Hi everybody,

It's the new year. I got 1 strength training session in. I am not relatively strong but I gave it hell. I've mostly been playing Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare II Campaign recently. Really gets the Transcendence and flow going. I'm turning into some bro. CoD and Swole bro. It makes me think about things though. I am vicariously trying to be this special forces person. The mission when I was virtually a drone and airstrike guy I started tearing people up with the 25mm and 40mm ammo and dropping missiles on gas stations and schools and had fun doing it. I think this is why the Army recruiters were selling me that I could come down to the recruiting center and play CoD with the boys whenever I wanted. I wonder how much involvement the military has in the making of these games.

That's something to live for. Not dying in war.

I have to say I feel pretty good after my first training sesh. We will see how I feel tomorrow. I just have to make it a habit because it's just so incredibly good for mental health and confidence.

It's one piece of being a Viking in real life unlike Valheim where I am a keyboard and mouse warrior...

The pentagon has a lot of influence over the direction of these video games, as well as movies/tv. They have a lot of sway over what the story focus's on because film makers and game dev's need their expertise equipment to make war related games/movies.

You think? Games and films are entertaining only when they have a quality script/direction/acting. I have a hard time believing directors would really care what some rando 4 star general thinks about their production.

When Tom Cruise wants a sequel to Top Gun, sure he has to play nice with the Navy if he wants them to loan some F-18's, but it's not like the military is making any key decisions in filmmaking. It's more like "hey, make us look good so kids will join up".

There's a book written on this topic called "National Security Cinema". It isn't just Top Gun, it's around 800+ films/tv shows that have had involvement with the Defense Department. I'll just quote some parts from the book. It talks alot about super hero movies. Here's one part from the case study of the iron man movie:

"Air Force Captain Christian Hodge, the Defense Department’s project officer for the production, commented that the ‘Air Force is going to come off looking like rock stars.’ In exchange for this very positive portrayal they helped with almost every aspect of the film, from script research and technical advice to on-location filming, providing aircraft and airmen as extras.
An early draft script of Iron Man from 2004 shows that it was originally far more opposed to war and the weapons industry than the version that made it into cinemas..."

Another well researched example is "Zero Dark Thirty", the movie involving the assassination of OBL. That movie was pure CIA propaganda. The CIA wanted to manipulate people into thinking that torture was useful in finding him. Can look at the wiki page, which is pretty extensive.

This is how a lot of the modern media works. If your making a movie, or writing a story, you get external sources to tell you what the story is.

It's probably why all those films are bad HA!

---

I can have a great workout. I string enough of those together. Start training MMA again. Let's say I have a 315 lb. bench, 405 lb. Squat, 495 lb. deadlift, purple belt in BJJ, proficient in wrestling, boxing, muay thai, krav maga. That's a lot of time and effort. What is that versus a Glock? What's a Glock versus an AK-47? What's an AK-47 versus a missile strike and/or air support? What is anything versus a nuclear attack? Politics. The pen is mightier than the sword? Media and the military. We can make a beast of ourselves and still be quite fragile. I'd rather live by unarmed combat die by unarmed combat than get weapons involved. Plus, I am at a disadvantage because I don't think I can carry a firearm at this point. Telling a doctor that I was going to kill Nancy Pelosi and Vladimir Putin and getting escorted to the psych ward in cuffs by police will do that.

Air support takes a hell of a lot of resources though. Maybe it is best to scale up to excellent with a Glock and AK-47. That would cover most bases. I still like to train something physical though so something like Greyskull LP + MMA is probably ideal.

Concealed carry is rather inconvenient to be honest. I'd much rather know how to throw hands than draw a glock. Although the good thing about lethal force being your only form of self-defense is that hopefully you are much more reticent to use it and thus more willing to deescalate the situation should one arise. I cant fight, but I also dont want to kill anyone; solution? Just avoid shit with anyone. Diffuse. Walk away. At the same time an apartment I was looking at moving in to just had an armed home invasion the other night who's dog got shot as the residents ran out the front door. Thats someone who entered a home, armed, and ready/willing to use it. Although one has to wonder if the residents armed themselves could they have ended up also getting shot? A bad guy with a gun is not just going to let you kill him after all. I've seen plenty of clips of bar fights that ended successful for the defender because he know how to throw a punch, not sure I'd want to be pulling a gun in those situations either.

A buddy that taught me how to use firearms had a sign on his door, "Armed and dangerous. You'd be wise to pick another house." (Something to that effect). That crazy fuck would not hesitate to pull the trigger and he is a trained killer. I live in a gated community in really a lovely part of the USA. I'm not too concerned but if I was I would make sure to be well trained and well practiced. The truth of the matter is what are the chances in utilizing a firearm in a home invasion versus the chances of the gun ending up being used by myself in a particularly depressed state?

Pulling a gun in a fistfight is a very bad idea unless someone is going to get very badly beaten up or killed.

I think the key here is that if someone is going to go the way of the gun they have to be willing to die by the gun for starters. They also should be heavily trained with their weapons and also be trained in self-defense first and foremost.

As powerful as I can feel after pulling 5+ reps on the deadlift at an intense weight it's really nothing compared to knocking someone out, synching in a rear naked strangle, and then maybe a whole other level is if someone had the capability of emptying a clip into my torso or even more efficient killing me with one headshot. I've never done the latter 2. I don't know if it would make someone feel powerful versus the fear of losing life in that manner. I basically mean that right after my last rep of the deadlift someone had a gun pointing at me to put my hands up I don't think I would feel powerful anymore.

In fact, we live under the threat of nuclear war. Except, that it is not that immediate or visible. It does cause me some stress and worry if I think about it and there is nothing I can do about it. Except go to the gym and try to illicit a powerful state. Home invasion, terrorism, nuclear war are quite scary to think about but the odds seem unlikely enough to the point that it's not like jarring the consciousness all the time.

I'm just trying to think what's GTO?

What is GTO as our quality of life is likely to slowly diminish?

Is saying that my quality of life is likely to slowly diminish the truth and/or a self-fulfilling prophecy?

Lul what was your beef with Nancy Pelosi?

RiKD    United States. Jan 11 2023 01:43. Posts 8520

She is a symbol of USA Government corruption. Plus, I was manic + psychotic to the gills. The doctors all thought I was some crazy right-winger and told me to get off Parler and all this other ridiculous bullshit. I had to get examined by a psychiatrist for like 4 hours who had a designer bag and was wearing expensive jewelry who was pulling the same shit. I passed the tests but needless to say I went to a different psych ward the next time. Unfortunately, there was a next time and unfortunately there still could be a next time...

They probably get QA right wingers all the time. Liberal's often instantly think im right wing when i start saying weird things about politics. Left radicalism is kind've invisible to the liberals and so they have a pretty narrow black and white view of politics as a result.

I researched my psychiatrist before i went to get a adhd diagnosis from them and saw he was married to a libertarian politician heh.

Libertarians.

I'm reading this book The Sovereign Individual by whoever. I heard they get a lot of predictions correct. They have not exactly stated it yet but clearly they want some libertarian utopia. I would go further to say they clearly want some "moderate" / silicon valley utopia. That sounds like totalitarianism to me. Arrogant and "correct" about (their) knowledge of the past, present, and future. Surely, AI and algorithms play a large role. Invisible surveillance. Invisible power. Subconscious nudges and hints...

Pornography and gaming make me docile.

RiKD    United States. Jan 14 2023 05:07. Posts 8520

Does it even matter if I am docile? It's like asking does it even matter what I do in a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu game versus a black belt? I am going to end up submitting no matter what I do but I would argue it does matter how I handle the game even if I must submit or break a bone or die at some point in the future.

I refuse to not take care of the truth though. To become apathetic towards truth, fact, and justice is the end.

Strength training, walks in nature, water, books, and the guitar are things that make me stronger. Unlike drugs, pornography, gaming and a host of other things that make me docile. Does docile equal weaker or does it just mean docile? In a world where revolution is not possible. Gradual collapse is upon us. Do I ingest the soma and dance in The Entertainment while some semblance of a quality of life remains? For me, most likely, I will always have access to tendies and vidya. But, I have found out like I knew anyway that vidya is not enough and tendies are not a good source of food. I am still missing my atopic Other. Love, connection, and intimacy. Pornography is a hit of pleasure and decadence. It trains my male gaze for the worse. Masturbation is perfectly normal and fun if that's what is desired. I'd probably be better off without porn though. I read something that watching pornography can spike testosterone for 1 hour which would be perfect to watch before workouts but what goes up must come down. It's the same with steroids. There is no way to consistently raise testosterone despite probably lifting heavy weights and sleeping enough. I am fine with that today.

You talk a lot. And have great ideas. But no consistent action. Nothing in life comes easy holmes. Less typing, more action.

Man up

Google Stadia went down today. I hope Loco is ok. I would bet that he is but I had a company go down and the owner gave us 0 days notice which was pretty shitty.

I feel like people saying Love is the answer are people that are hopeful lovers or are in love. People that say Love is not the answer are not hopeful for love or have been broken apart by Love.

Honestly, I am in a season where the only thing that works is strength training and reading. Music too. That is a given. In fact, I shall run off to play for a bit now.
