Bernie represents a virus to the rich, in much the same way vietnam represented a virus that had to be crushed. There was actually a comparison made between the coronavirus and bernie, by msnbc. If bernies popular movement spreads, it will all be over for them. Msnbc have also trippled their profits under the insane clown presidency, all from advertising revenue. So why wouldn't they want someone that's going to lose to trump? Well there are moral and political considerations vs that financial one i guess, but as CEO of CBS put it: 'Trump is great for us and terrible for america.'

they're this profitable because Trump is a wealthy businessman, not a politician, and his antics and lies support those interests. they wouldn't manage to be as profitable with an actual politician because he wouldn't have those antics and lies for them to capitalize upon.
