why not bet more on river ? I'm not experienced at all with overbets, but doesn't his call on turn scream I have a strong made hand ? Do you think that he would fold JJ/QQ/KK/AA if you overbet river too ?

whats your reasoning behind the overbet?

I don't think it needs to be that big. i think you may be getting value towned too much by sets, two pairs ect. when you bet 300% of the pot, even with your good equity. Some maths might have to be done on it this play.

I'd rather just 3barrel with some good old 4/5 sizing. you can probably easily get him off 65, 78, 88 by the river, as when the 9 hits on the turn his perceive range probably gets stronger, and he will think you are a little less likely to bluff into him. that is, if he is on that level of thinking.

Then again he will probably call alot when the flush draw misses. I actually like a check/decide with your flush draw on the flop. i think leading with it is a little too obvious and it will be hard to 3barrel bluff successfully when it misses.

i like betting like 2x pot on turn and barrel the river if i miss. i didn't expect villain to show up with a set, since his hand shouldn't be that strong when flatting 2 streets.

turn bet was definetly to big tho.

but overbetting means his range going into the river is much stronger than it would be vs a normal bet, hence you will get much less folds on the river.

thx for reply. my thinking was, that he should either raise his strong hands on turn or end up with hands that shouldn't be able to call a big river bet if a blank hits.

maybe i'm just being fpps again

do you like leading flop, and turn with normal size bets (close to potsize) ?

if your gonna overbet the turn, you logically should shove the river, since its consistant with your line

yeah actually even smaller then that, we dont need to bet big to make him fold stuff like overcards, and things that have some sort of pair+draw are still gonna call but the wider his turn calling range is in theory the more fold equity we have on the river when we brick. also not to mention we are giving ourselves a nice price on a solid draw.

btw Ive never actually considered taking your line so I dont wanna shit on it too much cuz maybe it has merits I just dont see much immediately.

this was my first thought too

still i think just betting 8-9 on the turn is better than overbetting

I think river is a MUST overbet, 100%

Browsing through your hand histories makes me wonder that you might not be aware these games are possibly play money. Have you ever tried to cash out? - Kapol
