I think the guy was saying it was ~6 months ago for the hand histories... not exactly easy to find without a poker tracker I guess. Also, it's really hard to tell if people are colluding in double or nothings, for example, if you have a 5000 chip stack on the bubble, you might call a 1500 chip all in from a non reg, but fold to a reg's push (not just because you don't want them to call you in the future if the roles were switched, but also because generally regs play so few hands that it's hard to exploit their pushes by calling them). Anyway, I probably have 1k+ games with a lot of these guys, which is hilarious because I still won lol. Stars admin credit 1 time!!!!

honestly though, i bet they had a SIC grinding mentality and worked a ton. Also, a lot of the profit probably had to be split around - 500k split between like 30 people is ~17k, so they might not have totally made off like bandits.

OBVIOUSLY its good they got caught, it is cheating, etc. and they may have had some sweet rb with that mass grinding to make it a sweet sum.

What I hope is that Stars uses not only confiscated funds but also the rake paid in those games and those closed accounts fpps, etc. (and one could hope... out of pocket) in order to truly compensate the affected players.

17k in China is so much money when an above average salary is ~US$400 a month, it's around 4 years of salary.

Edit: This is in a major city of China like Beijing, Shanghai.
If they're doing this in a secondary or tertiary city they're living like kings for the meantime.

Most likely IP trace, so they will simply track the IP and whatever account they happen to log onto will be shut down
