This was a live hand at Hollywood Casino in Columbus. Found a shitty converted, so yeah.

Really no history here.. 2nd hand I was dealt at a new table that had been running maybe under 10 hands so far.

Also, I'm sitting at $250 stack.. (NOT 800)

pretty standard i guess. he bet so small on turn and river you kind of have to call.

Quite standard

id call call call, no reason to reraise this flop.

Ryan Neilly   United States. Mar 14 2017 21:33. Posts 1631

actually id prolly call call fold if he bet bigger OTR since the flop reraise made him bet 1/4 pot on river.

you see no reason to raise flop... really? you dont see how he has about 5 hands that beat us and 500 that will donk/call raise, but are crushed?

Im with spitfiree, I feel like he plays any PP the exact same way with a flop like this. I even think a lot of A X's can do the same.. Thanks for the input guys...

He's not near pot/calling with an ace; pp, fd, 3x, maybe 56 is his range. So raising is good vs that. If you actually think he has a bunch of ace highs calling gets better since he will be bluffing more.

Mayyybe he does this lead with a2 a5 sometimes but i still doubt he calls the big raise. A2cc A5cc prob just 3b jam flop. Maybe he would peel Ac5x if you raised smaller. I do actually think ur flop raise is kinda big and tends to be faceup given effective stacks. Putting in 80 to win 48 ur almost always gonna have good equity here. Call and jam when checked to on turn, near m/r jam turn, or just ship flop over his donk are all better bluff lines (and value lines)

Certainly nothing wrong with calling ip here btw. Especially this shallow on flop given his 72 bb stack, the 4.5 raise pre called in 2 spots. Spr is getting low before he even donks.

If we were to construct a raising range on this flop at all we would be raising hands like 1010 and JJ at a higher frequency than KK (which benefits considerably less from protection).

I'm not saying flatting the bet on the flop is terrible, but seeing no reason for hero's decision is.

I contemplated a call.. and maybe this is makes it even worse considering the size of my raise but - I was thinking if he has a 3, given his stack, shouldn't i just expect him to shove there? Maybe I could've gotten the same result from something like a raise to $60~ and had a little more fold equity, but then I think he also could play 66+ the same (this casino is super fucking soft, you obv. have some competent regs, but theres a ton of traffic in and out of here with players that do really nutty shit)

On second thought, I think I just answered my own question ignoring results..

If he's capable of making the same play here with basically any over pair,a5x, etc. it makes a lot more sense to flat flop ip and see if he tries to ship it in on the turn. BUT - if this is the case, with no history, do i fold to a club turn if he shoves? I guess I'm trying to figure out how I get away from this hand at any point given the stack sizes? Im thinking if I flat flop, he'll probably lead turn, in which case probably puts me in a shitty spot on the river too given his stack/pot size?

Appreciate the input guys. What about pre-flop raise size? Generally raising to 7 doesn't isolate too much at these games.. Average raise is like at around $10 - Even though I only got 1 caller pre, that's usually pretty rare.. Normally your looking at 4-5 to a flop if its under $10.

Ryan Neilly   United States. Mar 20 2017 22:36. Posts 1631

Fayth we play totally different strategies.

I would always flat flat fold or flat flat flat or flat flat reraise IP vs donkbets here.

if clubs turn / riv I'm not gonna have most my stack in, the pot will be large enough on river for agood value bet vs a check.
