I've got one more thing to add which I didn't think about earlier to the people that actually think because Trump is supposedly a good businessman that would imply he would be capable of running a government. That is absolutely fundamentally wrong. Businesses are ran in a way where you minimize costs and risk and optimize profits. Governments are exactly the opposite of that ( well not literally ). The USA and therefore the world has been ran by corporations for at least a decade now and look how it turns out. A corporate shark like Trump ( nevermind how discussable his skills in that sphere are ) is the worst thing that could happen to you, adding the fact that he s a moron will lead to a politically unstable environment in the very best scenario. Most of the decisions made when running a country you re put in the dilemma where you have to choose between profits and socially just redistribution the definitions of which are a matter of perspective. For example low income households represent a high risk for the health sector compared to mid-high class meaning they should cover heavier weight of the taxation if seen from business perspective, however that is obviously insane, cause you can't burden such households even further. That's just a basic example and I don't expect even as dumb as Trump to do such thing, but situations common to this will arise that don't have such a clear answer.

Anyways the fact that the western world lacks human resource and Trump's need to chase all the mexicans away shows a clear image of how retarded he is. That's like Germany pushing away Turks or England - Indians. Obviously different cultures and backgrounds will need a long amount of time to adjust, but in the end both parties profit. Immigration problems in the USA are one of the last issues that must be covered. I'm guessing however ( since I have no idea what the situation there is ) that there is s major voting group that would support such claims and a large % of the rest would not give a fuck about it which in no means justifies the deed.

Whole thing feels like a prequel to a civil war vol.2.

Corporations wouldn't exist without government help. Government is just a made up word...it's people, corruptable people...with guns...telling everyone else what to do. Dont think each law that exists is a threat to your life with a gun? Don't like where your tax dollars are going? Try not paying. Try not agreeing to go to jail when they come to collect that payment and see what they do.

Government shouldnt exist period, nor should majority rules voting. The poorest 50% will always vote to take from the upper 50% and once that 50% mark is eclipsed all the rights and money leave the upper class quickly. that's why free market capitalism will always be the purest way for a world to flourish. Bad ideas die quickly. Good ideas thrive. Better execution overtakes that. With 0 government monopolies are very unlikely, with no taxes goods would be so cheap that living would be insanely cheap as well. If anyone still struggled even a tiny amount of charity takes care of people in need.

On a small scale, think of poker without rake, how much easier would it be for that economy to flourish. Same concept.

I have no real comment on trump, he wants to increase the military industrial complex so he's a fool. But bernie sanders vision would create more damage making more single moms (who needs to hold on to a family structure with a backstop?) /rant /govt

A government is the most dangerous threat to man’s rights: it holds a legal monopoly on the use of physical force against legally disarmed victims. - Ayn RandLast edit: 18/09/2015 22:17

okay look, there are legitimate reasons to criticize trump, but this is not particularly one of them. call him a retard, call him a piece of shit if you want, but don't act like he's hard to understand.

firstly, the article you linked doesn't actually source when he said that. I was looking for the actual context in which he said that - like interview, speech, Q&A, where he was, what his audience was. his speeches are usually off the cuff, and people are interested in that. that's what people respond to in him. so trying to nitpick that is a little bit like beating a retriever for being a poor shepherd.

in fact, that article is just bad. it's all well and good to make fun of a politician for sounding stupid. I don't believe you could find one who speaks without at least occasional huge mistakes either in content, logic, language, or whatever. there are media professionals who have been making fun of George W. Bush for the past decade and a half. it's not a difficult thing to do. but the question of what role English has in the future of the USA is an interesting and serious one, and it's not a subject that can be resolved by making snarky fun of a 70 year old multibillionaire. so I'm not impressed by that article.

the thing about transcripts is the written language and spoken language are different. they simply are. there are passages in literature that are almost impossible to parse if you hear them aloud. and similarly, I can't imagine deaf people would find subtitles of bill cosby as amusing as if they could hear him. you might possibly have some kind of illusion where everything a public figure says needs to be perfect and ready for publishing. the fact is that if you watch or listen to trump, it's almost always clear what he's talking about and what he means.

I bet I could draw up a transcript of Richard Feynman that would look similar to this article. I could give myself a little spin challenge and fill it with dashes and commas and colons and semicolons and tell myself not to use any periods, even though if I wanted to I could divide it into more sentences. seriously did you think there was anything to that article, it's just a cheap shot

anyway look, the reason people are interested in trump is they are interested in someone who might do something new. they know what they will get from bush or clinton. they'll get a politician doing the same old shit, but not fucking up the country/world noticeably worse than the status quo. I believe people are curious about what Trump could be, but they have yet to be shown that he can really do something different AND not fuck things up in washington and worldwide. specifically, it's been months and he has still apparently learned nothing about any issues. with all the smart people that must be around him, his entourage, advisers, whatever - it seems like nobody has sat him down and taught him anything specific about the world that he ostensibly has a significant chance of being the leader of in a year and a half. if there's something to criticize about Trump, it would be that he isn't showing that he knows anything - or rather he hasn't shown yet that he can learn at the level or pace the president needs to - not his oration, which is obviously his strength.

It seems to be not very profitable in the long run to play those kind of hands. - Gus Hansen
