We are about to witness a worse collapse than The Walking Dead

The biggest problem in my opinion is that they started telling the story in the middle.

There was no build up with Vince, we didnt see things develop for him so now I couldnt care less that his deals have gone sour. All the drama is being spurred by the characters and not the story.

4 episodes, most action packed scene of the season, yet we had never even met the antagonist.

Has a critically acclaimed tv show ever completely recast the show going into the second season? At this point they are just tarnishing the first season.

They chased him in episode 3 end brah, doesn't matter im nit picking here anyways other things are quite accurate, they tried to use the same scheme like they did with Harrelson and Mccaunaghey however their characters were muuch muuch different and deep. For example McCaunaghey's character was a sick well read pessimist who was able to defend all of his point of views through dark Schopenhauer statements, he was legit, while Colin Farrel's character is just meh - a cliche story of a cop that went corrupt due to certain circumstances his life fell apart and he has practically given up cuz he s weak

its still better than got s5, obv nothing can top season 1 and you all are being delusional thinking they could possible come close to s1 quality. they werent even able to keep up in s1 finale

my housemate and I like this show and find it entertaining. Might not be the best show ever or as good as S1 but I never expected it to be.

They are calling it True Detective still but with the anthology style it might as well just be a completely different show. I'm just trying to enjoy it for what it is and don't even relate it to S1.

FWIW I don't even think the first true detective was as great as you all do. Yes the two main actors were great and the first 4 episodes were some of the better TV that has been made. The story falls off significantly by the end however nearing cliche.

Looks like TD2 is going the opposite direction- hopefully starting weak but ending strong ala Fargo (I liked the whole show but it got better episode to episode).

its ok afterall, we get this mediocre S2, then S3 with new cast new story could be epic again as fuck, thats the beauty of this style

I agree that the stories lacking, but as for bad casting and bad acting? pshh.. i'm really liking the focus on character development, there was a lot of that in s1. And It's a mystery ffs, of course we're not going to meet the antagonist until later in the season; we knew little of s1's villain until the last ~2 episodes.

There were so many unanswered questions by the end of s1, how could you praise that season while criticizing the story here

GoT Season 5 was infinitely better than True Detective thus far and I thought that season was the worst in the shows history

Number 1 show for me this year is still Mr.Robot, enjoying the fuck out of that show!!

This is uhm, maybe 6th or 7th place or so, I kinda go "ah ok, new ep, ill dl, watch when bored!" And it's pretty cool.

S5 GOT > True Detective S2

hell the most recent walking dead season and i absolutely hate that show and have no idea why i continue to watch it is better then this

Its going in the opposite direction of the last TD. Getting better towards the end. Vaughn and Colin decent this episode plus the plot has finally resolved

The dialogues the young guy officer has are tilting as fuck, the scene with his mom was probably one of the worst HBO scenes ever produced
Somewhat better episode overall though

Nice, Marius, Mr Robot seems pretty good it reminds me of the Millenium books series too

I think the writers are just trolling us at this point

I'm kinda hooked on this terrible show. Also why is there some closeted homosexual on every damn show I watch nowadays? Is it really that rampant in real life? How many are there here in LP? Come out already guys it's 2015 lol

The show is great imo, not Breaking Bad or Season 1 True D. level but it's starting to get interesting
