rest of the night (it's midnight now)

I swear there's no way to get away from that when ur semi-tilted.
In other news, I found out who will be my roommate for my freshman year at college. Turns out he parties a shit load, so I'm going to try to convince him to party as much as he can and get as drunk as possible, so he can drop out and i get the room to myself.
Tomorrow gonna grind the fuck outta NL2 to get my BR back AGAIN. For the 4th time so I can get coolered AGAIN. Ugh this roller coaster is pissing me off..
