In my very first MMA fight/tourney i went in with
Terminator 2 theme song

It was a beginners tournament with 12 participants

At first i was afraid it may be a bit odd for a newcommer to go in with terminator music in his first fight

I won 3 fights that night and took the tourney
Felt pretty good walking in to the finals hearing the Terminator sound while walking in

Also used it after that tournaments when i won the FFA New Talents show

So i am 4-0 on Terminator music ^^

In my 5th fight i used

and lost due to a doctor stoppage having a cut within 30 seconds ....

If one day i will ever be stepping back in the octagon i will use terminator music again

U see what i did there with A8 ? He 4 bets and there we go insta jam A8 : ---booooom -- . hahahaha ( Krantz)Last edit: 28/02/2014 18:35

I take it very seriously, it is more than a job or career for me it's a way of life. I want to travel the world training and testing my skills against the best, not just under "standard mma" rules but in various other forms of combat. My end goal has always been to one day open my own gym and coach the next generation, but not anytime soon of course.

What I never understood was, how can people afford to train in mma so much, isn't the pay shit, unless you're the top ~1%?

How can 99% of these fighters afford to train at top mma gyms, and pay for travel expenses, personal training etc..

I dont know what a dt drop is. Is it a wrestling move? -OlyLast edit: 28/02/2014 19:58

In case you are good enough you dont have to pay for training at top mma gyms ....
they pay u ....

Still u are correct in the assumption that as an MMA pro you are not swimming in money.
I didnt manage to go professional due to health reasons and maybe lack of talent, too ^^
But some of my longtime training partners did go pro.

Seeing how much pressure they have every fight and how little money they get overall did change my view on MMA.

The average income from sponsorships (~ 600- 800€ month) 3-4 fights a year (1000€ fight) and working parttime as a bouncer (700€ month) is an average of 1800€ a month after tax.
I dont know how it its in other countrys but thats around what my friends get.
You can live an okayish live with that.

Still its far away from living the dream of a professional athlete diving in money and driving a ferrari ^^

Yea it's a struggle for sure, but I'd much rather do this than any normal job. Also the experiences and the people you met are real hard to put a price tag on.

Side Note: Met Arnold once at a starbucks while he was the governor and the Terminator theme was playing in my head.

^ If I ever had a pro fight, I'd come out to Jason "Mayhem" Miller's old entrance song. (turn the volume up on your headphones)

just rediscovered this song. would be good for me since my last name is daut (pronounced doubt) but its a really sick old school hip hop track, so if thats your thing maybe it would work
