of time for getting your money into the pot with the best hand in order to be a really successful poker player?

for me, I can honestly say I get my money into the pot with the best hand 85%+ of the time, and yet i m not a successful poker player. always getting sucked out here and there. and of course the 15% of the time where i didnt' have the best hands.

what do i need to do? i mean everyone says poker is a long term game. you only see results in long term. Well, ive been playing for 2 years, getting my money into the pot with the best hand 85% of the time, why am i still not a successful poker player?

Abrassive the point grot is making is that poker is not just about getting your money in as a favorite all the time. There are so many other factors that you just seem to ignore.

Poker is so much more complex than you seem to understand, and until you come to the realization that there are huge parts of the game that you're ignoring then you wont ever be successful

nazgul and travis are harsh but they really do mean to help (i think) - and in their eyes being succesful at poker is less of a dreamy fantasy because they know all the bad stuff that comes with it while the rest of us fantasise about how nice it would be

how much % of the time do I need the best hand? it doesn't matter, you just need to win money.. and if you manage to bluff people all the time, you can win money consistently even if you have the worst hand when the money goes in all the time. You can also get your money in with the best hand all the time and be playing terribly and losing.

in order to be getting 'your money in' with the best hand 85% of the time you need to be folding 99% of the time and you do neither of those so you're just a fucking idiot

i don't mean pre flops. I mean at the moment when i put my money into the pot, say after the flop or at the turn. if flops comes something like K24, and i have AK. i put my money all, smeone with K10 calls. this is what i mean.

Well stop putting money in the pot preflop when you're behind too, then.

Don't know where you pulled that 85% from, but I have a pretty good idea... And if this infact is true, after 2 years, the only reasonable explanation is that in the 15% you go in when you're behind, you put in MORE money than that 85% you put money in when you're ahead.

The fact that you aren't winning yet should be considered a sign of either lack of talent or lack of dedication. Plus the "advice" you've been giving in other threads have been abismal at least. One that comes to mind was that "if you're running cold, you know you're not going to win anything that night anyway"- post which makes it pretty clear that you have yet to master the very basic ideas of the game.

honestly to answer the question, just to beat the rake its quite a bit.. im averaging 15BB/100hands on the 10cent tables, which is vry good for me since i started w/pokertracker, but for the last $150 ive won the total rake has been $60, so to even beat the rake you have to be at least around 3BB/100hands ?

i dont really know if hes trolling or not? seems lke an honest question from some1 whos' frustrated

wait my math was wrong? you need at least to win at least 5BB/100hands to beat the rake at .05/.10, which is pretty insane
